[13202] Tameable transparent grey worg
Due east of Darrowshire, in the hills, is a grey transparent worg called "The Lone Hunter". He appears to be a corpse but will jump up and attack when you get close.
He's also tameable and keeps his transparent, ghostly effect when tamed:

Oh man, I am SERIOUSLY going to consider shifting Hector to this skin, just to match Atalanta (these two have been my nearest and dearest raiding pets).
Lovely find! (And no, I don't recall seeing this before.)

So when this hits, if you want him get `em while you can, better safe than sorry imo.

Mmmm, not exactly the same situation, so I'm inclined to disagree on this one.Ryai wrote:I wouldn't get my hopes up that he'll stay tameable for long once it hits live; it could be another pet like Ghost Hydra/Slime/Ghost Dile.

The Lone Hunter is a wolf with a wolf skin. The ghost hydra and slime were completely unintentional tames, as they're different species than they appear to be. The only one of the three who could have remained tameable was the ghost crocodile, but because the others became untameable, it was probably easier to just block him as well.
There are other tameable quest mobs (Winna's Kitten comes to mind), so my gut says this one's intentionally available.

This could actually be Blizzard trying to fix the ***up they did with Ghost wolves.
Now I don't know how to feel about it.

Re: [13202] Tameable transparent grey worg
Maybe Blizz figured that they'd see if the appeal was that particular ghost wolf vs. this one. After all, OCJ is highly sought after himself. Or Blizzard really REALLY only wants the coyote ghosts to be associated with shamans, but wasn't going to take away the hard-won puppies and didn't want to deny hunters a ghost wolf forever.Ryai wrote:No i mean it could be the 'Well we promised them a ghost wolf and they keep quoting us, lets give them a ghost wolf again'. Meaning instead of really fixing the problem they're distracting us with a different pet- no offense it is somewhat interesting, but I've always wanted a spectral ghost wolf ever since I saw them for the tauren spirit guide quest and in SFK.
It's something, anyway, which is better than nothing, which we've had for a good stretch of time.

I wasn't on any quest. I could just tell he was a quest mob by the "!" on this portrait. Because he's a quest mob he respawns fast at leastPent wrote:Question: Do you have to be on the quest to see him? Or is he always around?

And the wolf model you like is actually a Coyote.Antares wrote:Anyone else not thrilled by the worg model? I think they look like boxes. Much more into the superfast-looking wolf model. Don't get me started on the Northrend mouth-breathers...
To the OP: I thought thread was going to be about the Grimtotem Spirit Guide model. I was getting excited because I thought Blizz was bringing it back!
Yeah this isn't supposed to be a I hate this model, doesn't anyone else dislike it too? thread.
Actually no it really isn't, no offense or anything Kalli- it's not like the grimtotem spirit wolf, or the ghost creatures from the oracle quest, atleast anything outside of the ghost dile- because even while I do love the ghostly effects, it's just a transluscent grumpy old man stomping about EPL.It's something, anyway, which is better than nothing, which we've had for a good stretch of time.

Re: [13202] Tameable transparent grey worg
- Original "ghost wolf" looks like the shaman spirit wolves.
- Having a transparent coyote would look like a shaman's wolf form.
- This is a happy median that doesn't have anything to do with shamans.

I'm not personally fond of the model, but the fact that it's OCJ's colors but in a ghostly form is quite neat, indeed.
