Greetings from Araela, Blood Elf Hunter of Korgath!

When WoW-Peopia had come out with the new pets for Cataclysm, I naturally was drooling over most of them. One in particular I grew very fond of and that was Terrorpene. I had not seen much information on him at all, however, I decided to take a look each day and see if any new information had come out regarding roughly where he spawned in Mt. Hyjal. I finally decided to google it and I found another thread someone posted in Beta regarding taming this pet. I decided to keep an eye out while my husband and I were questing in the zone.

Here are some facts:

I was level 82 when I tamed Terrorpene.
I found him at the Throne of Flame in Mt. Hyjal at 2:20am PST Dec 8th on the realm Korgath.
I tried to tame once just to see what he would do and I promptly died. Why? He does about 10k damage per second with a ranged fire breath attack. Needless to say he is not overly happy about someone trying to take him out of his natural environment!
I had my husband with me, and he was on his prot pally. He threw up resist aura and threw a divine light my way part way through the tame.
I also used the Elixir of Lightening Speed and popped a haste potion before taming.

I oh so barely got this tame and was fighting with another hunter who saw me trying to tame him and tried to take it from me. He died and came back, tried again just as I got back from a death and my husband got there. Once he died again, I got the tame off and Terrorpene was mine. My husband rezzed the other hunter and he went on his way. I do wish him the best of luck taming this pet if he is reading this.

Terrorpene has all of the same abilities as the regular turtle tenacity pets as far as I can tell.

I have no idea what the spawn time is on this guy but I hope some of this information helps!

I posted two screenshots- one of the map and location of where I found him, and one of me with him!

I named him Tosk since all of my pet names are Star Trek themed. It seemed to fit!

Edit: Okay, I just talked with another hunter who tamed him at 4pm server time (when I tamed him, it was 4am server time) so I'm guessing on a 12 hour spawn but I don't know for sure.

i want this guy sooooo bad! Thank you for posting this information,really will be useful when I'm able to tame him(still 80 atm).
On to the off topic,tame-stealing hunter: Really? Your husband rezzed him,and you wish him good luck taming him in the future?
Seriously? Then you and your hubby are saints...I would have danced on his corpse and used some choice words for him when he came back.Maybe thats just my PMS talking,but i take tame stealing as the worst thing a hunter can do to another hunter.Especially if it's a same faction hunter.
I've had Skoll locked in a tame 5 times now,and 4 of those times,another Ally hunter has swooped in and killed/or stolen my tame.Only once did a hordie do it.It just hurts more when it's your faction,i swear. I will get Skoll one day,just not ready yet,i guess.

Oh, I love when we get actual stories of tames. Thanks for sharing with us! And he is one fierce looking beast. I have never been fond of turtles, but for this one? I may have to go looking.

I actully killed terrorpene soon as the beta started to test how strong he was needless to say it took me and 2 others

and he is hard he doesnt drop anything but a gray the sells for 25g so when i was 82 i had a feeling like he would be there the next day and he was needless to say he killed me my first tame so know he is so hard to kill i left him

went tamed a core hound went back used ancient hysteria
with a speed pot
trolls beserking
and i used the corded skeleton key trinket which helped a lot
I tamed him with about 15k hp left
soon as i started the tame the server lagged so that may have helped me too
but i named mine Deathshell seeing how he looks like deathwing but a turtle

that's what i quest with and run instances with because he comes in handy when the tank drops he tanked 2nd boss in throne of the tides from 90% because tank was a baddie i love this pet

On a side note i went and found Ghostcrawler on my server to see if he was there and he was but he despawned soon after i found him so i guess he doesn't stay around till someone tames him a helpful tip for people looking i guess ill go came him soon as i hit 85 I'm 83 now

Gratz on the Terrorpene tame you 2, Also to anyone thinking he's a freeze trap away from a tame is mistaken. He's just like taming King Krush before 4.0 patch. Good luck to all the other hunters trying to get him before 85.

Just tamed him a few minutes ago. No party required

At 85 with 90k+ Hp - the DoT is no problem. Tame pet didn't get pushed back, didn't even go below 50k

Thanks everyone! And no problem please take any information you want. Once Wowhead and Thottbot get him in the system I plan to post the same post there. I know other hunter's stories have helped me find tames so it's the least I can do.

I also got this lovely little bugger!

Having totally not prepared myself for Cata, I went "Ohh, I want one!" when I saw Nemesis. After founding out he was not tameable I went here to petopia to see if there was a tamable one. And there was, but all the links turned out to be dead ends since he isn't in any of the databases yet. So I thought I'd dig through the forums to see if anyone has any directions to this "Terrorpene" and behold, he has his own topic!

Feeling bold, I jumped on my roflcopter and flew to the lake surrounding Sulforon Spire and there he was! When I touched down I was joined by an orcish deathknight a few seconds later... A /no and /beg fell on deaf ears and he summoned his army of the dead and attacked, only to be blasted down a few seconds later. I yelled less hard in joy when I first downed Deathbringer Saurfang *grin*.

A fellow guildie was questing in MH and came to my aid. I first got some aggro by damaging Terrorpene and then started to tame while my friendly priest spamhealed me through the firedamage.

Proof comes if I ever make it through the queue today.
