RP help? :O

Unread post by Miraga »

So I was thinking about maybe rolling an RP character but I have no idea where to start. The first issue is the character itself. I don't want the character to be too different from my own personality, which I assume would make being in-character easier. Here are some characteristics I would use to define myself: quirky, silly, has a difficult time being serious, can be inappropriate, helpful and a bit ditsy at times. What race do you think would be appropriate for a hunter RP character? Faction doesn't matter to me. I was thinking human but I am totally lost when it comes to lore. I know there was a big war in there somewhere and Arthas is a meanie but that's bout it when it comes to humans. I have been looking at the RP addons and contemplating which to get. I do know I want to be a hunter so I have the petemote addon (it's so cute! makes me love my silithid a lot more, lol). Thanks for any advice guys :) I really want to find a way to have fun in-game, as doing dailies has gotten to the "OH GOD WHY?" point on Miraga. The only thing that bugs me is that "WTF you're a nerd if you RP!" stigma, though at this point if I have to pay to play I'm sure I can find some other "nerds" to RP with. :D

If you want to develop your character, I also recommend you join one of the RP threads here. It gives a lot of practice, and while it's a bit different than in-game stuff, you do get to work with personality quite a bit.

Humans would work, I think an undead would be awesome, just because when you think undead, you think the total opposite, and it'll make you stand out a bit. (In a good way, not Mary Sue way. :D)

Add-ons...Uhm, check the "So you Want to Roleplay?" thread. There's a list of add-ons compiled by...Wassa, I believe. Also a good idea to read those guides in general for good tips and pointers.
