Horde Holiday Woes
I have some bad news for us Horde players....
With this new patch, it's become pretty much impossible to even get to Darnassus and Exodar, let alone barely touch Stormwind and Ironforge without getting our faces beaten in by lvl 85 elite guards....and I don't mean just one....I mean like atleast 5+ on your tail, then 12 more waiting for you by the feasting table. It's unreal...x.x; I talked to a GM about it and apparently....a lot of people are ticketing about it so obviously something ain't right but it wont be fixed in time, I don't think.
Alliance needn't worry. It's cakewalk on Alliance-side. I did it on Lisaara without a problem or hitch.
EDIT: I only capped the important part of the convo. the rest was just us rambling on about random things. XD This GM was really fun...and ironically, I had only put that ticket in 10 - 15 minutes prior to this convo. Lol!

Re: Horde Holiday Woes
You can get to Darnassus by water walking across - apparently there's an access point on the island where you only get two guards on you and can get through the portal, which sends you to the Dolanaar graveyard. Yeah, it's a res sickness and durability loss, but you'll end up on the "right" side of Darnassus to easily access the tables. As for Exodar... I guess you'll have to water walk from Darkshore again and take the boat from Rutheran? Painful.
The only one people are really complaining about is Ironforge though, from what I've seen. Just cause it should be easy but it isn't because of the new guards.
Personally, I've decided not even to try. I'd love for Sakara to have the Pilgrim title (her whole quest for redemption and all that) but At level 65? Screw that.

Much gratitude to Spiritbinder for the signature and Vephriel for the avatar! <3

Re: Horde Holiday Woes
Did this successfully last night. Its doable, but tricky. Anyone who's an old school explorer already knew this
Stormwind tables - easymode. its right out front. STAY OFF THE ROADS!!!
To: Stormwind Harbor - head to westfall. head to the northern beach. Pop a water walk pot and mount. Head across the water north to the harbor and take the boat that docks in the first pier. This leads you...
To: Darnassus - de-equip everything (or prepare for a bill). sneak around to the far side of the new Rutheran village island and hit the portal tree from the back. Port in. Die. Easy amirite? Res at spirit healer. Sneak along the northern side of the pass that leads to darnassus (the bridge looking archway) to avoid guards. Two ways to proceed here:
To Exodar A: Once finished, mount up and head along the craftsman's terrace north. Watch out for the treant patrol cause now he hits like a truck. Rush the portal. Die on the other side. Run back from Darkshore. Kinda annoying but if you stay in the shallows as far west as you can go and THEN go north, you easily can avoid the fatigue. Rez up and use the West dock to get to Exodar
To Exodar B: Head back into noob nightelf area and head for the southern border. Ready your safefall, levitate, parachute, what-have-you and jump off a branch in the direction of Rutheran village. The outskirts and water area aren't well guarded, so just stay clear of the portal and main path. Take the west docked night-elf brand ship to:
Exodar: Jump early to avoid guards. Head to just south of the main exodar flightpaths and peak in from the north. You can sneak up through this area, along the ground in front of the ramp to the flightpath, to hit the tables. Then hearth.
To Ironforge. Best way now is Hearth to Org, Zepp to Tirisfal and grab the Brill Flightpath down to Tauren Mill, grab the Galen's fall flight path on your trek south and head towards Dorf lands. Very few things have changed regarding your run south. Dun Modr's guards are nice and 30ish. Take the northern gate pass and head up to the gates of
Ironforge. Now, get ready to die. Alot. You have to make it up the long ramp leading to the gate of ironforge, immediately making a right before the gates to hit the tables. Try to die on one of the middle/back tables as its going to take some trial and error, picking a seat that doesn't agro a guard. Spirit healer is right frickin here, so corpse walk is 10 feet.
Took a bit of doing and quite a bit of a repair bill (i'm stubborn like that) but it wasn't all that bad. Completely doable if you have some patience. Seriously though, this is the only week we can do this achieve this year and we can't even start leveling really until launch first week of Dec. Combined with the loss of city portals, its rough getting around these days. Oh well, its all just transitory and won't even be remembered in a couple weeks.

I don't really feel like this is so much the "Post-Modern" era as much as its the "Pre-Zombie-Apocalpse" era. I consider myself more of a forward thinking guy and an era that just won't die is just as feasible as a coming era, where the dead come back.
Re: Horde Holiday Woes
The repair bill isn't worth it. Not with everyone having to pay Plate prices now and the very high probability of getting corpse camped by Alliance (who don't exactly have anywhere else to sit since Dalaran is now a ghost town)
Re: Horde Holiday Woes
Fun fact. The GM misspelled surprise.
On topic, yeah. Poor Horde. I'm Ally, so it doesn't affect me as much, but it does seem a bit unfair.

Re: Horde Holiday Woes
I was fortunate enough to come across two fellow Horde players on my trip to Darnassus, and was able to do it with ease. I'd already done Stormwind thanks to Goldshire, and Exodar was easily done (or so I believed.)
The Ironforge run was a veritable nightmare. Half an hour to get there, and when we did we ran into Ironforge. A run back from half the zone later, we discovered the tables outside. The guards did not like us. 15 Deaths later, my friend managed to grab a seat and got the achievement. I grabbed one too, but no achievement. Had to run back to Exodar because I hadn't gotten that one somehow.
Just really thankful I had a few days left to do it.

Re: Horde Holiday Woes
Damn....I'm kinda happy now that I did this part of the Meta on my level 70 mage BEFORE the patch. It was already damn near impossible then; I can't imagine how tough it'd be NOW. XP

Re: Horde Holiday Woes
@Epic: While it may be doable for some, most cant without being mauled. Guards are everywhere on the docks too and are lvl 85 elites. People cant get on there either anymore. This also proves the alliance has this achievement much easier(not hating, just stating a fact).
