Rare pet give-away!

The whole "Kill a rare from under a tame, if stolen from you" Is a weird conflict in my mind. It seems only fair that the pet that was rightfully claimed by you, thus being tamed, getting stolen from you should resort in the other hunter getting theirs stolen/taken as well, an eye for an eye.

However, thinking about it more closely, I'd rather just let them get the tame. It overall means one less hunter looking for the same rare you are, and eases competition slightly.

I have had one encounter where I found skoll and had another hunter coming over to tame when an alli hunter came and started to tame. I did not attempt to kill the beast, but the alli hunter on the other hand. I tried to delay the alli so the hunter I had whispered could come and tame, but the graveyard was right by so no luck. The alli hunter got skoll, and I logged and made a lvl1alli-something to tell her I had someone coming over to tame, and then congratulates her. I also said I was happy skoll did not get killed.

Had the beast been for myself and I was midtame, I honestly don't know what I would have done. Either tried to pull the beast back to me, killed it, or let the other hunter have it.

I think for me it depends whether the player stealing the tame is of the same faction and if it's another hunter or some other class. That said, if it's a different class, there is no help. The beast would most likely end up dead anyway.

And to your point: 1) It would be nice with one less to compete with. On the other hand, new players will probably level up to the required level for this and that pet everyday, so it's not in our favour if you catch my drift. Some of them will be helpful and give a /w if they see a rare, and the other ones will be the griefers.

2) Why should we eventually let the other hunter keep taming the beast, when we both tagged and started the tame first? Of course, we can report, and put them out on websides. I know there is one mentioned in some other thread.

Found another Gondria. I actually forgot to do a /who and looked in my friends list, and none of them needed her. Did a who in the end and found a lvl77 hunter ^^

See, had it been possible to make a duplicate of your character and then transfer, it would have been awesome.
Also, free character transfers, if those two options had been available I would easily come over and help those who needs help

I just found an Arcturis.
I did my daily fly-by in northrend and hovered over his spawn point a few seconds while mousing over my minimap.
I didn't notice there was an extra yellow dot before i double checked, and looked down xD

Anyway, I did a /who since none of my hunter friends was on at the time, but there was none other than me and a priest in the area. I tried to find other hunters while having him tagged and trapped.

And then, out of nowhere popped a troll hunter and started taming. I already had aggro so the tame interrupted.
I figured since I hadn't been able to find someone else, I'd just dismiss pet and FD to let him have the tame.

But, point is.. He did steal it, didn't he? What if I had someone coming over?
Not quite sure what to feel about it, but I congratulated him anyway. Needless to say, he logged off right after.

Heh, thanks Loque is the one I have found the most, so for me he would be the safest to let go if I ever had to, I think. Although I would never let go of my dear Loque ^^

You know what, I have earlier looked in the list of realms to choose from, and couldn't find Nesingwary anywhere. That's when my boyfriend pointed out that it might be an US realm and not EU. Go figure.

I wanted to change realms to Nesingwary, but that doesn't seem quite possible :p But I would really like to come over and help ^^

I've been hunting both Arcticus and Loque for a bit now-not for myself but for my friend who just hit 76. While she quests and I do my argent rounds, I go and check for them to spawn. Made some freinds with hunters who are camping Articus. When I see someone else there I'll wish them luck and move on, just ask them to let me know when they get him, if they do.

I'd be ticked if someone stole a tame from me-but I don't think I would kill the spawn.

Blister the person's ear off screaming at them exactly how rude and childish I think they were stealing my tame (if I was indeed taming when they interrupted)-yes, but I wouldn't kill the tame itself-because then I have to deal with them wanting revenge and still hunting what I am after.

Though if I saw them again taming a spawn I'm not after, I'd be tempted to kill it in revenge. Heh. I am human and have a vicious temper. Revenge best served cold and all that. But all the names tend to blur together so I likely wouldn't recognize them.

I was on my DK last night, and helped some random hunter get Skoll since he popped up while I was waiting for TLPD. I seem to see him a lot, so it's not the first time I've done it.

Regarding payment.. my rule is, I only accept payment if they mail it to me later (unrequested by me). Got a stack of Cardinal Rubys back in the day once!! But if someone put 20,000 in the trade window....

Regarding the PVP, it depends. If I have someone coming, I'll disrupt if I can. If they are trying to steal from me, it's on.

