Thinking About Madexx (Questionare!)

This is more out of curiosity than anything else. Madexx is one of the most unique rare tames we have. Each time she spawns, she's one of five different colours, as you all rightly know. And I gotta say, I really like this idea and I hope we see a few more multi-colour unique pets in the future. It jsut adds a little excitement at the unknown for me.
But that's not the topic. I want to see how other people see this Madexx camp. So I'm staring up this little questionare to basically peek into people's heads, get people thinking about their awesome scorpid pet.

What colour Madex do you have, or are you still hunting it? Are you interested in it at all?

I personally love it, more options means that other Hunters won't have the same exact pet as you.

I would if I like it better than the colour I have and no other Hunters are in the zone.

Yes I would, makes the pet more unique IMO because not as many Hunters will be running around with the same exact one.

I have both a Black and a Red madexx tamed. If I saw a green I'd probably tame it if no one was around.

I really wanted the Red and got it on my second tame, I was hovering near a spawn point, not waiting for him, just taking a moment to chat with a mate, and he spawned in front of me.

Meh, I'll probably get rid of the Black skin if I need stable space but it was the first I saw alive.

I saw Black first alive, though the night before I'd seen a brown/gold one killed and would have been happy enough with that, and whilst not fussed by it I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to get him.

Possibly, I like being able to have a colour of your choice but I'd rather see several versions of a model in different places with maybe some rare versions, abit like king krush being the only green devilsaur.

Any other thoughts?

It would be nice to see higher quailty models more generally available with some rare versions I think, that way people can decide whether its the rare colour they like or if they just like the new model and aren;t fussed if its common or not. Like Shango being the only saber tiger, looks great but easy to get.

If you count occasionally checking every few days as still hunting, then yes. I did end up getting the bronze, but it's not really the one I wanted, even if it DOES match the mount!

I was after the black, but ended up finding and taming the bronze instead. I'll still take the black if it spawns in front of me or something.

The more, the merrier! If anyone owns all the colors, grats to them. Of course, I myself wouldn't- I've got mine, so I'm gonig to let another hunter who doesn't have him tame him. After all, it's only fair. Only if I find the black and no one else is around will I tame it. Of course, once I do, I might have trouble giving up my bronze... EDIT: I actually just found him again ( Or should I say her, looks like a she to me this time ) in blue, and no one else was around, so I tamed him. I feel a bit bad, because there were two hunters in the -zone-, jsut not in the wastes. I guess it was a good thing though, a mage flew over right as I tamed it, and I wonder if they woulda killed him. At least I was able to provide info to a lot of nice hunters. So yes, if he's there, tame him again. I consider him to be one of the more beautiful models in the game.

That's exactly what I did. After spending 40 some hours looking for him and finding him only once- dead, I might add- that a guildy decided to yell at me to just tame whatever version I saw and to heck with the color I wanted. Mostly because my guild wanted me to PvP with them and I was avoiding my levelling duties by sitting there at 84... So when the brown spawned beneath me, I took it.

Yes, yes, a million times yes! If Sambas had a black version, I'd go after him in a heartbeat. And I'd love to see others. Sure, if theres a particular version you want, it'll only be that much harder to get, but I love seeign all the different colors. Another horde hunter in TB also has Madexx, but in the red version. Seeing him and my brown one fighting side by side is beautiful, and I can quickly tell them apart. I feel that if both were brown, or red, it wouldn't be as amazing, and would cause confusion. " Is that my scorpid, or yours? "

While I lvoe the model, I'm not too fond of his size. Scorpids are among the small pets to begin with, and Madexx in particular is much smaller than the rest of the scorpids. I really feel Blizz needs to increase their size a bit. I dont see how my tiny pet can reach high enough to disarm anything taller than a dwarf- so it's funny and funky at the same time when he disarms a draenei.

I am the proud owner of the Blue colour, named Almagest, and couldn't be happier. ^^ I was thrilled to see the new Horde guild mount become a tameable mob as I loved the revamped scorpid model.

I was originally interested in Black, with a side choice of Red. The others were all nice looking of course, but I honestly thought Black was my first and only desire.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, but for myself I only need one.

