Pets that want you to take them home!

Unread post by Jonmcslain »

I was lookin for Olm half heartedly since I've got Aotona and a Brilliant Macaw anyway. I decided to start flying south for somthing to do and off went my npc scan.. It Mongress!! I had given my old bear Grizzelgut away awhile back when I started hunting new pets. I flew down to look at it,, Poor Mongress gave me that puppy bear eye look and I just had to take it home. Anyone know what the spawn timer is on Mongress?

There is some old information for the old spawn timer on wowhead, here, but I am unsure of a new spawn timer. Good luck! :D

Zaricotl! After losing my precious raven carrion bird, I didn't want to go tame another becasue I wasn't fond of any of the others. When I was doing my first round to check for the new rares, I stumbled across this one and couldn't resist taming it, and isntantly fell in love. Until they change ravens back into carrion birds, this is my new one <3 And if they don't, I kinda think I don't mind. I might have trouble letting this one go if they do.

Silithid Harvester also wants me to take it home ( And possibly to some extent The Razza ), because almost every time I have checked for them they've been up. At one point I broke and tamed the beetle, but I wasn't very fond of it, and just decided to abandon it :/

As for Mongress, I haven't got a clue :< I wasn't even aware she existed, but she's a really pretty bear now that I see her.

I had a tarantula give me puppy spider eyes, and having four pair of them, it was quite irresistible! :)

Teremus and Torrogar. The former was my old gray owl. Ditched it and never looked back...except that I did look back, constantly, always lamenting his absence. I missed my old great grey. Anyways, he died in the Cataclysm, spent some time up in Northrend and became a ghost, and apparently moved to Felwood. The latter...just wanted to come home with me. Seriously...I love Torro :3

Uh .. is it bad that I tamed the entire troll trio twice on my new hunter ? I went and looked, being in the area, and all three were up again, but I couldn't kill them or leave them, so I nabbed the set for the second time and specced them the opposite of how I specced the first set, so now I have all three as both DPS and tanks.

*sighs quietly* Oh pets. -_- They tamed me, honestly.

Kalliope never intended to tame green Madexx (Perseus), the large loch croc -> Gosh-Haldir (Pygmalion), the Evalcharr (Bellerophon), or a green Azerothian worm (Scylla), but they insisted.

Kallimon has it even worse. Terrorpene (Chili), Shango (Jalapeno), the white devilsaur (Beignet), Aotona (Papillote), Spiteflayer (Pompano), an orange shale spider (Doberge), and Dishu (Saffron) weren't supposed to get tamed. But noooo, they had other ideas. -_- Don't get me wrong, I love 'em. It's just....they were not planned.

Kura never intended to tame Sambas, but after he appeared for me twice and I gave him away both times, and couldn't find someone to give him the third time... well, I couldn't just leave him there to be killed, could I? Funny thing: since that day, I haven't seen him in the wild again. I guess once I got the message, he didn't need to keep coming. :D

Kura's original taming of Kuroshi, his black raptor first-raid-pet, was like that too. I was running around doing some old quests for reputation, and came across that one. Went to check out this 'Goreclaw' on Wowhead to locate him for the quest, and fell totally, instantly, madly in love with him. Tamed him on the spot... and then had to kill him again for the quest.
Come see Kurasu's stables!

Not a rare, but I just finished explaining the origins of my red worg, Umbergore not too long ago. If I remember right there was a quest in Blade's Edge that had you vaccinate the Horde-neutral worgs in the area against the Alliance-neutral faerie dragons. This understandably made them upset, but seeing as I was in the newly-budding stage of almost-Horde-patriotism, I didn't want to kill any of the worgs.

I discovered that trapping and tranqshotting them(or something similar, it's been a long time) got rid of the buff and allowed you to vaccinate them again. I picked the worg closest to the main gate and chaintrapped him back into the village, forming this awkward rhythm of trap, tranq, vaccinate, repeat on this poor, poor critter. All of the required vaccinations later, I trapped him a final time, feigned, and let him hobble back to his post covered in bandaids.

Maybe it was the way he waddled aimlessly in circles or maybe I just felt bad, but he seemed completely out of it - understandably - and I wound up taming that specific worg not long after I turned in the quest. He remained by my side all the way to 80. I stabled him at the beginning of Cata, saying he had died of old age, but all this talk about him has reminded me that he's got quite a bit of fight in him still - he'll be 85 as soon as I can manage. :)

Most of the rares in Kalimdor were there as soon as I showed up. The Razza, Oozeworm, The Silithid Havester and Olm, TWICE.
