What would you guys have done under such a circumstance? I play on a PVE server so ganking him is not an option. Would you have tried to break the trap and disrupt his tame? Or would you just silently stand there and let your effort went to waste?

If you were on a pvp server you could have used conc shot to interrupt the tame.

I guess the only thing you could have done was breaking the trap and hope the bird would have killed the guy I guess

This is why it is best not to retaliate against innocent hunters, even if they're guilded with someone who wronged you in the past. Two wrongs do NOT make a right. Coming here and confessing isn't going to earn you any sympathy, regardless of how you were treated before.

We've seen it time and time again: hunters come here and post rants, only for the hunter they're ranting about to pop out of lurkdom and respond (and that's not taking the side of the ranter or the rantee). We're all part of the same community. The only people who deserve to have bad things happen to them are the ones who do bad things to others first.

This mentality of "well, it happened to me, so I can do it to someone else" makes you no better than the person who stole from you. You won't find sympathy here.

Yeap, I felt bad for you until I read the 5th or 6th post of yours. Since you were so upset about what happened to you and it caused you to "lose all incentive on camping rarespawns" you wanted to pass this BAD KARMA onto someone entirely innocent?


Just know that you now deserved to have that pet stolen from you. And now because of the actions that other person you stole it from either became very upset and possibly will do this SAME VERY THING to another innocent person, maybe even a friend of yours, or a guild member of yours.

Or maybe they just sat in the corner and cried for a bit, gave up hope and quit the game for awhile

On one hand, I appreciate that you were honest and admit that you lost it. Did you apologize to that hunter? I mean, yeah, it's easy to label a guild based on a few bad experiences. I've run into several guilds where I've had nothing but bad experiences.

On the other, that person never did anything wrong to you and now gets to feel the same way you do. Owch.

When the person comes here and basically asks for the forum's opinion on what was done (why post otherwise?), then it's not naming and shaming, since they stepped forward on their own. However, you're right that there's no need to pile on the person once the point's been made; at that point, only rebuilding/moving on is needed, which is more of what's been going on at this point.

I think its mainly that the OP was wanting to vent a bit and ask for a communities sympathy for an unfortunate event that occured, then they turned around and committed the same "crime" that they were originally the victim for.

But yeah hopefully they've learned more about it and I would hope that perhaps they would maybe have an awakening and help all hunters tame, regardless of faction.

Honestly? I didn't want to seem dog-piley. I just was stating I can really see both sides of it. Some poor sap got screwed out of a pet just as the OP did. But on the other hand? I'd be lying if I didn't have a little devil on my shoulder going 'THAT IS NOVI'S PET. GRAB EET.' I just have to throw a sock at the little demony wanker to shut him up.