For the first sighting, yes, I was excited to see him regardless of colour. I admit that even if he had appeared in my least favourite choice, I would have tamed him regardless so that I at least had one until my preferred colour appeared. He in fact spawned for me in Blue, which ended up being perfect. Though I hadn't thought I wanted Blue particularly, once I saw him in person I realized how stunning the colour was.

Definitely! When we first started to find out that he was a colour changer in the wild but retained only one colour, I was thrilled at the concept. I think it adds a fun mystery to the hunt, and gives a lot of nice variety. I was also very pleased at the notion that fate decided the colour I would own. What I originally wanted wasn't what I ended up with, nor do I even want the other colours anymore. I've realized how perfect Blue is for me, so it's a cool way of thinking that he spawns for you in the colour you're meant to have in a sense.

At first I wasn't too sure what colour I'd like, and then I settled on green as my favourite. As it was, I wasn't too fond of blue, however after a long boring hunt blue spawned right below me and I tamed him without a second thought. I was still a little iffy about his colour but by the time the bf and I named him, he had managed to worm his way into both our hearts. Now Ruchbah is my "little man", has helped save many a healer, and his little Mexican wave dance even amuses those scorpid-haters in the guild. He is without a doubt one of *the* pets I will keep forever (if Blizz told us we could onyl keep 5 pets he'd be one of those 5 lol). I can't imagine my hunter without him.

Pretty neutral to me. I can't say that I'd pass up a tame if I saw another colour while I was passing through Uldum, but I probably wouldn't keep it to be honest, as I'm loving my little man. My goblin will, however, hunt for my original love (the green) when she is able

I'd check for other hunters, friends, guildies or in the zone - if they didn't want it, I'd tame it to prevent a killing and decide later if I was going to keep it.

Yes, but only a few. I think it's a unique but very tiring way to go about hunting rares - camping them is bad enough, yet alone waiting for the correct colour to pop if you only like 1 or 2 colours. Nice idea, but wouldn't want it to be overdone.

How do you feel bout owning multiple Madexx colours? I love the idea! I can see how it can cause frustration with people who want only a specific color but with more colors to choose from it's less likely to see someone with the exact same pet as you.

Any other thoughts? Overall I am not a fan of scorpids. They look funny, imo, and I don't find them to be particularly useful. That being said, I would totally run around with Madexx in Org and have a dance party!

The blue was on my list of "colours I will tame Madexx in if I see it" so I'm quite happy I got it. (An alternative would've been black. Not fond of green or red, might've tolerated the brown.)

Tempted to try for the black, but I don't have enough stable space, I don't think, and I don't know what I'd do with two scorpids...

Moot point, but if it had happened - I think I would've tamed him anyway, because an adorable (in my opinion) scorpid of the wrong color is better than no adorable scorpid.

Yes and no. On the one hand, I was thinking how nice it would be if there were - for example - a white and a black version of the Sambas model, much like there are gold, black and white versions of the "old" lion model.

On the other hand... camping rares is driving me nuts enough already, so I'm not sure I'd enjoy it.

I am casually after green now. At first I was devastated when I missed green Madexx, but black has really grown on me a lot.

By the time I get green I'll be at 3/5, might as well go for the gold and get all of them! (That will be a while though, I'm SICK of that desert!) Personally, I think they're all lovely in their own way, though I'd prefer someone get red and blue before me if it's their favorite color. I'd only get them to get them.

Only if someone I know doesn't want it or isn't online. I admit I get too shaky when I see Madexx to sit there and /w every hunter in the zone. My hands shake, I forget where my buttons are. Heck, I tamed black without even realizing I had tamed it! I pressed tame and cancelled it once (looking for a friend to tame it), pressed tame again (to hopefully deter people from killing it), and ended up being so derrrrp that I actually tamed it.

Perhaps, but maybe with fewer possible colors. Trying to get one out of five is........eh. And I don't want to see something like that on every tamable rare there is, either. One a couple, sure, but on every single one? Never. I don't think any of us want to sift through 890 different colors to find the one we really like. Put it on a couple, but not all.

