"No no, it's true it's true! That'sh how it happened! Really! ...hic!" The drunken gnome put her hands on her hips as she stood on her stool and pouted at the worgen next to her at the bar. Her cheeks were rosy from drinking. "Mhmm, yes. I believe you. Have I ever said I didn't?" The worgen let loose a quick smirk. His clawed hand grabbed his mug and he took another swig. The gnome hopped up and down rapidly "No no no! You jusht think I'm being cute! And while I can't deny that, you're not believing my shtory!"
As she finished her rant, she lost balance and landed on the bar, staring at the ceiling. A few tears welled up in her eyes from the bonk her head had made. A few tears also welled up in the worgen's eyes, as he was laughing hard enough to cry. The worgen wiped away a tear with a hairy finger, "I take you completely seriously, heh. The whole story, Pew." Pew sat up and began sobbing lightly, putting her head between her knees. The worgen sighed. Meanwhile the bartender saw something was going amiss at his bar and decided to intervene. "Everything alright here?" The worgen waved his hand dismissively. "She's fine, just wants sympathy. Making a scene. Can't hold her liquor either." The bartender eyed Pew uneasily. "...if you say so..." The bartender left and went back to serving his other patrons.
The worgen glanced at Pew. Sure enough she had fallen asleep already. In the middle of her acting too. That wasn't like her. Normally she didn't stop until she convinced the entire bar he was a horrible menace and got him kicked out. Normally he didn't mind sleeping outside, but it seemed tonight he'd have no excuse. The worgen sighed. He payed for the drinks and picked up Pew, walking up the stairs to the bedrooms. "Tharias... where..." Pew mumbled. "To bed, where you belong." Tharias was still baffled at why she simply had fallen asleep. They hadn't done anything unusally draining that day, and normally were up for a few more hours. At least from what he could remember.
It couldn't be possible that she was telling the truth... could it? She always recounted the story when they had a chance to indulge with alcohol at a tavern. She'd go on about how she was married spiritually to a fire elemental of great power, and that's how she was so talented with fire magic, blah, blah blah. He couldn't remember anymore details than that. Usually he's just think about something worthwhile, like eating a nice steak, while she jabbered on.
He reached their room, and layed her gently on the bed. There had been a nice cave he spotted on the way down the road earlier that day, but Tharias decided sleeping in a room would be a good change of pace.

Tharias awoke from the smell. Smoke was suffocating him. He immediately sprang up and looked for Pew. She wasn't in the bed, or on the floor on either side. Bursting out from the room, he found the smoke even thicker. She must've gotton out already, but without waking me? Tharias thought. He bolted for a nearby window, landing in a bush outside. Circling the building, he found the crowd of spectators he was looking for. He couldn't smell her or see her. Pew wasn't there.
He looked back at the tavern. The bottom floor was engulfed with flames, licking out the windows and threatening to spread to the second floor soon. Tharias rushed back around to the rear of the building, heading into the back exit.
Inside was an inferno. He could barely stand the heat singeing his fur, the smoke blocking out any scent. His eyes watered as he searched the kitchen, and made his way into the main room. When Tharias laid his eyes on the figure in the center of the room, he froze with shock. It was Pew, engulfed in her own flames, burning everything in sight. Pew turned to him, and as Tharias looked into her eyes, he saw it wasn't really Pew.
