I need serious help.

Ok so my hunter, Han, has always had people complaining about how low her DPS is but i don't know how to increase it.

So far I have
*Tamed a Devilsaur to try and increase he BM dps (didn't work)
*Dual speced her to be SV (which i though had worked until today when a DK commented on my rubbish DPS)

Her rotation is: Kill Shot (when available) Black Arrow, Explosive Shot, Aimed/Multi Shot, Steady Shot and Steady Shot and I have never been able to get her past 2.1K dps

Here is her Armory so you can see her Armour and Glyphs.

Her pets consist of a ravager, a hyena, a crab, a silithid and a devilsaur.

I hope this is enough info for you.
Please help.

Well if you plan to run as BM, I would start by changing some of your glyphs. Glyph of Kill Shot or Steady Shot would probably help, as Giggle suggested in this thread (which I also recommend reading).

All I can really do is suggest that you read that thread, Giggle's got some great suggestions for BM running. :O

I know this will sound like a stupid question, but have you checked that all of your spells and shots are at their highest ranks?

A while back I discovered that for a long time I had been using Rank 1 of Steady Shot, and was only informed after someone had the addon RankWatch in a run. It was terribly embarrassing, and I don't even know how it happened, but there is that possibility. Always safe to double check.

Usually the game updates your action bars with the latest Ranks that you learn, but it seems sometimes that doesn't happen, so if you never check it can be easy to overlook. Same with ensuring that you've trained all of the ranks at a trainer.

They should all be up to date because I didn't dual spec until she was 80th and I planned on doing dungeon and raids as SV but i'll still check out the tread on BM .

Your spec for survival looks ok, but I would ALWAYS get Careful Aim 3/3 no matter what spec you go. If you want a good idea of a survival spec, you can check out my armory. Overall dps I average about 4200+, usually, but I can get a lot higher for one on one bosses.

As for glyphs, go with explosive shot, kill shot, and I personally like to have the aspect of the viper one, to reduce the dps loss when I NEED it up

My shot priority for survival is:

Kill shot - explosive shot (use it 3 times spaced out if you get a lock and load proc) - black arrow - aimed shot - serpent sting - steady shot to fill in the gaps.

Survival is a lot of about keeping your dots up and really focusing on your priority/rotation. You will always be doing something, never letting yourself just auto shoot, unless you need to lessen your aggro and feign death is on CD.

I use volley for any pull that has 3+ mobs.

Hope this helps I don't use BM too much for PvE, but I know there are lots of great BM hunters around here who can help.

EDIT: Pet wise, wolves are the premiere choice for surv dps, but raptors and cats are close behind. ^_^

As much as I hate myself for saying this, download gearscore. Check what your gearscore is, and upload it here. It can't measure skill, but it's a hella' good tool for measuring gear.

I just want to add to this: Explosive shot should be used every time it's off cooldown, but if you proc LnL you'll want to use ES - filler (aimed/multi/steady) - ES - filler - ES. That's to ensure you don't clip the dot part of the shot.

Also, if you have the tier 9 two-piece bonus, serpent sting should have higher priority than black arrow and aimed.

I don't understand what gearscore is going to help here. All it'll say is what the average ilevel of her gear is, in some formula with gems and enchants. Not helpful in the least.

Ayup, but I also happen to know what you can expect from people with various gearscores. I don't support the whole "5900gs" shit, but you can actually use it to predict what a plays will be outputting.

As long as you're haste capped Steady will cast at the sane speed of a GCD, so don't worry about that. You won't be losing DPS from Steady instead of something else, because of the cast. You'll lose out on some mobility tough.

From what I can see from the Armory, I gather two things. You aren't hit capped yet (need to be 8% at least, a little more to cover your pet too), and you should at least get a glyph of Explosive Shot (VERY good surv glyph!).
I don't think your gear is the issue. Frankly, you have better gear then my Hunter does, and I currently manage around 2k, though it can go higher when my Coaster procs. You use the same 'rotation' I do to. Are you managing your Dots well? That is one of the reasons I've come to like survival so much, is because you always have something to do. If that's the issue, take to a target dummy with some cheap ammo and work on your timing. Just try to get into the feel of every shot, and watch those ticks.

And about the LnL procs. Using a filler inbetween each shot is alright, but it does have a small margin of DPS loss. If you are still new to watching the ticks, go with an instant cast filler between to make sure you don't clip off the last tick. Once you get the hang of it, you can tell when you need to fire the next shot, and you can drop out the filler.

Didn't read the full comments just yet but the first thing I noticed is the lack of serpent sting in the rotation you mentioned. That would help alot, particularly in SV spec. Looking at your armory as it is now...

As survival you should definatly gem full agi with one slot having a Nightmare tear (or lower lvl ones) to help with the meta. Speaking of meta you should consider changing yours to [Chaotic Skyflare Diamond] that can help as well.

Talents - Careful aim would be a great addition to your Survival spec. To get to it I would consider droping the 1 point in imp. aspect of the hawk and some points in Hunting party.

OH... just noticed what your main issue could be, your hit rating is under capped. You should try to have it at 8%. Your lack of Dps might just be from missing your targets.

Cookieman, I don't think those macros will help. The days of macroing all your shots into one or two macros as BM are long gone, Blizz wants it that way. And really, it's not hard to keep track of shot cooldowns in BM. Keep serpent up, steady when your arcane and multi are on cooldown, and BW+KC when they're not on cooldown...

Personally, I'm very thankful that Blizz won't let us easymode it anymore. I'll admit that there's more dot/cooldown monitoring as SV, but hey, that's what makes it fun.

Keep serpent sting up at all times in any spec.

You're missing a few gems/enchants, which is going to hurt you as well. Your bow has no scope.

If you're staying BM, gem everything for ap. If you're going surv, gem everything for agility. I wouldn't really split on that.

Also, if you're staying surv, get a wolf. A devilsaur should still be okay for BM.
