Goodbye Basin!

Unread post by Bytail »

At last I get to add my own Krush story along with all the other amazing stories :D To those still hunting, keep at it and don't loose hope!!

I've heard the horror stories of fear, griefing, the dead dinos, the steals, the tames right before you got there and I told myself I would never go after him even thou green's my thing, I have a green can-opener just to name a few things ^^' So where have I been for the last few weeks, yup, the basin. I decided I wasn't going to circle in a hunt for him and made myself a camping spot, had to deal with a few idiots telling me they were there for the kill if he spawned and I could tame the next one to crop up. So you guessed it, camping camping, oooo roic, camping, bored, go skin some things, back to camping, been at it for about 2 weeks without any luck. Tonight I figure, I'll watch some Bleach and just sit my little hunter up and look at the screen now and again.

...and I almost missed him too, minimized youtube to check Wow and my mouse hovered right over something big and very green. Dumped my sleeping cat off my lap when the rare npc alarm went off ^^; I was shaking so bad, I forgot all the rules going into this tame, forget even trying to get a screenshot XD dug up all my bags looking for a haste potion I'd saved away, checked around to see if anyone was around and there sat a ally DK just a little ways away. Not good. I marked Krush, dove in there, gulped potion and just starting taming in horror that the dino was going to be killed from under me. Meter going down, expecting his nasty fear to hit me or the DK to kill him and suddenly... mine.

Its 5am in the morn' here, I may have woken up the neighbors with my cheers heh. Whoever that ally DK was on US bloodhoof server, thank you!!!

Yeah, my Loque, Kurken, and King Dred all have no Dash. I figured I would use that "extra" talent point to grab Boar's Speed, as a mini-compensation until Blizz fixes it. ;)

Very nice! I heard yesterday that one of the hunters who was helping me pass the time while waiting for Krush got a Krush of her very own mid-afternoon. :)

The next thing she got was a hunter whispering her who was angry and jealous because he'd been "trying for over a month" to get him. Funny thing, neither of us recall seeing him waiting for Krush while we were out there. Hmm...

Congrats to you!

Well it might very well be true, though that doesn't justify him raining on her parade. When I got my Loque I tamed him literally 30 seconds before another hunter logged in on top of me. Instead of being angry, he said "awesome, now I know when to come back" and traded me some fireworks so we could have a dance and fireworks celebration! There's absolutely no reason to get angry when someone else got there before you, that's RNG for ya. Congrats to your buddy! :D

Yeah, I have a very similar mindset.

If I had logged in to see someone taming Krush, I would have been mildly sad that I had logged in a split second too late, but congratulated them, made a note of the time, and come back in 6-8 hours. When this other hunter and I were camping at the same time, I was by the big pile of bones and she was killing Mammoths down by the Glimmering pillar. If Krush had spawned there, she would have gotten him first, and I'd have been happy for her. It was just RNG that he spawned by the bones and she had logged off for dinnertime.

The thing that makes me a bit angry is when people know that a hunter has been searching for days and they kill it. Or people killing the other spirit beasts just for the heck of it when they're not on the achievement. If another hunter tames it, good for them!

It's easy to be grumpy and frustrated just missing a tame, especially if you've waited ages (I was heart broken missing Aotona to someone by THREE MINUTES >< and another time by an hour) but I congratulated them anyway. They were nice enough folks, even if the RNG wasn't in my favor. One was even gracious enough to show me where Loque was later. :D I <3 my swirly (no longer laser) cat.

His standard timer seems to be 6-8 hours. 4 *might* be possible, but I'd honestly look around 5-6.

Thanks guys -^^- and congrats to those who have their very own neon bright dino as well :D

But yes, I completely agree on ppl griefing those who won a tame over someone else or where there at just the right moment. I returned to Dal only to be pelted by a few glass bottles by another hunter, they wouldn't even talk to me when I asked what they were doing oy. And I had another person whisper that the green devilsaur was the ugliest pet they'd ever seen and they killed it every time they saw it in the basin 0_0 I mean, seriously, why do ppl have to be so rude. If I saw another hunter with a rare I was going for, I cheer them on because I know what a hard tame it is.

That might explain why Nalorakk (Arc) has taken a few hits from bottles today. >_< How rude!
