Aspect of the Seagull

Unread post by Teigan »

I had the greatest PUG last night. Ever!
So, I brought Tiberius, my seagull out for leveling and decided to run randoms. What's the first thing that pops? Halls of Reflection. Doh! But, I tell them, sorry, but I'm leveling my seagull. And then they see him throwing his tiny self at things and making raucous seagull noises. And Tiberius begins to get some fans...One person said something to the order of "I take back everything I said about that seagull! Don't you dare put him away!" And it got better from there on out. We got the achievement "We're Not Retreating; We're Advancing in a Different Direction" and the seagull pecked the Lich King in the face. After that, the Cult of Tiberius was born.
Two people from the original PUG stuck with me and Tiberius the whole time, as "we must have faith in the seagull."
It was hilarious and insane. At one point, we vote kicked someone for not like the seagull!
After work, I'll post some screenies. :D
On a less exciting note, anyone else have a seagull? Seems like Tiberius is dragging his lil gull feet on leveling. Wondering if his xp is glitching somehow.

I think they nerfed the experience in heroics? And now I might have to give the little guy another try :}

Yes, I have a Seagull. His name in Mine.

He's strictly for killing Alliance in the Battlegrounds, as nothign is more satisfying the killing with a Seagull.

Alfred Hitchcock would be proud.

I know they lowered exp for characters, but I'm wondering if pet exp is bugged (perhaps because we the hunters aren't receiving experience ourselves?). I leveled somewhere around 6 pets to 80 a day before the hotfix and it only took one or two heroics per pet. Now I'm not seeing any sort of leveling progress in heroics. I decided to go try grinding it out the old fashioned way but haven't had a chance to log in yet.

Oh and, on topic. I had a seagull that guildies wanted me to name DERP. Our tank buddy was not very pleased with most of my pets (Huhuran is huge, and Chrom seems to like to tank even with taunts off), but when I brought out the gull he was exceptionally displeased at the sound it made. I chuckled a little bit.

Err... ok. I really hope the person did something more to deserve being kicked than simply expressing dislike for your seagull? :|

Pet exp isn't bugged, they nerfed the amount of exp our pets are getting in 80 heroics. It's been discussed in a different thread I believe.

And I agree with Worba. I try not to kick people unless they really deserve it, so I hope it was more than just dislike of a pet.

I also sure do hope so. There's a difference between being funny and being plain rude and mean, and I believe you crossed it. -.-

I don't think they kicked him for just disliking it. I bet it was more like "stupid seagulls I hate them DIE" kind of dislike. Then he was the first to be rude.

Still not a valid reason to kick someone though. As long as he was doing his job, there's no reason to kick him. That would be like giving me a permaban on these forums for saying that foxes are pests (which they are!).

Eh. I just find it a really stupid reason to kick someone.

In my opinion, expressing hatred for a pet does not warrant a kicking unless they personally attacked the owner of the pet.

Seagull might be the new PvP choice over flamingo for the "I got ganked by...what?!" award.

Eh. I just find it a really stupid reason to kick someone.
Sometimes, it's very situational. I've initiated a (successful) votekick in a Blackfathom Deeps (or w/ever the dungeon with Ghamoo-ra is called) because he (the healer) was pestering a hunter for doing bad DPS. On the surface, that sounds stupid.

However, I tried to get him to let it go, when he started linking Recount and started getting pretty nasty towards the hunter. My impression was that he wanted to force out the hunter to get a better DPS, and had a feeling that given how his tank was already defending the hunter, a votekick of said hunter wouldn't work. Was the hunter bad? He was terrible; turns out he had run out of ammo partway through. Was he causing wipes? No. I initiated the kick when our healer was holding up the group over this issue.

If you ask me, complaining isn't a reason for kicking. Harassment, however, is.
