This actually happened yesterday, but I wasn't entirely sure if I should post or not, but I finally decided why not? I apologize for the post being so spammy, but it's hard for me to say what I want to without much detail.

I've been wanting Jadefang ever since Toph dinged 85 a few days ago, and I finally forced myself to completely finish Deepholm, and it turns out that after the first fragment is retrieved, the quests in that zone are actually pretty awesome. Yesterday, the Underground Economy daily was up on my server so after two failed attempts, I finally bombed my way up into Jadefang's cave, but she wasn't up so I ended up having to play the waiting game. To keep myself from being bored, I made some critter bites and played with the little crimson shale hatchling that spawns up there in the cave.

Either the majority of the player base on Shadow Council don't know/care about Jadefang and her baby or I was just really, really lucky, since during the duration of my camp for her, I only ran into six other people (four hunters, a death knight, and a priest) who were also camping her. One hunter made me uncomfortable, so I just logged off so I wouldn't have to fight her for Jadefang if the spider happened to spawn. I'm not a fan of fighting others, hunters or non-hunters, over rares because it's just poor sportsmanship and not civil at all. I ended up talking to two of the other hunters who had their time at camping her and told them both that if I managed to tame her, I'd give them a timer and so I wrote their names down on a piece of paper because I have a pretty shoddy memory when it comes to recalling names. One of these hunters, a night elf, had Sambas. I really like that cat, so I congratulated him through emotes on Toph before switching to one of my Alliance-side alts to talk to him. He didn't stay long, so I switched back to Toph once he told me he had to leave.

The priest who camped her stayed only for a few minutes before she left and a few minutes after she left, Jadefang spawned right behind me and scared the living daylights out of me (believe me, having part of a rare's name suddenly appear right in the middle of your screen in your face is a recipe for a heart attack) and I'm thankful that I managed to keep enough of my wits to remember to tag her and where Tame Beast was on my bars. I have no clue if Jadefang can be trapped, but I was in too big of a hurry to try it because I was absolutely paranoid of somebody else coming in and killing her out from under me despite the fact that I had tagged her.

Once I'd calmed down, I mailed the two hunters I'd spoken to earlier the time I tamed her and wished them both luck and a Merry Christmas. I absolutely adore her and even though I really want her to be reunited with her baby, I don't have the heart to kill Jadefang for the minipet, even more so now that I've tamed her. Everyone on the forum is right, karma does pay you back. That and getting her on Christmas Eve makes Jadefang a very, very special rare to me.

I named her Tyris, and kudos to anyone who can guess where that name comes from!

Congratulations on your pet! I too believe in Karma and getting what you give. If people would be more considerate instead of selfish and rude in this game, the MMO community could maybe repair the stigma that all of the players are greedy, self-absorbed a-holes.
