Ysera's Eyes explained by Valnoth*a Blue*

Unread post by Arwyn »

As you know, in the model pic of Ysera her eyes are open, reason as posted by Valnoth:
As I've said before, her eyes are very intentionally open. This is, in fact, part of the fiction and will be explained in one of our upcoming novels as well as a future event in game.

If it suits you, feel free to RP going CRAZY INSANE after looking into her eyes in Hyjal. http://blue.mmo-champion.com/t/26399010 ... -feedback/
Ah the crazy shenanigans RPers must be thinking up right now.

She could very be tainted in some way that will play out further in a future expansion/game. It wouldn't be surprising, perhaps after everything that has happened in the world, and then more recently with the emerald nightmare, she has decided the world is meant to look like the emerald dream and gosh darn it, she's gonna make that happen by any means. That would leave, what... two uncorrupted flights left?

Nerfarion, Malygos, quite likley Nozdormu... bringing down the dragons seems to be the trend. Heaven help us if big red ever becomes evil.

We already fought the reds when Alex was enslaved by the dragonmaw, but yeah, having all the dragonflights go evil probably wouldn't be a good thing.

Anyone else a bit offended by that reply? It just seemed, I dunno'... Mean.

I wondered that, it does seem a little... off, doesn't it?

The blues are probably getting grumpy about the hardcore Warcraft lore fans bitching them out over every change they make. Given, some points are more justified than others....like the whole worgen thing. But "oh noes, Ysera's eyes should be closed!" was instantly assumed to be a mistake, rather than intentional. I can imagine that it would get VERY tiring to have people immediately assume the worst.

No joke, for the people who love the lore, it's a pretty big smack in the face, and it was completely unexplained in any way form or fashion. That was their first response, and it was a borderline asshole reply. It's just bad form to be so rude when people have a valid concern about the lore they know and love.

Don't forget that while there are people at blizzard who genuinely want to provide the best gaming experience possible, there are others who don't see WoW as a form of literary and artistic expression. They see it as a business, and the players as a herd of cattle. They don't respect you for signing their paycheck. They get angry at your questions.

Please be patient with them.

That said, I have great faith that they'll find a way to make sense out of most of the lore mistakes they've made.
