Petopians US Guild Events Poll.

It has come to my attention, over the last several weeks, the turnout for our weekly guild events has become less and less. To the point where I've had to cancel a few due to lack of people.

My question is, should I keep hosting these, or should I just stop? Or is there another solution? Thoughts and ideas are welcome, please. Hell, I'll take flames at this point.

We have plenty of activity. Lots of people online most of the time save late night/early morning.

It's just that people rather do other things than attend guild events. Just because they're having more fun with other things, of course. Just wondering if there's something on my part I can do to make them more fun or appealing. Or if they should just go away.

In all seriousness, I would like to keep this thread from being derailed. I would like to get some clear and concise opinions on our guild events so I can improve them, in short.

Only had 5 people turn out, including myself, so that was canceled. Hence I was wondering what I can do to make the events more appealing, in anyway. Time change? More hype? More planning? Make them mandatory to attend? Have them more random and not scheduled? Etc.

Having them mandatory sounds like a bad idea.

You could try having them announced a bit more? I assume you already put them in the calendar and MOTD, but maybe a stickied post here?

Honestly, I love the guild events, even the RP ones, though I'm not a big RPer....unfortunately, my boss keeps changing my schedule so I'm now closing Friday nights most of the time (I'm actually typing this on my phone while waiting for the store to close lol)

I love the guild events and enjoy attending them when I'm able. I suppose the RP events haven't sparked my interest lately for certain reasons, but overall I do really enjoy remembering about Friday nights and all the crazy shenanigans we usually get ourselves into.

I voted that I like some and I attend some. I do enjoy the events a lot, so it's not that the events are good/bad. It's just that I'm a rather finicky person and some days I just feel like leveling instead of attending the events.

And some days I forget that it's Friday and that we have events >>; My time zone is exactly 1 hour before the realm time, so I get mixed up 'cause of that too, haha. But that's not any problem on the events' part, that's just me being dumb

I can't really vote cause there's no option that fits my situation. It's really hard for me to attend Friday night. Aoani is not my main, so when I do get to play Friday night, it's on Ysera. On top of that, things have just been crazy for me outside WoW lately. I really enjoy the crazy things we get into, but I usually only become aware of them after they've taken place. I'm always sad to read another "look how much fun we had" post because I really do want to be part of it. I just have had to prioritise family and life obligations lately, so WoW playtime has been limited.

I guess I'd say to make it more clear that something will take place, and perhaps try other times? That would definitely help me. (Of course if I'm the only person that would benefit from a change in time, then don't on my account.)

Maybe a sticky for chatting about events? Plenty of times I've looked at the calender and saw something interesting, but I'm at a loss for what could be going on, what the rules were, where to meet, ect., and came to the forums trying to be enlightened, but didn't find a whole lot. The first post could perhaps give a brief description of events that happen more than once, or has a chance of appearing again (Say, chasing a certain pink-clad Death Knight across a zone). The first post could also have a small section at the top or bottom giving details about an upcoming event, whether it's posting a backstory for an RP event, stating rules, areas, ect. The thread itself could be used for sharing experiences, thoughts, or questions. Chatting about it could possibly build some hype for the event as well.

I'm not too sure how difficult this would be to upkeep, but it's the best suggestion that comes to mind.

Also, this reminds me that I missed ANOTHER event goshdarnitargghhh. I definitely want to come to more events - every time I've been to one, I've had a ton of fun. And more than once I've looked at screenshots posted and regretted not taking better care to remember. Events are something I would be very sad to see go. It feels like such a great way for the guild to get together and for the people within it to become more comfortable with one another. Heck, I'm extremely shy when it comes to talking with others, but being in such a friendly and fun atmosphere really has done wonders for helping me come out of my shell. I promise I'll try harder to attend more events! <3

I love the events too and I try to make it whenever I can. I usually insist on being home in time if out and about. Only missed this Friday's due to dinner plans that ran late. Sorry to hear that the RP didn't happen. I love the RP events.
And the silly, For the Heck of It sorts of get-togethers.

More "advertisement" or forewarning could be a nice boost. Maybe start early at the end of the event, "Thanks for coming to this weeks event. Glad you all had fun. Let's meet next week for Hide and Seek in Ratchet!" for an example. Or if unsure of the next event's nature, see if anyone currently attending the event has ideas for next week.

Trivia contests, Hide and Seek, Role Play, Scavenger Hunts, maybe even taming challenges in the future. There's lots we can do.
