I went swimming today and when I left I saw a pigeon. It's wing was hanging down and the bird couldn't fly. It crossed a very VERY busy road and almost got hit by a bus. I crossed the road and caught it. Took it to the vet and the vet didn't think it had a broken wing. I took it home and put it in a parrot cage (the parrot doesn't go in it anyway )
It is slowly getting better but Scoo the bantam hen doesn't like it. But Scoo doesn't like anything
Aw, poor pigeon! That was very kind of you to save it (reminds me of a time I stopped my car on the side of the road to save a turtle that was attempting to cross X_x). I hope it makes a speedy recovery.

This reminded me of a time in middle school...There were these tennis courts which had a wire fencing around them (Not sharp wires, plastic ones) and one day there was a seagull that got stuck in there. It had a damaged wing or something along those lines. But at a school with lots of children just running around minding their own business, it wouldn't be in much danger and all you'd have to do is get a dinner lady to sort the problem out, but no! Some of these kids actually started throwing stuff at this bird! My peers, of the same age were actually throwing stuff at an injured animal. There was also a crowd around it too, but I thnk they were just trying to help.
But I wasn't having any of this! I went up to those annnoying kids and threatened them to stop (and I hate violence and confrontation...at those times there was always an argument at home because of my sister. Was the last thing I wanted at school) and these kids stopped there throwing shenanigans and I went up to the crowd and said that clustering around the bird was just putting it in more distress (Well, I assume it does) and I also told someone to get a dinner lady to try and help it. One arrived in a few minutes and helped the bird and it eventually got away.
But good work saving that pigeon! It's not nice to see animals in pain and distress...Even if they do their mess on our cars and even heads if (un)lucky enough!

That's exactly how I saved my baby turtle that I still own now. He's doing great so far.
Anyway, hope the pigeon gets better. I'd say name it Pesto. I always call pigeons Pestos because of Animaniacs. Coo!
Good on you for helping the pigeon! Hopefully it's not too serious and it can fly out on its own soon. I've helped out a few birds in the past, baby robins, a baby crow and a pigeon. People liked to bring over injured animals they found. :p None of them had breaks though and were able to leave once they could fly.. The babies took a while but it was pretty great having a crow on your shoulder (although they poop anywhere anytime >_<).
