This also occurs with the oily wolf when you use camo. All you can see is the oily mist around it. Quite entertaining to watch while running, as all you can see is the outline of an invisible pet in the oil.

I helped a friend tame him the old way before we knew about the new way. It took him 2 hours of attempts to get it right. I did it in about 15 minutes. Another hunter took about half an hour. I've heard that it's still possible, just a lot more difficult.

How ungrateful that other hunter was! I camped 26 hours for him and I know other hunters that have done 10+ in a single sitting. When I tamed Terrorpene some time ago, I realized that Murphy seems to have a sense of humor. The first time he spawned, I was walking off from the computer, but had unplugged my headphones just in case. I got 2 steps away, and npcscan went nuts!
