Jesus the Beast was hard to tame. :p
When I paid off a priest and shammy and rolled into UBRS with a 6k GS and fear ward/blood lust on tap, I had a lot of misplaced confidence. I figured all of the horror stories didn't apply to me.
Needless to say, I was pretty shocked when I failed no less than 6 billion times.
The problem started as soon as we entered the instance. I'm not an old raider guys. I just jumped on the bandwagon about a month after the first wing of ICC was released, so I had no idea how to navigate UBRS. I got lost many, many times, and the fanmade maps I found on Google images didn't help too much. I can't count how many random crevices swallowed me and all the mobs that pushed me off of narrow bridges before I finally made it to the Beast.
I thought navigating UBRS was the hard part, but even with fear ward, beastial wrath, a speed pot, a haste elixir, and a carefully timed Bloodlust, I still screwed up many, MANY times. I even had to hearth out and come back at one point to tame more trash pets for BW. It was a royal mess, but at one point the shaman got on vent and confessed that he hadn't been dropping the right totems for the situation. I've never played a shammy, but whatever he changed worked wonders because I got the Beast on the very next attempt. I was so happy that I gave the priest and shaman an extra hundred gold (200g each total).
I tend to give my pets silly names, but I wanted the Beast to be fearsome, so I named him Leviathan. He has become a bit of a running joke in my guild, because whenever I have him out I always ask "Hey guys, what level is my corehound?" followed by a bunch of people sighing into their mics. xD
I don't often click immediately with pets after I first tame them, but I'm loving Levi. He kicks major ass in battlegrounds, too. >:D MAGES BEWARE!!
I'll brb with pics, but I refuse to log into WoW to take screen shots while I'm in a college class. >.>

Awesome tame, grats!!! He's definitely the coolest core hound, IMO. I just don't think I can handle more than one epic tame per hunter.

Gratz! I wish I had the patience and dedication to try. Your story convinces me I shouldn't bother yet. Maybe in Cata he's gonna be a bit easier. Because he really is very cool. And I love the name.

Re: Jesus the Beast was hard to tame. :p
congrats on your tame
Ive read quite a few posts about hunters struggling to tame the beast but from my experience its a pretty straight forward tame, ive tamed the beast a few times now and never once had a problem, so i thought i would share my tacs with you all.
I took along a few haste items i had in the bank and used an Elixir of Lightning Speed, Alltogether i had around 550 haste.
When you enter the beasts room in the top left corner you will see a big pile of straw, position yourself in that corner against the walls. once you get there the beast will come out and start to patrol. Wait untill he passes you and gets a few yds away (but within taming range) then use the following macro's
macro 1
/cast bestial wrath
/script PetAbandon()
macro 2
/use potion of speed
/use ( any haste trinket that you have) i used Shard of the Crystal Heart
/cast Tame Beast
Im not a troll but you could also add your racial to the 2nd macro for a faster tame.
I hope this post helps anyone thinking of taming him
happy hunting

Tamed him about an hour ago, on the 4th or 5th attempt, following the guide in the post above. But be aware of his typo in Macro 1. "Beastial Wrath" is spelled without the first 'a'! That cost me one of my throw away pets.

Re: Jesus the Beast was hard to tame. :p
Sorry for the typo mate it has been corrected, gz with ya new pet.
