Camping Madexx and was thinking....
With all these non-hunters flying around his spawn points, is there a 1 button macro that will target Madexx, drop freezing trap and cast tame that works? I(we) will need all the quickness we can get to not see our future buddies and companions get slaughtered for a gray item!

I am also trying to use camouflage as much as possible, to not show my presence to would be pet murderers, but its hard when the wind puts me in combat all the time out here! >.<

Hmm, I don't think you could do all that in one macro, but you could have one that targets and one that /cast concussive shot /cast freezing trap /cast tame beast or something?
Sweet idea though :3

Re: Camping Madexx and was thinking....
I would first ask them why they are in the area and if they reply back with "I am hunting for the rare scorpion." then I would ask them why.
The spawn area of Madexx isn't THAT far away from one of the spawn areas of the camel figurine (figurine that has a chance of letting the finder get a grey camel mount). If they aren't there for the scorpion I would ask them if they saw the scorpion if they would let you know if they saw it without killing it.
Some people are butts, but I am sure if you worded the conversation right you would gain another set of eyes helping you out.
If they are there for the scorpion ask them why and tell them it only drops a grey vendor item that isn't worth camping nowadays for non-hunters. Most people can do two dailies and get 25g+.

You wont need a freezing trap though, he doesn't hurt much
(And what wind? I never saw a wind when I camped for him. You sure you're in the right spot?)

There's some kind of bug in Uldum (and now elsewhere in Kalimdor as well) that puts you in combat even if there's absolutely no mobs anywhere nearby.

I noticed that! Weird stuff...erwil wrote:There's some kind of bug in Uldum (and now elsewhere in Kalimdor as well) that puts you in combat even if there's absolutely no mobs anywhere nearby.

I've no suggestion about the Madexx hunt, that's one pet I haven't even begun to worry about taming (though I really, really, really want the blue one eventually) but I like the suggestion of asking outright. If a non-hunter is chasing him, you gotta wonder why since there's nothing in it for them... Perhaps they simply don't know?

Here's the macro I used for all my (successful) Cataclysm tames (I agree you don't really need Freezing Trap at this level):Krondor wrote:With all these non-hunters flying around his spawn points, is there a 1 button macro that will target Madexx, drop freezing trap and cast tame that works? I finished getting all my rares this morning and the one thing when I got Madexx was that he doesn't pat very far, if at all. He just stands there, and the other part is he doesn't hit hard on any level 85.

What a useful macro! I think I shall copy it too, seems far to handy not to have for those tricky tames.Jroaeyl wrote:Here's the macro I used for all my (successful) Cataclysm tames (I agree you don't really need Freezing Trap at this level):Krondor wrote:With all these non-hunters flying around his spawn points, is there a 1 button macro that will target Madexx, drop freezing trap and cast tame that works? Btw, you can take out
/tar Deterrence (because I didn't notice it hasn't been working all along. lol)
Equipping all the haste gear that you can will be of much help instead. Good luck!
