Nope, they don't often bring any of those skins back either.. Sad but true.. I wasn't able to get the Grimtotem wolf...Sniff.. But was able to get both the Hydra and slime I bring them out every now and then; and now I have 2 slots in my stable that I'll probibly never be able to use; again.. And I've seen a few totem wolves around.. Makes me sad that I can't tame them now that I'm the level to have been able to... And I'm cringing at what they will or will not nerf when Cata comes out... Seems like they are getting rid of all the cool skins and leaving the Milktoast ones behind.. Sadness.. Damn you Blizz and your bland pets

I Came...I Saw...I Tamed

As of right now, there are currently no oddball pets of the kind you're talking about -- and, in fact, they wouldn't be odd if it weren't for the fact that they were removed as tameable in the first place. However, it's probable that we'll see more accident pets like these in the future, so the best thing you can really do is try to keep your hunters at level cap, to assure that you'll be in the proper position to tame it, whatever its level.

Though, if you're simply looking for a pet that's rarely seen, that's another story.

There is actually one at the moment, its a Birds of Prey that is currently classified as a Carrion Birds.

Name is Akkarai Hatchling.

Its nothing special but its still there.

There are a few other weird pets that Blizzard hasn't done anything about.

For example this wasp doesn't shrink when you tame it. They DID ban/remove this one for the exact same reason, that it doesn't shrink. I don't know if Blizz plans to fix this or not, but it is special!

There are other color changing pets too that haven't been removed, but are sorta quirky.

Another reason they banned the Hive Queen is something with the quest... Either being able to kill it for a quest, or something along those lines.

That doesn't make since to me unless i understand you wrong. I just Tamed King Bangalash the white tiger (pew pew pew) and he is killable for a quest. so why would other quest mobs of this sort be untameable?

Something with her in the coding made her not change and act like EVERY other wasp. That's exactly why she was and is so huge, because she's not taking to the new code given for wasp PETS... Using this form of pet 'standard' thing is what makes it possible for all wolves to do the same damage. (Same spec and level of course) and is also the reason some pets that were faulty or had certain animations, no longer have these problems or nice little perks

I'm sorry but if this was true the black and blue wasps would ALSO be made untameable OR they would have had their models changed. Niether happened so this is NOT the case. Blizzard afaik never did come out and say why the queen was being made untameable. All we can do is speculate, but as far as I figure it's because her skin is the exact same skin as an AQ boss.

So that's why I figured such a beautiful skin was denied. I'd really love the ability to tame a Hydra and another Queen on an alt :|

This is a bit off the subject but when I started my new hunter and was hoping to get Arikara for her poofing effects, and then when I found that they took out that effect for that wind serpent, that really brought me down in the dumps. After I found out, I dropped my idea for that pet and went for another one: the blue wind serpent in Wailing Caverns. I was almost tempted to get Azzere the Skyblade but ended up not getting it since I am not a big fan of red anyway.
