King Krush question (GOT HIM!)

Since he can potentially spawn right next to Nesingwarys camp will the guards kill him? D:

I've been camping him for like two days and asking in general in sholazar and nobodies even seen him. While I've gotten Loque for myself and a friend.

Yes, they can, and will when he gets too close.

Yep, if he's engaged (or even wanders) too close to the camp the guards will kill him.

I personally never actually saw him spawn around there though. Once I tamed him and once I killed in a group for achieve (after checking no hunters in the zone wanted him), both times in the southern half of the basin, once by the pillar near Pitch and once by the other pillar down there, near the oracle camp. ^_^

That's not cool :\ why did Blizzard have to put him in spots that are heavy questing areas and then make it so guards can kill him if he gets too close

Yes, I had him spawn so he would patrol right past the camp. I was in luck though, and somehow he avoided the guards and I was allowed to continue my taming attempts all the way to the lake in the North.

I spent 40 hours total camping him before I finally found him (not 40 hours straight lol). I found him at the southeastern spawn point by the hive. I heard from a friend that their hunt for Krush was successful, only to have him mid tame be killed by the nesingwary npcs.

I dunno. Both times I found him, he was nowhere near there - first time he was hanging out with Shango, 2nd time he was with Farunn (quite the social butterfly is our Krush).

I've been leaving subtle hints to myself so that I know if anyone is questing in the area he spawns in I've been shooting the tick bird on farunns horn since the bird doesnt come back unless someone kills farunn. But eesh no one in general in sholazar is helpful at all I offered 200g for any information leading to a tame but nothing yet.

I have seen KK spawn next to the camp twice in my times leveling. Once, he wandered on past the guards without them giving a second look in his direction. The 2nd time I saw this event happen though, apparently the guards decided to go all Jurassic park on him.

Yeah, he can - and I've heard of the guards killing him. I tamed him by the glimmering pillar (The place I suspected least...) and he feared me into Farunn. They proceeded to tag team and go Hulkamania on poor Novi. She went splat. I almost had a heart attack running back to my body. Thanks to a friendly roving dwarf priest, I managed to tame him.

Edit: But don't worry, buck up! At least the Basin is way more empty now. You'll get your green dino.

I spent two weeks camping for King Krush before Cata. On the day after Cata was released I was able to spawn "The King" using the following method. I'm not going to go too deep into detail here, but I assure you that you will get Krush if you follow this.

1. Download Rare Spawn Overlay addon.
2. Log in and wait at ONE of Krush's known spawn sites. I recommend the one close to the Glimmering Pillar. Also bind yourself at Nessingwary's.
3. Every hour, on the hour, if Krush hasn't spawned at your camp site, do one lap around the zone. If you don't find him,
4. Travel to the other zones using Rare Spawn Overlay and check other rare spawns. Kill them as you see them.
5. Ten minutes before the hour, hearth and wait. Repeat steps 3 - 5.

Why I believe this works:

Every spawn I have ever killed in Sholazar spawned either 3 minutes before or 3 minutes after the hour. EVERY one of them. I killed Loque 5 times and tamed him once. Each time I saw him was just minutes after the hour. When I started this method, I noticed that other rare spawns that were not up when I made the first pass magically appeared one hour later, when I made the next Northrend rare spawn pass. Even Loque spawned on the hour right in front of my face. Eventually, I tamed Krush when he, too, spawned at exactly 4:58 right in front of me at the Glimmering Pillar. The day I tamed Krush, I killed 12 other Northrend rares - each of them only once. I am a firm believer that each of the Northrend rares are on a cycle and will not spawn until the others have been cycled. I also believe that the rares will spawn on the hour when their time is up.

Give this a chance. Try this method just one day and see for yourself.

The best place to tame him (that I've found) is in the area south of the Glimmering Pillar near where that quest rhino spawns. He pats around down there. I've left my hunter up there with npcscan on and logged in at random times and had Krush within a few days.

WOO! I got him near the Bones by Nesingwarys camp. I see him and I panic and I start taming he knocks me back and then fears me and whoops my ass so I feign. I try again same thing. Try again SAME THING and he just kept getting closer and closer to the camp and I was freaking the hell out. I sent my trash pet in abandoned tried to tame ass whooped again. I thought for sure the guards had him. I run back I have no more pets to throw away I put my back against a rock and hit tame. Was a gut wrenching last few ticks but then he finally shrunk down and I got em!

Kinda felt like I was gonna throw up. Now I just need a suitable name considering the nerve wracking experience he gave me.
