Sorry to hear about the arthritis, I hope it doesn't bother you too much when writing or - more importantly!! - playing WoW. ... And I'd totally read your stuff.

Much gratitude to Spiritbinder for the signature and Vephriel for the avatar! <3

Re: Huzzah for NaNoWriMo!
This year though, I just got a hold of a job after several months of unemployment, which means I'm taking all the hours I can, which means I have no time for a 50K novel. And I didn't have time to prepare an idea anyway
BUT I can console myself with the fact that I wrote two fanfics of required length or more this year, so at least I've been writing ^^
G'luck with NaNoWiMo Mel! You can win, you can win!

I'm still working on mine! Slow, but working! I need to be a little more focused and determined, but I'll make it. I'm still in the "introduction" part of my plot line. Fudgggeee. Either way, huzzah for doing the Young Writer's Program and setting my own word count goal.

Re: Huzzah for NaNoWriMo!
I'm currently stuck on one bit so I'm probably going to do the Approved NaNoWriMo Trick of sticking in "she needs to go here and do this, write it later" and skipping to the next part, which is not stuck and is bouncing up and down in the back of my head going "Write me! Write meeeee! I know where I'm going! Look, I have details, with the knife throwing and hiding in the bath and narrow escapes and all that fun stuff! Write meeeeee~!" Damn section is doing the inspirational equivalent of bouncing up and down in its seat with its hand up as far as it can stretch, going "Ooo! Ooo! Miss! Ooo! Miss! I know!"
Good grief. The next section of my story is the class swot.

Re: Huzzah for NaNoWriMo!
The weirdest part for me is, I frequently think ahead to later scenes and don't focus on the current one. I get all excited about getting to those later scenes. But I manage to push through the current one and get to that later scene that I wanted to write so bad and...I can't focus on it anymore! Now the one past THAT is more interesting! XP

Unfortunately, a book cannot consist of disjointed scenes.
Good luck filling your gaps!

So it isn't weird to have those disjointed scenes. I have nothing but them when I'm feeling inspired, it's like tasty flashes of nummy plot twists and romantic rendezvous in my head. I thought I was the only one!Loethlin wrote:When I write, I usually have disjointed scenes in my head, and most of them are really good, but then I have a problem with what happens inbetween. I can never really fill the gaps, it's very frustrating.

Me: /2 WTB [Focus] PST w/ price
Troll: /2 Haha, your mom was able to focus last night!
Cue myself going, "Noooooo! D:" Yeah. I've hit a focus-block. Which is much more fascinating to explore on why it occurred. Usually due to WoW and TV... >______>;; I have found writing it all out in a normal notebook to help a bit more. I could sit somewhere (like outside or just on the couch) and write with fewer distractions due to internet. Even my Loque farming is highly distracting. o_O So...
/2 WTB [Focus] in large amounts! PST with price!

I'm coping by just writing scenes down and not doing much else, letting everyone else fill the gaps with whatever they want. Hell, an ongoing fanfic (Star Trek, of course) I write is based on this very premise.
People seem to enjoy it enough for me to be in denial about the issue.

Re: Huzzah for NaNoWriMo!
There's a fanfiction author I watch who has a few stories that are built like that, and it works out great! Each 'chapter' is just a short little scene, a blurb of whatever came to her head I'm sure, but even without the filler parts a definite story evolves. It's a really refreshing way to read a story. ^^Loethlin wrote:Not the only one at all!Bellatryx wrote:So it isn't weird to have those disjointed scenes.
