Bad idea to give /use first names????

I'm not sure if I should post here first or at the newbie topic first..
But I've been lurking Petopia for 3-4 years now, and never really posted.

But yeah, I don't have a real name, since I moved to Canada from Hong Kong when I was 9.
And my parents didn't register me under an english name. So my ID card and paycheques says my chinese name.
But in RL, I've went by various names throughout the years, I change my callname usually when I move, or get a new job.
Now I just change it depending on what I feel like being called.
I'll answer to Ketchup, Misque(rhymes with whisk), Nine, or any toon I'm on at the time.

My Real name is David, but as I'm David the 3rd, my mom mixed letters from my middle name and David to get Devan, which is what everyone i know IRL calls me. Few people reserve the right to call me Dev, and even then I debate allowing them to, so if you prefer to call me by my RL name, dev is not allowed ...

In game I go by Gimlion. On everyone of my characters, everyone i know calls me Gimlion(often mispelled) or Gim... I do not appreciate being called Grim or Grimlion, and will kindly note that it is infact Gim, not grim, when this happens.

So basically, Hello, my name is Gimlion. Nice to meet you.

I'm more than happy to be known by my first name. Although the name Moonlost has certianly grown on me as of late.
I'm Kirilee, but most people I know call me Kiri. *waves*

Irl I'm Becky, but I'm so used to going by Ray on the internet that my internet-name is Ray. Hell, I've gotten in trouble before for signing papers that...

Hi, I'm Laura. XD My real name is fairly common so I usually don't mind sharing it.

Although I tend to either go by Aleu, a nickname I've adapted to using since one of my first ever original characters was named Aleu or by my main toons name Lunania... Or one of the other nicknames I've gotten off that. >> << Luna, Loons, Loony or Runa... Don't ask.

I mostly prefer to be called Aleu outside the game. =D

Not at all! :3 Almost everyone in my guild knows who I am by first name, though I'm still called Jet half the time.

Hi, I'm Rob. Most everybody calls me...Rob. A few call me Robert; one or two call me Robby, and I used to answer to "Rev" back in college. But stick with Rob.

I guess I'll go next. Hi I'm Sara. *wave* I go by that or Rarako depending on who is in the room. I used to go by Cartamanda but haven't used that handle in years. I'm also respond to almost any of my character names or variations of them; Sersallia, Sers, Lia (I have one or two folks that won't call me Sers do to my gender), Hertje, Entara, Igorot (Ig), pretty much whatever toon they met me on. Not to picky about what folks feel like calling me as long as you don't put an "h" at the end of Sara we're all good.

While I don't have any problems with sharing my first name, I prefer to be called Saf, Golden, or any toon I might be on at the time.. Mainly because I hate my name. :P
