I've had Loque'Nahak for a long time and managed to get the other three as well.
This weekend it clicked when I was questing and soloing Magister's Terrace HC. No pet feels as much like a buddy as a Spirit Beast that saves your ass with a nicely timed cast of Spirit Mend. It's great ! He casts it on himself when he is in trouble and on you when you are in trouble. I am definately levelling to 85 with Loki at my side ! And the Glyph means that neither of us need food. Yay for bigger bags !

I've had the most awesome reactions having Guido loping about with me, and throwing a Spirit Heal on people who need a little mending! I get a couple o.O and a few 'WTF?' now and then. And he came to my MGT soloes as well, to help with the arena battle. Well-placed heals against those five is the best way of keeping going!
I love my spirit beasts. I have yet to get Arc, though.
I usually use my worm to tank for the awesome burrow ability and oftentimes don't even need heals if I happen to get aggro 'cause I FD, pop burrow and win. hehe
Then I heal myself. I don't even buy food anymore! D:
