Madexx 2.0

So after I heard that blue Madexx aka the only color I had, was going to be common next patch, I set out to tame another still-rare color. Decided to do a flyover just now, and what did I see but a paladin beating on the black/red aka the color I wanted Madexx.

Asked him if I could tame it for 1k, he let me, only just managed to make the tame since he was only on around 30% HP when I got there, and by the time my tame completed successfully he had around 5% HP left (I think the guy had DOTed it beforehand and the DOT was breaking the tame, not too sure).

So, recompleted my all-rare and unique stables (plus Chromaggus) once again, though I had to set Shadowclaw free (as the blue has grown on me he's going to stay) However, I have him retamed on my Hunter twink so it's all good

Madexx does not change colors.

So you basically abandoned a unique skin for another unique skin and just aurg do you know how much I would have paid to have the blue?

No, I am still keeping blue, like him quite a lot Didn't at first but the skin has grown on me. I do know they are color-changers, still wanted to have a unique color as well though. Hence why Shadowclaw went to open the slot rather than blue Madexx (I operate on a full stable at all times )

As much as you wish it I doubt it's going to happen- the 60 people that Uldum averages even during the middle of the week sometimes, kinda negates that.

That's what annoyed me, you already had something rare and unique and you think that a color changer degrades it.

I'm keeping my blue madexx for sure. I hope those after him get their scorpids. My madexx is special to me no matter what - I'll never forget people whispering me and cheering in General chat when I finally got him.

Well now I have two rare and unique Madexxes so that's even better I do like to have tames where that skin can only be obtained on a rare spawn though, so I couldn't help but want to have a representative of a color of Madexx still only obtainable on a rare, especially if that color is my personal favourite.

He's still a rare spawn in a high traffic zone... All the colors are hard to get... and Blue being one of the rarest... I'm confused at where the thought of it being common came from. Please elaborate? (very confused) :/

Basically, a tamable NPC has been found on the PTR, and it is a color-changing scorpid that uses either the blue Madexx or brown Madexx skin upon spawning.

I think anyone that has been lucky enough to tame Madexx should be grateful they have him/her. Ive been camping the sand pit from hell for 3/4 weeks now, some days/nights up to 17hrs and have only seen him once....dead of course(I'm not that lucky). So please guys count yourself lucky you have one while some of us are still waiting for that special tame

Why do people keep picking on the people who like a unique skin? To some people, having a truly unique skin is very important. They are lucky when they do finally find their special pet. They're allowed to be annoyed when it's later stuck on 909340234 other mobs. They're told, "There's nothing you can do about it, just be happy other people get that color easier." Well, the OP did do something about it, he got another unique one. Good for him! I'm happy he found what he wanted.

I feel like I keep repeating myself. Different people place value on different things. So while one person may say that a blue Madexx is entirely different than a common spawn blue scorpid, another person might feel that all the work they put into getting a one-of-a-kind blue scorpid was..well not necessarily "for nothing", but it takes some of that away. I can understand that.

I understand both sides. But people are trying to tell these people that they just shouldn't care. Who has the right to tell them what they should and should not care about? Who is anyone to say, "Well, YOU know that you tamed the 'real' one, so that should be good enough," because maybe they like other people to know that their pet is unique and rare, too! So what if some pets are a little bit of a trophy to some people, if that's what they like? If that's how they want to spend their $15 a month, the same money you and I pay, then let them! Be happy they got the color they wanted!

I know about the colour changers and while i'm not too keen on spending continued hours on camping a pet i'm wondering if it's worth that i stay near Maddex's spawn see if i can get a lucky green maddex spawn.I caught one that's yellow/brown but i'd shatter azeroth in half for a green one.Do you guys think it is worth the trouble?I'm contemplating taming one of the colour changers.Also congrats on getting the skin you wanted.

This is your pet we're talking about, you have every right to want a color you're going to like. So if green is really that awesome to you, then I think you should go for it. I mean, most people don't really want to just settle with something. It all depends on whether or not you can be happy with a non-green scorpid.

I didn't think I could be, but when I spent more time with my black one, I fell in love with him and now I don't want the green one. So maybe some quality time with your bronze will do the same for you?

I'll give patch (Maddex) a try maybe i'll like him just as much it's just green is my favorite colour.I don't plan on camping Maddex's spawn but i'll definitely keep an eye out while i'm doing my quests in Uldum.Personally if it were up to me i'd drop a bucket of green paint onto patch when the people at blizzard aren't looking.

To be honest I don't think anyone is 'picking on' anyone, some of us are just happy to get anyone of his colours. Grats on your guys that have had the good fortune to get more than one and in the colours you want...send some luck my way.
Had the misfortune of logging in and finding a nelf hunter killing Madexx....the green one, all because he had it and it was a rare. Had a nice chat with him and he told me the respawn times and appologised for killing him so hopefully if he sees me he wont kill him again...fingers crossed.