I like the idea of multiple colors for one rare, I just personally wish they had done something like make the bronze and black on standard non-rares, with the green/red/blue ("flashier" colors) on a rare. That way, people who like the model and don't care what color they get can go grab one of the non-rares, while the people who want a specific "popular" color could camp for it, without having to get lucky enough to get their 1 out of 5 (that's a 20% chance, people, how pooey!).

Fine with me - it's just the same as having multiple skins of any other pet - moods vary - especially when trying to decide what colour to settle on. Heck, settle on all of them; it's all good.

Probably not - I'd do the usual /who for Hunters and see if there's any interest; if not, I'd leave him be.

Sure - always open to new ideas, and different spawn-colours are interesting. Albeit frustrating to those who are dead-set on a single colour xD

I have the red, and he's my current go-to tanker for fast-respawn areas, group quest mobs, or emergencies.

Red was one of my top two choices. I don't think I'd pass up a blue, but I won't camp the mob anymore either.

If one has the stable room, go for it! Not much different than owning different skins in a pet family.

No. The first Madexx I saw was black, the one color I absolutely didn't believe I could click with. I gave it away, and would do the same for others.

Maybe. More choice is nice, but adding more RNG factor to the camp can be frustrating.

They are pretty much individual rares with individual ID No's I would definately not tame multiples of the same colour and have gone to pretty long lengths to find someone to tame when I have had second spawns of the same colour. Whispering people in SW and Logging to Horde....Keep in mind its a low population server. yesterday I saw the same Karoma stay up for 6 hours.

After my initial seven days of camping I did...I was sleep deprived and hadn't seen a Madexx in any colour.

I would prefer to see more unique skin rare spawns...it annoys me that they couldn't unique skin Grunter from the DFB in SMV, Mazz, Broodmother, Slaverjaw etc. But in many ways I would prefer to have different classes with a few uniques then we might see some more pet variation.

I don't think we're on the same Amun'thul server haha. Def not low pop. Unless you play very off-peak hours. I wish I had that luck in finding my Karoma and Madexx!

I was lucky--the first Madexx I found was a brown one, which was the only color I was interested in. If I had found it in a different color, I wouldn't have tamed it, as I already had an older scorpion model that I liked. I wouldn't keep two different colors of one skin--I only keep one animal of any family. I actually dislike the idea of rare spawns in multiple colors--it leads to people taming colors they don't really want, and I just think it's a big mess.

I want a Scorpid Spirit Beast.

Yes, makes it more interesting. I've always wanted a scorp, but never found one I really wanted until he popped up. I've had a Clawberry several times, both red and pink, and never clicked with him.

--Doesn't bother me one bit, Its like Spirit Beasts, theyre all basically the same (since the family is quite small) but all have unique skins, and myself like most of us; gotta catch 'em all! But truely if you have a Madexx and another Hunter is there camping with you and they are without one- let them tame, if it is your "omgmusthave" colour that spawned- always ask first, compromise, etc etc

--The first time- yes, the chances are small you'll see him again (my realm atleast) because it is a heavy skinning/archeology/questing/mining area, but after the first tame, if hes in a colour I dont like (green..) I would find a hunter asap and hope he doesnt get killed.

I have a Black Madexx and a Blue one. I we had more stable space I would hunter for all 5 colours, but my stable is now full

I really wanted the blue one, but tamed the black one first. Camped for the blue one, watched it die to Nelf hunter who wanted to skin it I guess, came back another day and tamed a blue one. Talk about lucky!

I think owning multi-colours is a great idea. I just don't have the stable space to do it.

At the moment, no because my stables is pretty full, but if I do see one I would let a guildie hunter know that it's up and hopefully he/she can get there in time to tame it.

Yes, having different coloured Spirit Beasts would really be interesting!

I think certain rares are easily attainable, there should be more spawn points for certain rares. i.e. Jadefang, Arcturis.

Any other thoughts? Yay Blizz for making THREE non exotic rares this time around already :D Please keep them coming! Don't get me wrong I love my spirit beasts and being beast mastery but SV/Marks are awesome too and I miss my rares when I play those specs.
