[13189] Can't get to Uldum tigers?

The new patch (13189) is out, and so far I haven't found a single new thing to tame, or any colour-changers that are fixed, but I'm still looking.

What I did notice, however, is that there is now phasing around Neferset City in Uldum. If you've done the quest chain to re-take the city then you won't see all the hostile NPCs there (or rather you will till you get close.... phasing in Uldum is a bit inelegant so far, and things fade in and out all the time!)

What this means is that the orange "gem model" tigers vanish when you get close to them and are likely to therefore now be unattainable for hunters that have completed the quest chain. Has anyone else found this? Or found an alternative source of them in Uldum? As far as I remember they only occurred in Neferset City itself.

Unrelated but of interest, King Phaoris, leader of the Ramakhen, now has a lion pet that is styled after the new Alliance guild mount. In earlier builds he had a common black tiger. Maybe they'll decide to add more of these beasts to the game, but I suspect they just wanted something cool for him. Here's a pic of him:

Even in the wild though their manes are not that big and poofy. I really dislike the shape of this lion since it's head and mane do not appear proportionate to the body of the cat. Looks like, to me, it's mane is so big and poofy that's why it droops it's head cause it can't lift it.
Real lions are full of pride and hold their heads up high.

Tbh tho I would rather have the lion models upgraded. As much as I do love Deimos my white lion on my draenei hunter, I hate the fact when Deimos runs, his mane contorts, his neck and haunches distort and he looks horribly mangled and badly rendered.

It's like alot of pets that need model fixing and tweakings. Even if it's just the skin being fixed.

The new lion looks awesome. But I think it'd look out of place out there in the field with a bunch of beasts (including the lionesses) that still have old skins with lower textures. That, and the guy really does look like he visited a hair stylist that morning

Along similar lines, if you've completed the quests then the Bloodsnarl Hyenas in Uldum also vanish when you get close to them, thanks to phasing. They're the red hyena model (albeit untameable right now). Fortunately there's one close to the edge of the phasing that you can get close to and pull.

Lionesses are actually attracted to dark, huge manes. If he were out in the barrens, he'd be gettin' all the honies.

The model may have a big puffy mane, but it is brown. So he'd be passed up for a lion with a smaller mane if it was nice and dark ;3 Darker manes mean they have the better genetics to pass onto the cubs.

On topic... I so want one of them gem tigers, I'll have to remember not to do that chain before I can grab one.

Just a note: if they decide to keep the phasing and hunters can't get to these tigers, there is a second mob that uses this model and skin: the "Tamed Tol'vir Prowler" in the "Lost City of the Tol'vir" instance. They're right close inside the entrance. Sadly, they aren't currently tameable, but at least they're still reachable and could potentially be made tameable.

In the same instance is Lockmaw, a croc who uses the awesome (and unavailable) CrocodileCataclysmBlack skin. Also untameable I stealthed (camouflaged) right up to him without having to kill a single thing in the instance.
