Spiny Raptors, et al.
Do you think Blizzard will replace the current Outland model raptor with the proposed Spiny Raptor today?
I'd like to think do what they did with the proto drakes...

Man I wish. That is by far my favorite pet.
Though I'm pretty sure we would have seen it on beta by now if they were going to add this one...
EDIT: here's the image for even more convenience:

I think it's probably a little late for new stuff that looks exactly like the concept art. Much easier just to use old models. Disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. How many new models do we really see with each new expansion?
Not that many, really.

It's way too late, even if it did exist, but the model has never existed. It was just a piece of concept art. The problem of them releasing concept art is everyone starts to expect they'll become reality.

Besides, not everyone likes those raptors......so replacing the current with those would cause an uproar anyway. It'd have to be places somewhere different entirely.

Well yes, but they release concept art to get people pumped up for the expansion, so there is a positive aspect in it for them, they just need to be careful about which concept sketches they make public... which it doesn't look like they were in this case (ditto for the two headed fire turtle thing)...Wain wrote:The problem of them releasing concept art is everyone starts to expect they'll become reality.

Only if they replaced all of them including the originals in Outland, and the ones in Zul'Drak, which was never proposed, so no there would be no reason for an "uproar"... also, (honestly) how many people have you heard enthusing wildly about being able to have an OL raptor in the early levels? Nary a one that I can recall, and certainly nothing in even the same hemisphere as the enthusiasm shown for Gezarack or even the spirit wolf.Taluwen wrote:Besides, not everyone likes those raptors......so replacing the current with those would cause an uproar anyway. I'm still hoping their art dept. can strip the saddles and harness off the basic riding raptors and make beasts of them. While they're not as exotic as the concept-art spiny ones, they do look wilder and more primitive than the standard raptor model, and the models already exist at least. For example, imagine this guy without harness:

I never liked that model, what with the undershot jaw, sad eyes and protruding horn.
The skin, however, I utterly ADORE. I love the colors!

Just because you feel people dont like the OL raptors as much doesn't make that a fact, sorry to point out.Worba wrote:Only if they replaced all of them including the originals in Outland, and the ones in Zul'Drak, which was never proposed, so no there would be no reason for an "uproar"... also, (honestly) how many people have you heard enthusing wildly about being able to have an OL raptor in the early levels?
