Having trouble logging in? Try clearing browser cookies.

Unread post by Mania »

Earlier today I changed a setting that affects the cookie domain for the site. (Then I spent a few hours trying to figure out what I had done and undo it, all while being unable to log in. *cough*)

If you are still having trouble logging in, try clearing your browser cookies. You probably only need to clear the cookies you've gotten for the past few hours.

This is a random site I grabbed with info on how to clear cookies: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cookies

I was so worried that I was banned for some reason or another when I stumbled upon this post. xD
What a relief!

Tossing out the forums.wow-petopia.com cookie did the trick for me; for that matter. It's worth noting that deleting the wow-petopia.com cookie alone will not do anything, because that's not for the Petopia forums.

Thanks for the heads-up! Oddly enough, I viewed this yesterday, but it wasn't until this morning that I had issues :?

EDIT: Come to think of it, I tossed out any and all cookie that made reference to forums.wow-petopia, which may or may not have been necessary.

Finally I got in!! Had to, on Internet explorer, uncheck the "Preseve favourite website box" after deleting cookies before I could sign in. Sever withdraw being without Petopia since lastnight :(

Egads. Waking up to find you can't log in is a scary thing. I thought I did something wrong, or was banned, or someone was just being evil to me. :p

I was about ready to make a new name and go, "Oi. The thingy is broken. Help!" when I saw this. xD

Also, Mychelle, fancy seeing you here haha. I JUST tamed Olm. Don't know if you got him yesterday or not, but if you know his spawn timer (i don't), you now have a time to work off of, 3pm server time. :D

Best of luck.
Small world!!! Thanks to you two posting here, I recognized Mychelle (and Olm!) immediately upon queuing into a group for the V-Day boss with them! xD

Wow, glad I wasn't the only one having that problem. And I accidentally figured it out while trying to fix a different issue I was having.

I can finally log in at home but still can't on my piece of shit iPhone even though I've deleted the internet cache, cookies etc etc etc. So my next 'try' is to delete the favorite bookmark on the blasted phone to see if that works.