Since i've had no luck getting the Vial of the sands pattern so far, I decided to stop Arch and wait for someone on my server to find it instead (it's really driving my mood down).
I'm currently gathering money so i can pay the first person to craft it for me, so i ended up in the Abandoned Reef on my druid while looking for herbs.

And I spotted the wee bugger again, and gladly my friend was 85 this time.



And his nerfbat, is indeed an aoe. XD I didn't expect that, so I'm glad to be alive on my lvl 80 druid. xD

Well, this has been an inspiration lately. Flying through Blasted Lands the other day on my hunter, I poked around and found Grunter. No clue why I was searching, as I wasn't willing to tame a new pet. Did a /who, expanded the parameters to include character from Grunter's level up to 85. Found a hunter, and sent him a tell out of the blue. He came racing over, and happily tamed the beast.
So, as I was flying out of the Dark Portal on my druid that I'm leveling, I decide to do a quick fly-over of Grunter's spawn location. Yep, he was there, sure enough. Manage to find a hunter, and another successful taming of Grunter ensued.

Now if only my luck with Grunter would extend to Grubthor, whom I actually want to tame...

You guys give hunters an awesome name! I'd like to add a hunter to the list of spirit beast finders. His name is Blackcloudz. I spent 6 months looking for Skoll on first my Belf hunter then my Draenei. Another friend found Skoll for me and I raced and tamed him on my Draenei. About two weeks before the expansion I wanted to get Skoll for my Belf hunter so I went over to start my camp. Blackcloudz was there waiting for the TLPD and whispered me. When I told him I was looking for Skoll he wanted to help...two hours later we're sitting chatting and who spawns in front of us? Skoll!

Fast foreword three weeks my Belf is 85 and I'm about to start looking for Ghostcrawler. Blackcloudz whispers me...he already had Ghostcrawler AND Karoma and spent the next three days helping me find them and Terrorpene.

My now Worgen (previously Draenei) hunter is on her search for Loque'nahak. I checked every once in a while but I needed to level her. Now she's 85 and can tame Jadefang . If I were more lucky with rares I would do exactly as you guys are, give them away...sadly I only have ever seen those rares when I'm about to tame them myself and then never seen again.

Managed to give away an Aotona the other day. I need to put up the screenshot. It's not a spirit beast but I love my hyacinth parrot. Flood the world with a legion of parrots! And their wings shall blot out the sun!

Anoootheeerrr oooone. <3 I found him in the afternoon already, but I was in a hurry to get to the town for some Christmas shopping, and I couldn't find anyone who'd want him.
When I came back home hours later, he was gladly still around! I bet I'm not going to run into him again when I'm high enough to tame him myself. XD

I got my Karoma thanks to a very nice druid who did a shout out about him being spawned.

My friend also plays a hunter-she just hit 83 last night-and she is wanting the dog and feline spirit beasts-she doesn't care too much about the crab, and we got Arcticus for her out of sheer luck and a kind guild member who spotted him up.

The other day she was working in Icecrown on her Argent dailies while I was out working on my Archaeology. She shouts in guild chat that a rogue just whispered her that Skoll was out. I dropped my pickaxe and used my Wormhole Generator (love being an engineer) to go to Storm Peaks. Check the first spawn point and there is a little blue wofie jsut strolling around without a care in the world. I land and start killing things around them while I party my friend and shout at her to get to where I am. I've got him hunter marked and am just walking along beside him, ready to trap if a hunter other then my buddy shows up.

All the while the rogue is up above me watching. I whisper them a thanks, let them know she's been looking for that wolf for a good while now, and she finally shows up to tame.

In thanks, she ended up naming her new puppy after the rogue who found him.

You guys are awesome for keeping up where I left out. I haven't seen any other rares other than those I tamed for myself. Except for the Ghostcrawler I gave away when I was still 81. Currently looking for Madexx and hoping WoW Santa will show it to me so I can tame, red or green
Anyway, I will keep hunting rares again when I have gotten Madexx. ^^

Novi's turn! While doing Therazane dailies, I saw that Jadefang was up again! I wanted her minipet to match Jadey. Well, I'm not a Night Elf or an Engineer and I've yet to see the daily pop. As it turns out, I'm soon joined by a Night Elf hunter. He mentions that yeah, he sees her too and doesn't know how to get up there. I felt a bit bad. I really do want her minipet. But, rares respawn, so I told him to get naked, die by the ledge and fly up there. He does! And a few moments later I see Shale Spider on beast tracking. Horray!
