Pet Size
Dose anyone else have a problem with the sizes pets become after taming (at high levels anyway)? I personally would like them to be a bit smaller do to the fact they could be a in the way of your target. A suggestion I remember seeing (somewhere) was that there could be a scaling function in the Interface Options where you could change the size of Pets and Minions (on your end) in the game. If anyone else has opinions or suggestions I would love to hear them.

Re: Pet Size
Heh. I actually wish some of my pets were bigger. Then again, my hunter is a tauren who was race-changed from a Blood Elf. All your pets seem too small after that!
As for your targeting problems, I suggest turning on your enemy nameplates. Then you can just click on the bright red bar floating over their heads which will always show above any other obstacle in the game, including your pet.

Re: Pet Size
Some of the models do seem to end up embarrassingly small (the "giant" spiky spiders) or inconveniently large (the Sholazar wasp models). Would be nice to change their size but I suspect that would be an awful lot of work for Blizz over what is, objectively, a relatively small part of the game. We hunters are probably enough of a PITA to the devs already

No matter how big a pet is, it's never big enough for me (okay, maybe rhinos are big enough...

I would support a personal scaling feature that allows you to increase the size of your pet up or down by say 25% either way but only changes how it appears to you, e.g. nothing that would mess with other players' game experience. Probably more trouble to code than it's worth though.
Re: Pet Size
Rhinos are quite useful for their size because you can feign death under them, and it will be hard for the opposing players to re-target you.

I know how you feel. Actually one of the reasons why I ditched my Ressan the Needler, when he got too big, and his wings were all over the place.
But I didn't know about the nameplates back then.. (if they were even there)

I'll be waiting on the highland, with its wonderful serenity.
Where the stars glow and the brooks flow, that's my way of life.
When the mountains on the highland, and the nature is surrounding me, when the wind blows, that's all I need.
Re: Pet Size
Spiders and devilsaurs should be larger, imo. Everything else seems ok, except for bears at low levels. They look like their growth was stunted. They're a nice size at 80 though.

Re: Pet Size
I would like Core Hounds and Devilsaurs to be a bit larger, actually. x) I was in the WotLK beta, and at the time Core Hounds were bigger than they are now. I really loved the size they had then and was a bit disappointed to see it nerfed when the expansion came live.
The only current pets that really bug me though are the barbed spiders from the Draenei islands. They shrink so much, I wish they could be the same size as a tamed bone spider at least. They're probably my favourite spider model, yet you can hardly see all the wonderful details because they practically become a minipet after taming.

Re: Pet Size
I wish my Devilsaur was alot bigger. I like big/huge pets. I'm still remotely, wistfully thinking/dreaming of a pet buiscuit-like thing for Hunters' pets to turn up in the Pet Store.

Re: Pet Size
I agree with Opportunity that some pets are just Too big--this is part of the reason why my BM hunter doesn't have any exotics in Wrath. Exotics are looking more tempting in Cataclysm though, so will try to see if I can stand having a Corehound.

Especially if they truly will be removing their growth power - can you say "gangly raptor"?Lulakita wrote:I agree.
