Beta access - Active subscription?
So, my WoW subscription ran out 5 days ago, and at the moment, we don't have the money to re-activate it. Does anyone know if that'll make me ineligible to beta-test Cataclysm? Of course, I can't ask on the WoW forums, as I don't have an active account...

I do believe so. I think you have to have an account that's been active for at least ninety days in order to be eligible, unless they changed the rules on me since I opted in.
