Ghost running

Unread post by Gimlion »

Is ghost running still viable in 4.0.3a? I'd like to know, b/c if it isn't, I don't particularly want to waste my time trying to run to my Springpaw, or Gilnean Croc/Fox.

It was nerfed before this patch, so no, it's not viable anymore. :/

I had ran all the way to Stormwind when I found out. Crushing :"( Now I don't know if I'll ever get my moth for my Undead. *cries* Or half of the pets I want!

No, now you need to corpse jump. Run until you die, and come back and go again until it jumps you to the next GY. I got my lynx that way.

I feel this isn't getting the attention it deserves, Ghost Running was a staple of my Hunter'ing, sooo many of the low lvl pets i've gotten over the years, and many on my list for my new Hunter crew require a pretty long trek! I know, I know, it was a cheat, blah blah, but now that the boat to Darnassus sails from Stormwind, it will be impossible to get to Azurmyst and Darnassus. I'm just really gutted because I was so excited for my new Hunters and had spent months planning pets. I had to go to new Servers to get the names I wanted, and patient people are hard to find at the best of times. /mourn

It's not impossible. It's just trickier. Flying mounts will make a good number of issues obsolete. We did a mini-guild run to Azuremyst with a level 10 hunter a few nights back. We had waterwalking and crusader aura to counter the fatigue timer. The level 85 guards were a bit painful, as were the level 90 ones outside the very beginning starting area section, but the tan moth was obtained. That's just one way of doing it. Running in through the Stormwind side would be a hell of a corpse run, but it's doable as well. Grats on level 85 sharks though. >_>

Some people go for rares regardless of whether the skin is common or not, I go for pets which are unique to my level. I want a blue moth on my new Undead Hunter, I have the tan one on a different one, and she has become a one of a kind sort of pet, so it has to be the blue one, I'm going to name it Flower :D . I wonder if I die under the Stormwind boat, if the guards will attack me when I rez? Won't know until I try I guess. If it doesn't work, then I hope Stags never become tamable, because I'd be Devastated if I couldn't get one for a Tauren  Stags were second on my tamable wishlist.
