I wish my wolf was real...

Unread post by Torachi »

...Because right now I'm really wanting to send him to take a big chunk outta someone's rear end.

My fiance and I went out today to get a little fresh air and whatnot. We get home, walk into our room, and as I sit down and turn on my computer, I also grab our phone to see if the friend I was waiting for a callback from had called, and realize the handset is saying "Connecting..." which makes me figure that maybe we had a power surge or something along those lines, so I set it back on the base thinking it would come back online shortly. An hour passes, and no such luck, so my fiance and I go out to the kitchen for some drinks, and realize that the hallway power is out, the side-room power is out, and the dinning room power is out, which is where the phone is. The internet router is in the side-room. So we set about trying to rig something up so that the internet and phone have power.

This is where my step-father decided to put his two cents in. He starts complaining that our computers use up all the power in the house. Mind you, he hates computers and any new electronic device, because he doesn't understand them, and refuses to take the time to learn about them. He blames the computers for every electronic foul-up there is in this house, and for the $130-$140 electric bill, which yes, we are indeed helping to pay for. This irks me to no end, because I know for a fact our computers are not pulling that much power. Especially when they're not even on.

Sorry for the vent. >< I just needed to get that frustration and irritation off my chest. It's not good for me to hold it in, because if I do, I tend to get grouchy. >.> I'd like to remain in a relatively good mood if I can.

>.< Well now, that sucks. I know a few people like your step-father, and they are not fun to work with. I'm thankful my parents are a little open to new tech, seeing as how they're always asking me how to do things (seriously, I've had to explain to my dad twice how to setup a new contact in his email. XD ). Hopefully he won't pull your internet if/when he gets mad.

If the power to those rooms hasn't come back on if several hours though, sounds like you'll need to talk to your power company, or an electrician. Hopefully, it's something easily fixed.

He's one of the most impossible people to work with. -.- Just this morning my fiance and I were trying to tell him the birds nesting in the birdhouse on our back porch were house wrens, not nuthatchers... and oh boy did he have a hissy fit. He'd have none of it; they were nuthatches and that was that. Only kind we have here are the Brown-headed nuthatch, which has a blue body... and the birds on the back porch are all brown. O.O

And now apparently one of my friends, who is in the hospital at the moment, is a fat slob and so is her mother, because they're both on the hefty side. Honestly, not to make myself sound like a bad person, but... I wanted to strangle him for that.

Sounds like a pretty disagreeable individual to me.

Got that right, Saturo.

Though it does make me giggle maniacally when mom tells him off if he's irritating her. She'll usually chase him out of the house... so he goes and works on the fence... which looks like something out of a Stephen King novel. Sad thing is... it offers little to no protection against someone with even just half a brain. O.O All it requires is wire clippers... or just a nice, agile jump off the hood of a car.

Wow that sounds a lot like my mom and former step-dad! It was all about who was right. You could imagine how the evenings were in our house :? Fortunately that didn't last more then 3 years.

Boo for grumpy people who are unwilling to change or understand new things.

Mom was... considering leaving him back in March, because they had it out and it nearly sent her to the hospital. Stress plus a bad heart do not do well together. -.- But now, I dunno. Seems she doesn't want to feel guilty over leaving him

I agree wholeheartedly. >.> Especially when they tend to share the complete opposite of morals and such. I normally just shrug it off and ignore it, but sometimes.... Grrr.

I would suggest your mother carry around a shovel, because it worked wonders on my father. My tiny 5"2 worth of a Mom threatened my 6"5 worth of a Dad with a shovel twice her weight - it has been blessed SILENCE in the parental unit household for the last 3 years now XD

And yeah, your Step-Dad sounds like my real Dad. Utterly impossible to live with...and I don't have a darned clue how I managed to put up with him for 20 years.

He got into this major kerfuffle with his day nurse (he had a stroke and later attempted suicide...and missed...and then ended up with this day nurse and suicide watch, oye!) which I then had to spend hours racking up a phone bill across two states to try and convince this woman my father is hopelessly in need of someone to beat his head in with a rake. Long story short, I eventually did convince her to start bringing an outdoorsy object as 'protection' against my ranting father, and she started clonking him on the head with various things (including a closed fist) when he tried speaking ill of my elder sister and I.

Here's something you should remind your stepfather with - YOU pick his nursing home AND his coffin...and a cardboard box is starting to look like a NICE alternative to the former wooden one adorned with flowers. I implied that to my Dad and he suddenly got much nicer to my mother...

Haha oh my gosh. Threats of a bad funeral totally cracked me up on that. Me personally wouldn't care about that if I were aged but I can see that being quite the slap up side the head for some people.
