BM version of what 5 to bring?
So let's assume you are doing heroics.
What is your lineup? I'm looking at Corehound, Shale Spider, Silithid, SpiritBeast/Cat, and Devilsaur.
What are some other opinions on the standard 5 for walking into a random heroic?
(I've also realized since I'm starting heroics that I need to get on the ball and start leveling these up. I have to start leveling a Shale Spider for heroics and raids.. if I wind up getting one to 85, I'm gonna kill Jadefang for the pet first. I'm tired of camping, and gotta have lvl 85 pets ready to go).

Spirit Beast/Cat, Devilsaur/Wolf, Corehound, Shale Spider. Currently 5th slot is left open in case I spot a rare I want. Maybe I'll stick a Dragonhawk in there, IDK.

Oh I am curious as to what people think.
Spirit Beast is my main pet-I love the heal aspect.
Corehound is also on my normal roster.
I don't know what to bring for my final three-I like the fox, cat and turtle-but more for fun, lol. I don't know the most recommended/needed creatures for a raid yet, as my guild is tiny and we do not raid yet.

Well, raids are always gonna be a bit different, because you should be able to find out where the gaps are. But I figure that for BM going into a random heroic, the 5 I listed will cover the most stuff, but I'm interested to see if there's something I'm missing...

Re: BM version of what 5 to bring?
My slots are Thor(worm), Wolf(wolf), Amarok or Kilakura(spiritbeasts), a rotating slot and a free slot for taming. The rotating slot is a pet I'm leveling, I'm bringing specifically for something or I feel like grabbing out of the stable and playing with. Right now it is Cedric my owl since I'm leveling him to 85. The ones I have in that rotating slot most often are Borealis(raptor), Ijaba(hyena), Blitz(carrion bird), Yuraliria(silithid) and a shale spider I haven't named yet.

Kyra (raptor) is my first and never leaves my side, and I always keep a open slot for taming.
Everything else is up for grabs. Earlier, I would've said Tonka (red ape) would be there too just for soloing convenience since dungeons go so fast, but even he's been replaced by my newest, Khepri the purple Uldum beetle.

This is my exact line up (with all exotics). Mostly the Shale Spider incase I need a sudden tank, core hound mostly on boss fights, and the other two will alternate depending on what's in the group.Ziarre wrote:Spirit Beast/Cat, Devilsaur/Wolf, Corehound, Shale Spider. Shale spider
Core Hound
Silithid
Wolf
Spirit Beast
I focus on buffs that other specs can't bring, and also on buffs rather than debuffs. Most debuffs have a cooldown, which means you'd only get it on one or two mobs in a trash pack. Of course if you are setting up a guild group you'll have some idea of what buffs/debuffs are covered before you start, and can stable the ones that won't be needed.

Re: BM version of what 5 to bring?
I can't much argue that list, it's perfectly solid and exactly what I've used myself at times, or swap wolf out for devil....but think outside of the box a little.
Does it necessarily have to be an exotic, even on BM? In the right group, a hyena, pig, or even ravager helps the tank hold threat or the dps get things down quicker, likewise in the correct group composition a windserp or dragonhawk could be invaluable.
I don't agree as much that the debuffs are useless...heroic fights tend to be long enough even on trash to benefit.
I think Davarra right now has Gondria, my shale spider, core hound, fox, and silithid, but there are plenty of others awaiting a chance to play and I'm not flipping to surv just to level em, unless it's what the mood strikes to play.
EDIT: I frequently have Spike the ravager with me anyway, and if someone wants to say I'm a bad for it...oh well. He's an old favorite and I owe him more loyalty than some overgeared meathead stranger.
