Jadefang frustrations

Hi there.

New to the forums and have been scanning for Jadefang info. I have been camping him on and off the last 2 days. I keep seeing people mention a chest that pops in the cave. I have not seen it once. I have not seen Jadefang either for that matter...

I am 99.9% sure I am in the right spot. So has anyone else camped him for over say 5 hours and NOT seen a chest?

well i kinda cheated in my tame of jadefang lol. i was able to get to his area without the quest needed lol.

so to answer ur Q no. both the tame and kill for mini pet was instant for me, no camping. sorry

Yeah that's kind of how I intend to do this again for the mini pet...this time however I think I am committed. Or should be committed...either way

I got Jadefang yesterday but it was by pure luck. Funny thing was though I had been camping her for most of the day and hadn't seen a chest or anything spawn. Course the other person who was sitting there with me might have picked the chest up while I was doing a random or something.

I camped Jadefang around 6 hours yesterday and went into 1 random and it popped while I was there....came back to a happy DK with a new little pet.

I never saw a chest when I was camping. However I spent a lot of time not looking at the screen. His spawn timer is 6-15 hours. So I just had my character there and read while waiting for npcscan to go off.

Ironically the first two times he spawned while I was doing dailies in the area and I had the daily quest in my log and jumped up there. Of course it didn't end up being my loot so I lost out on the minipet. And the second time I just missed beating another hunter there.

It took me a bit over 14 hours to see Jadefang again after a mage killed it before my eyes. A dk tried to harass me about killing it, but he apparently gave up, and I logged later to see him alive. Keep at it! I'm sure you'll get your wee friend soon!

logged in this morning to find him up again and now my new pet has his very own pet!

congrats! I think I'll need to do that too. Jadefang is neat if you just logoff there to camp because he's not a normal kill for someone who's just "passing by".

I think only hunters are even able to "track beasts" to see if he's up right?


I logged off in his spot once my NitroBoosts +Goblin Rocket jump finally worked, and logged in a few hours later and he was standing there going SQUEEEEEEE!

Talk about frustrations! I camp Jadefang for about 6 hours, then a Horde shows up and 15 minutes later it spawns, and my stupid hotbar is on the wrong section so I start spamming '1' which is my tame macro, only to have the Horde kill it then *tickle* me after he gets his new pet. Grr. Then, a long camp later 10 hours or so still waiting, another Horde while I am afk (asleep) places bombs that blast me out of the tunnel and I get eaten by a worm outside. I awake to a corpse and cannot resurrect back in the tunnel.

No offense to my Horde hunter friends here, but on my server, Horde are the worst griefers around.

I really wish everyone would have the manners as the petopia users. If there's someone on a camp spot before me, I'll leave them to it. I'm even more happy to help them out with their tame if I get the chance. Karma will eat your face one way or another if you're greedy and impolite.

Keep at it Wolf, I'm sure you'll get your pet soon.

Sorry to hear that, recently coming from the Alliance side of Earthen Ring myself, and having raided and experienced Horde side on ER as well, I can tell you that there are a equal amount of meanies out there on both sides. Its unfortunate sometimes, but as a Alliance hunter on ER, I had a horde hunter friend (who i helped nab the Oil Wolf when the quest was thought to be needed) who then proceeded to alert me and help me tame a King Krush spawn, a Loque'nahak spawn, and a Gondria spawn over the course of the next month or so.


Friends can come in all places, you'll even get griefers on your own sides sometimes even.

jades not the most reliable spawn as far as I can tell I have camped for the mini pet for hours now no go and never seen a chest at all though I admit as a Nelf I have an easy way up die and ghost up with gear off and tend to camp further into the tunnel to advoid being blasted out of the tunnel. The werid thing is when I first went to tame her I had no trouble at all finding her but have not seen her since. I think mornings server time fairly early seem to be a good time to get rares of this sort it is a tactic thats normally worked for me in the past anyways.
