Valnara: Purple And Fabulous

Unread post by TygerDarkstorm »

This is the story for my baby worgen warlock, Valnara. I hope you guys enjoy it. It feels a little short, but I think I'll leave it that way as it gives me a better chance to develop her further in RP. This is my take on the worgen starting zone so hopefully it's not too terrible. :?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An established warlock and alchemist who is obsessed with the color purple, Valnara's other love in life is herself.

Valnara was born in Gilneas to two master demonologists. As she grew, she gained her parents' affiliation for the dark arts. They gladly taught her what they knew, passing on their knowledge and occasionally having to stop their daughter from trying to dye her demons varying shades of purple. Once they felt that Valnara had learnt all she could from them, they sent her out into the 'real world.'

Still unsure of herself and what she wanted, Valnara opted to join the Gilneas front in trying to fend off the worgen invasion. She found the monsters interesting and she wanted to know if there was a way to harness their power. In an ironic twist of fate, Valnara was turned into a worgen. Luckily, she was soon captured by her fellow Gilneans after wreaking havoc, and she was given the chance to regain her mind and humanity.

Excited by this new prospect, Valnara embraced her new found body. She continued to help the Gilneans, this time against the new threat of the Forsaken. She actually tried capturing one of the Forsaken to turn it into a purple puppet, under the impression that the undead was a mindless being. This didn't work out so well and she nearly lost her life; thankfully for her her felguard and a well-timed spell managed to save her life.

Valnara was glad to leave these experiences behind, saying goodbye to Gilneas after they could no longer hold off the undead, and escaping with the others on the boat to Darnassus. While she loved that the night elves were purple (often referring to them as the "purple people"), she wasn't overly fond of their ways. She discovered from the locals that there was a ship to Stormwind, the human capital. Pleased with this, she assumed her human form so as to blend in at first, dismissed her felguard, and boarded the ship to Stormwind.

Upon arriving at the human capital, Valnara was immediately amazed and overwhelmed. She explored the huge city, falling in love with it and dubbing it her new home.

I would just like to add that this is very basic. It will go through at least one revision, if not more. It lacks the quality of Indi's story, which makes me sad, but Indi's story had a few errors and I'm hoping to avoid them this time around. It also doesn't give a very good chance to get to know Val's personality.

I just thought I'd throw it up here anyway and see what y'all think and maybe get an idea or two while I rewrite it for the fourth time. >_>

I like it. I think that's an awesome quirk there, loving the color purple. Also, yaaay warlocks! I've found (RP wise) that locks don't get a lot of love. I mean, -my- warlock isn't that bad a person. She's pretty decent and polite. But, because of the whole fel taint and demon thing, she tends to be disliked.

Except for quest NPCs.

NPC: "Yay! You slaughtered all the demons! You're our hero, warlock!"
Me: "Shhh! Maxwell doesn't like hearing that! It hurts his feeling when you hate his kind."

Really though. I do like this story. Augh. I'm derailing already.

Haha, thanks Azu, I'm glad you like it. ^_^
Lupis and I RPed with Val yesterday and it was a lot of fun because she brought out Lysender who's Val's polar opposite.

I'm still hoping to clean this up more and make it feel less like I'm just rewriting the worgen starting zone and more like a good, quality character story like Indi's. :)

Also, the purple quirk is amusing to play with because she'll just randomly be like, "OMG THAT'S PURPLE I MUST HAVE IT!" I see her as being in her early twenties, but acting quite naive and sort of child like.

Eh. I had a worgen story that was more or less a rewrite of the starter zone. Never started that worgen either. >.>;

So really, that's okay.

Just feels weird I guess, but I wanted to keep her story within established means as opposed to Indi's which is entirely made up by me and has timeline errors. =/

I like it. *Shrug* Having a simple backstory can be nice because there's no real rules as to how a character woudl react, beyond their personality. Lys worked as a Harvest Druid on a farm, then moved to Darnassus and Stormwind to study Night Elf druidism and alchemy.

Yeah, that's why I'm still sort of debating about leaving it or changing it. I kind of like it the way it is just because it allows for better development I think than a more complicated story is. It just feels so tiny next to Indi's. XD

But Val's also a lot younger than Indi so that would have something to do with it.

Heheh, I say leave it short if she's young, myself. I always find it strange when a 40 year old Tauren - 40 is around 19-20 in human age - has gone through 16 battles and a few random attacks. Unless she was way too young to do anything about it, she'd have to be in all those attacks in about a 10 year time, which really isn't that long.

Indi, though, is OLD, so she can have plenty of things going on in her life.

Yeah, I think I'm going to leave it short for these reason. She's still very young so her story really doesn't need to be as long.
