My fiance and I went out today to get a little fresh air and whatnot. We get home, walk into our room, and as I sit down and turn on my computer, I also grab our phone to see if the friend I was waiting for a callback from had called, and realize the handset is saying "Connecting..." which makes me figure that maybe we had a power surge or something along those lines, so I set it back on the base thinking it would come back online shortly. An hour passes, and no such luck, so my fiance and I go out to the kitchen for some drinks, and realize that the hallway power is out, the side-room power is out, and the dinning room power is out, which is where the phone is. The internet router is in the side-room. So we set about trying to rig something up so that the internet and phone have power.
This is where my step-father decided to put his two cents in. He starts complaining that our computers use up all the power in the house. Mind you, he hates computers and any new electronic device, because he doesn't understand them, and refuses to take the time to learn about them. He blames the computers for every electronic foul-up there is in this house, and for the $130-$140 electric bill, which yes, we are indeed helping to pay for. This irks me to no end, because I know for a fact our computers are not pulling that much power. Especially when they're not even on.
Sorry for the vent. >< I just needed to get that frustration and irritation off my chest. It's not good for me to hold it in, because if I do, I tend to get grouchy. >.> I'd like to remain in a relatively good mood if I can.
