Sleepy Bear
Dunno if anyone has seen this yet, but I was reading the Scattered Shots article over at the WoW Insider, and it says "Bears have a new "sleep" ability that causes them to sleep and regain happiness, though it looks like they're dead." Here's the picture that goes along with the article. Gotta say, I love blizz more and more every day! They sure are giving our pets more abilitys and fun little spells. =)

Love is a crime, whose beginning is a glance, and whose ending is eternity.
Re: Sleepy Bear
Aw. I don't know about the practicality of such a spell, but I'd like to be able to have all my pets sit and sleep.

Re: Sleepy Bear
i would love it if lil "Z"s pop up over there heads hehe. i like how pets seem to be getting "regan happiness" as pet skills so i dont have to put points into the trees for it, i hope more pets get "regan happiness".

Re: Sleepy Bear
Lol I hadnt seen the bear pic yet. Boars have the same "bonus" ability, but they just freeze standing instead of sleeping. This gives me more hope that each family will get a Play ability
Re: Sleepy Bear
I agree, Zzz's would make it neater. Also if pets had a jump animation. I know it's cosmetic and eyes of the beast is pretty trivial, so things like sitting and laying are really unlikely. But does the "go there" interface ever cause the pet to jump? I've got some pretty odd looking statue-looking jumps on some of my pets.

Re: Sleepy Bear
The birds have their new Trick ability which doesn't have a dedicated animation yet that I have seen but I do like the idea of giving the pets a cosmetic ability. It gives them more character and might even cause us to get more attached to our fuzzy (or slimey, or scaley) little buddies
So everyone make a HUGE fuss about how awesome it is and we'll probably get more! (like with the Play ability)

Seagulls do a flip actually
I think I saw someone mention it here, so I tested it earlier, I just had to check it out hehe. I really want a monkey 'play' animation. Eat a banana, throw some poo, whatever lol

Re: Sleepy Bear
On beta, yeah. I was talking about PTR but then again it'd make sense that beta animations wouldn't be implemented on the ptr until they are all done so they can be tested.Doth777 wrote:Seagulls do a flip actuallyI think I saw someone mention it here, so I tested it earlier, I just had to check it out hehe. This makes me want to check my bear, DrHorrible just to make sure.
Edit. Confirmed on PTR.

That is all kinds of adorable. It's nice to see Blizz adding stuff like this for fun.

I'm glad to see Blizzard adding more fun stuff for the Hunter-holics like us.
It really makes me happy to know they're aware of us and want to give us little 'presents' like this.

Re: Sleepy Bear
Its cute but the purpose of it seems pointless. How hard is it to keep pets happy anyways? I just have the minor glyph that increases happiness with mend pet, or just throw him a steak.
I love the ability, i just think it would be something like food (if pet stays sleeping for 10 seconds or more he will gain the "Beserking cause you broke his/her hibernation buff") or something neat like that

Re: Sleepy Bear
Oh, is the Hibernate ability in addition to their regular pet ability? If so that's awesome and extremely cute! I thought it *was* their ability which struck me as particularly useless.

It's a bonus ability much like the fox's play ability.Anansi wrote:Oh, is the Hibernate ability in addition to their regular pet ability? If so that's awesome and extremely cute! I thought it *was* their ability which struck me as particularly useless.

It should be a noncombat heal like a voidwalker's gather shadows.Royi wrote:Its cute but the purpose of it seems pointless. How hard is it to keep pets happy anyways? I just have the minor glyph that increases happiness with mend pet, or just throw him a steak.

Re: Sleepy Bear
*flies to the PTR*
EeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee!
Absolutely missed that Ursa had it, since my original five pets lost everything on their pet bars and I thought those were just GONE, not empty!

This has gone unmentioned, but the bears actually roll onto and off of their side to get to that position. It's adorable!
Less amusingly, you don't want this thing on autocast. Ursa refused to hit a training dummy because he kept casting this.
