Which pet family is most in need of a new model?
But there are still some families still relying on ancient vanilla models. Which one do you reckon should get a new set of facelifted models next? Imo, bears are in the greatest need.

Followed by Devilsaurs who practically get no love. One's brown like poo, one's a hideous black and blue, one's a ridiculous white and magenta, and the other's a neon vomit green. Less horrid colors and updated models please!
Finally, a better model for the Springpaw Lynx. Even with Anti-Aliasing maxed, it's still got jaggies everywhere and looks horribly low res. Make it share models with the night elf druid forms like it used to.

Re: Which pet family is most in need of a new model?
My third choice would be Bats, and fouth would be Tallstriders. I like Devilsaurs and Sporebats as they are now really. But having a new Bat would be awesome, and more detail on the tallstriders would be great as well. Maybe some bats that look more Vamperic with bigger fangs and some red glowing eyes (Or even an ALL black bat.), maybe some of the tallstriders get some new colorful plumage to attract mates. So on and so forth.

Re: Which pet family is most in need of a new model?
The current bear model suffers from the "perma combat stance" Blizzard uses to simplify creature movements, e.g. the idea being to give it a crouch that lends itself (at least somewhat) as a default posture to both normal movement and combat, thereby reducing the amount of animations needed.
With cats (for example) this approach works because cats are generally sinuous and slinky. But with bears it makes them stick their very sizable hind end up in the air resulting in a look that is more "D'awwwww he's so CUTE!" than the awe inspiring savagery they are known for IRL (once they decide to fight that is).
IRL bears lurch along with fore legs at full or nearly full extension, causing their shoulders to be at least as high as their hips (or quite a bit higher in the case of grizzlies), which by itself looks impressive. In combat, they don't tend to crouch down unless it's to get at something down on the ground, otherwise they tend to retain the stiff legged posture as they like to attack downward using their height and weight for leverage. There is no need for them to be crouching in combat or otherwise.
In re: bats... I'm not sure exactly what it is about them that I find offputting other than perhaps the fact that their wings seem more like a couple plywood boards than leathery, jointed skin membranes...
