If you want to tame a serpent with the exact same look as Dambala, tame Vathikur. It is in Vol'dun. It spawns after you kill all the pit snakes in the area. There is no quest needed to get it to spawn.

Next, there will be a pet shop where you can acquire rare pets for mega gold. I would rather have seen this be a challenge tame instead of being locked behind a bunch of gold.

As of yesterday, March 6th, it is still flagged as tamable. So many folks working to make it spawn = low chance for taming now. :p

They had this several years ago. I never understood why they took it away from us. Good to get it back!

The WQ needs to be up. Sometimes there is a long wait for it to rotate through. As far as the bee/honey quests needing to be completed, I don't think so, but I could be wrong. Good luck with your hunt!

You are probably better off waiting until you get that particular daily. The NPC (Osthilde) has to be killed slowly to get the spiders to spawn as they do not come out until she has been damaged down to about 1/4 health. She is easily killed before she will spawn the spiders if you are not careful. ...

That is the look. But the one I tamed was labeled as a proto dragonfly. Currently, there are only grimy skimmers, thirsty darners, and wisp skimmers listed under the black skitter fly section.

I just thought I would state that I found some black proto dragonflies in the Cascades section of Thaldrazus. Currently, black is not listed as a color varient for proto dragonflies on this site.

I killed dark (black) Beakers today. So it does not only appear as white.

I have found those dark spiders mixed in with the normal fire-colored ones in multiple places in Waking areas. I suspect that the dark color may not be accidental and will not be fixed.

I think all the suggestions so far are good. I would add something about the rares. I would like the unique look of a rare to remain unique. Are you sure you did not see Aqir Fliers. They look similar to, but not exactly like, a corpsefly. Can be seen under wasps in Petopia.

Follow up: I logged back on after the server reset to again not find a single rare up. Again I stayed online in that zone for 3+ hours. The rares began to spawn after waiting that amount of time. After sitting in Burning Steppes for 3+ hours some rares started to spawn just prior to Tuesday's server shutdown. Hopefully when the server comes back up Sunwing will be up as it did not spawn prior to my character being kicked off.
