Mechano-Hog!

Unread post by Quin »

I was finally able to build my Mechano-Hog tonight! :D It took weeks of grinding the cash, but completely worth it. I've been driving around Dalaran making "vroom" noises like a total dork.

My friends are chuckling at me, but totally worth it!

Here's Quin on her new ride!

it is totally worth it. I remember when I finally saved up for that too. And then after giving it to my pally - I started to wish I used it for my hunter. And then I thought my DK could use it instead.

They should make it BOA!

Grats though! Its fun!

First thing i did with mine:

-Got RL friend to jump in sidecar in Dal Sewers
-Drove out of sewer pipe to fall to ground
-Popped Flexweave Parachute before going splat
-Friend was unfortunately not a engineer like me and went splat

/w I thought you had a parachute too!

Have one. Love it. Only regret is that it doesn't fly....

If they can fold up a side car into that tiny little compartment, there has to be room for some secret hyperjets. Maybe they're just saving those for the Winnebago mount.
I don't really feel like this is so much the "Post-Modern" era as much as its the "Pre-Zombie-Apocalpse" era. I consider myself more of a forward thinking guy and an era that just won't die is just as feasible as a coming era, where the dead come back.

Yeah the 5 passenger flying Winnebago mount (in homage to spaceballs)

Cost is 40k gold worth of engineering mats.

Each rider pays (unknowningly) 200g for entering the mount directly to the owner

Engineers can be the new taxi service!

I just got the schematic for my Chopper last week, so now comes the fun part of saving up the cash. I'm about 1/10th of the way there!!! (1300g/12500g)

So, what's the best way to make cash - dailies?; gathering?; mailbox-dancing? (j/k!)

You can get 200G a day easy just by doing dailies. The Tournament is a great place especially for that since there's so many quests all together. While you're doing them, grab whatever ore/herbs you find and sell'em; some of them easily bring in 50G a stack, more if you're lucky enough to get titanium or frost lotus...

I love this thing! :D

For me, it took me weeks of grinding, but...

I did dailies: Argent Tournament and Sons of Hodir, as well as Cooking and Fishing.

I farmed ores in Sholazar Basin: usually got at least 200 Saronite a day and some Titanium if I was lucky, as well as various gems. Sold all of them.

I did my dungeon dailies every day to get that little bit of extra cash too.

I also sold enchanting mats (50% of them went into my guild's bank, the other 50% I sold).

I admit to nothing!!!!

Definitely dailies are the win as far as affording everything. Enchanting and JC sure did a lot more for me back in the day when more people were doing new content. Herb/mining was just OK for the most part.

For the others, if you don't have a good chanting/JCer right now, now is the time! Seize the day! Grab up mats for cheap while people aren't buying them and costs are down. That, or mine stuff one one char for another char who has JC/Chanter. Then make stuff with the JC and DE the stuff to make materials for enchants. Life is good :)

For extra cash I saved up for the bike over a couple months just doing the daily random and the weekly. Getting those Frost Badges, and turning them into Primordial Saronite. It worked well when they were each about 2k, now their down to about 700g on my server so its not as profitable. But it still works as some extra cash. All Frost gear will be replaced by lvl 82 greens anyways (just a guess) - so might as well save up the cash!

I'm hoping gold is even easier in Cata - I want to get more Bikes for my chars.
