Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
Search kept 401'ing on me. Anyway, what's the spawn timer of him after he or Vyragosa has been dropped?
Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I've heard 12 - 36 hrs. Some jerkface on A52 camped him for nearly 8 months and unless you PAYED him, the mount was is, even though he had it already on all 3 or 4 ACCOUNTS (as in, 45 - 60 $$ per month)... But I digress.

ETA; I see he moved on to the new Time Lost. Good thing I think that mount is ugly as sin >_<

He's actually not a jerk. His forum/website is very handy and informative. I even posted my story on his forums as well. On the positive note he gathered TONS of data and gave more insight to this very illusive dragon. That website is the main thing that kept my sanity while I camped for TLPD and after about 11 Vyra spottings/kills I eventually found him. Its not about the look of the mount, but of the achievement of camping for it. Cozzene I would have to disagree with you there I think.
TLPD can spawn minimally after 6 hours of last TLPD / Vyra sighting. For me it was generally around 7-14 hours but it can be a little bit longer. I would recommend sitting ontop of the frozen lake for it.

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I aimed for 6 hours, and even though I rarely saw Vyra again until closer to the 7 hour mark I think it was a good ballpark estimate.
EDIT: I wish I'd known about that site when I was doing my camp. Not that my word's any more trustworthy than his ... but every thing I've seen on that site has been 100% accurate (according to my camping trip, anyways).

Thanks to Pengupuff for the sig!
Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
yeah i know for sure that the Frozen Lake spawn point exists, I killed Vyra 3 times with him spawning directly ontop of me.

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I managed to get mine in Dec '08 and at that time, I didn't actually know about NPC scan so I did it all by spamming a macro. Never ever again *hug NPC scan*. Mine spawned smack bang in the middle of engine on top of me. I never saw Vyra at all on my hunter.
My druid/DK however, when I decided to try the camp a second time, splitting camping between them, saw Vyra many times coming straight out of the mountain where the eagles are/Frosthold above Bors Breath. And I mean coming out of the mountain. One min, no dragon, next min, there is a big blue drake flying out of the rock.

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I'm sure his data is informative, but it's still pretty awful that he forced people to pay for the TLPD. It would suck more if you were on his server, i think.Royi wrote:Cozzene wrote:I've heard 12 - 36 hrs. As for the OP, let us know if you get the drake!
Moderation note: I've edited this post heavily. Cozzene, we do not talk about other people that way here. And we do not ever wish they would die. Period.
I've sent you a PM about this if you have any questions.

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
For the record I helped about 2 TLPDs down for free out of kindness for every 1 I have, and the only time I charged was after about a 5 month camp where I couldn't stand storm peaks anymore and the charging for the people who actually wanted me to help them kept me out of storm peaks.
If it's not obvious by the trash talk + "yeah I use his resources" ... that they are a troll, it may be more so now.

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I have the TLPD on my druid and I used tlpdresource.com - Vyra/TLPD *can* spawn under 6 hours between the last spawn, I know Vyra spawned 5 hours after the time-lost about a week ago. But yeah, tlpdresource is a great website, along with aeonaxxresource.com and notsorare.

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
The site says since the shattering, 45 minutes is the minimum observed between spawns (however super rare it is) -- but yeah

Just stating that without http://tlpdresource.com, I would have never even -got- my own TLPD. I have no experience with the guy myself, even if he is a jerk, that information has helped ALOT of people.

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I made that site
and, I'm actually way too nice. The whole thing with cozzene started when they were looking for skoll, a conversation was taking place and cozzene was even taking part in it - then she started freaking out about the convo and from that point on she talked trash about me whenever she could. *shrug* what can you do?

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I agree. Believe it or not, it took me a grand total of 2 days to get my TLPD because it helped me so much with the spawn timers, spawn points, etc (and of course a lot of luck for the time-lost to spawn after such a short period of time)Mychelle wrote:Just stating that without http://tlpdresource.com, I would have never even -got- my own TLPD. Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I wanted to jump in and say that tlpdresource.com was invaluable for my camping experience. It helped me get my own TLPD, and I've been referencing its sister site for my Aeonaxx hunt. I'd spent a few months camping TLPD on and off until a fellow camper linked to me the site. I pored over it, set my mind to it, and had TLPD within 1 week. That week I'd killed 14 Vyras until my drake finally showed up at the Brunnhildar spawn point. Nearly got taken out by an Alliance warrior who flew by just as I pulled the drake, but I got in my Kill Shot just as the warrior broke out of my Freezing Trap.
I'm still in love with this mount, and oftentimes can't believe I actually have him. So thank you, Ponderance, for all of the helpful research and information!
Good luck on your hunt, Echo; I'm sure your TLPD will find his way to you soon.

And it only took me 4 days to get my TLPD because of that site. So no matter what anyone else says, Ponderance, your cool in my book. =PBritany wrote:I agree. Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I camped Aeonaxx blind, with just NPC Scan and an idea of it's uber rare
But tbh, I was a huge fan of Pond's site, until I posted a thread about the changes to the rare mobs in NE. I provided a SS and just kindly pointed out that mobs such as Vyra and Time Lost are no longer elite (are now too easy to one shot!) and imo they don't seem as large. Pond sort of jumped on me in the thread as if I was questioning some mighty god - even another member appeared to defend what I'd put.
He said it was 'common knowledge' to anyone camping - but what about those considering starting to camp? Or are totally new? ALL info is valid and useful imo -_-
I respect his website, but my opinion of him sunk a little, I felt as if I was telling some huge secret that the rest of the WoW community shouldn't know

Re: Time-Lost Proto Drake Question
I don't personally know Ponderance, all I know is that he's been fabulous in providing us with this information. I would never, ever have dreamed of camping for Aeonaxx before I read that site - it gave me some kind of confidence and it made me think that it wasn't really as hard as it seemed. Same goes for Time Lost. Thanks to that site, the Phosphorescent Drake is mine, and hopefully Time Lost will be soon as well.
So how he acts on his own server is none of my business - But I want to thank him for all the hard work and effort put into that website and bringing us info that no one else could. (Although I do sometimes speculate that the other Northrend spawns may still affect TLPD/Vyra spawns, but I'm unsure so I'm not going to accuse anyone of anything.) I also hope that Pond didn't have to pay too much for the repairs on his damaged car. That looked horrid. :S

Far too harsh. This should never have to be said about anyone. As soon as these kind of words come into a sentence, I instantly don't take you seriously anymore.Cozzene wrote:I hope he dies.
