Re: Did they fix pet XP?
where were you questing? I'm in Vash'jir and my pets level pretty quickly. Anywhere else besides Cata stuff is a waste of time, I think D: (unless you aren't 80 of course).

Re: Did they fix pet XP?
I had only experienced broken pet XP in WotLK heroics. They'd nerfed XP gains in there (I assume for players + pets both, likely to keep people from simply levelling in old content?).

It's broken for me in the new zones. My pet has 0 new XP. He and I am lvl 80.

Re: Did they fix pet XP?
Only problem is that they made it to where you get almost no xp in WotLK content at 80, and Cata content at 85. This also affects our pets. So while you're leveling with your pet, he'll level normal with you, but once you cap out again it won't level much anymore no matter what you're doing.
I know why I'm smiling, but why is everyone else??

Your pet won't get new XP until he's a level below you and can start leveling again.Itchiyaya wrote:It's broken for me in the new zones. My pet has 0 new XP. He and I am lvl 80.

This must of been a change since BETA ended cause toon at 85 my pets were leveling pretty good there.Jaraii wrote:Only problem is that they made it to where you get almost no xp in WotLK content at 80, and Cata content at 85. RejoiceWe recently made a change to the way experience is calculated and wanted to take some time to explain this change in order to clear up some confusion some may be having in regard to their rate of progress. If you are currently at the maximum level that you can be for an expansion (or higher), killing creatures from that expansion will now grant 10% of normal experience.
Examples:
* Level 60 or higher players get 10% normal experience for killing creatures in Azeroth (“Old world” content)
* Level 70 or higher players get 10% of normal experience for killing Burning Crusade creatures.
* Level 80 or higher players get 10% of normal experience for killing Lich King creatures.
* Level 85 or higher players get 10% of normal experience for killing Cataclysm creatures.
What does this mean for those that have Cataclysm and are leveling up new characters? This means that you will gain normal experience through to level 60 and will then need to move on to The Burning Crusade zones until you reach level 70 and Wrath of the Lich King zones until you reach level 80. Once you reach 80, it is expected that you will be continuing your leveling adventures in the new Cataclysm zones and dungeons. We have made this change so that players will continue to progress through the appropriate content for their level versus grinding on quick re spawns in a less ideal location.
This change will also affect hunter pets and their leveling rate if the player is at max level, however, this is an unintended change that we will be addressing in the future.

Re: Did they fix pet XP?
I haven't been in the game yet but as of last night my pet who was still two or three levels lower then my toon and was not gaining any XP and by the time I logged out I had gone from 35% to 67%. My pet was still at zero. So I hope it's fixed tonight.

Re: Did they fix pet XP?
From going to 80 - 85 my pets were levelling fine (used terrorpene for questing and oily wolf for instances) and they levelled not long after I did, at 85 they are also levelling fine, did a Grim Batol run last night with my sexy Aotona out which was level 83 and at the end of the run it dinged 85 so looks like it's fixed for cata.

Re: Did they fix pet XP?
I've leveled several pets up sense I hit 85 and they are gaining xp VERY fast in normal 5-man runs. I was gaining all three levels on one run most of the time (depending on how many trash mobs).
I'll report back about heroics tomorrow.
