Fwee! I've been meaning to post here for the last couple days.. But.. Let's say I hit a bit of a detour XD (Which, shall be addressed and explained in this post!)

So.. Incoming utterly HUUUUUUUUUGE post. I have a LOT of favourite pets here. Oi. Also VERY VERY image heavy. Urgh. Sorry it's gonna be so darn huge >.<;;;

For Sandfur (My main):

Nick:

Image

I love this guy so freaking much. He's one of the BEST pets I've had ever, and definitely one of my favourite pets of all time. He's a Brown Madexx, as some of you might have guessed considering my former habit of posting a lot about my love for the thing, and.. Honestly, was not a planned tame whatsoever. I wasn't even planning on getting Madexx at all really, though if I had been, I probably would have gone after the blue one. Interestingly enough, brown was a favourite of mine before I even tamed it.. If only because I was tired of the at-the-time spam of "REMOVE BROWN MADEXX BECAUSE THERE'S A NEW COMMON ONE IN THE NEXT PATCH!" stuff on the forums. Anyway, the reason I tamed this guy.. Back in February, I had transferred Sandfur to the Eonar server to play with a really good friend of mine, who at the time had been searching for Madexx himself. Brown was the only colour he didn't want.. And naturally, that's all that spawned for him XD Anyway, the night after I had transferred.. After my friend had logged off for the night, I had been questing in Uldum.. And had gone out to fly around where Madexx spawned.. And what do you know? I found a giant brown scorpid. And thank Arceus it WAS brown or I would have felt terrible if I had tamed it XD But luckily, it was brown, and I tamed it. And, for added irony, I even named him after the friend that had been looking for Madexx XD

Duma:

Image

Ah Duma.. My first great and "best" pet. This little guy stuck with Sandfur from lvl 13 all the way to when I hit Northrend and got to lvl 76.. Where I promptly released him and retamed him as a saber cheetah from Sholazar. *Facepalms* It.. Didn't work, and that cat got the boot. Queue a good.. 2 year long emotional struggle on what to do. Every time I ventured out to the Barrens to find Dishu again and once again tame Duma.. It never worked. It was like it was just some random cheetah with Duma's name tacked onto it. Yet.. I kind of kept hope that someday I'd find that I could get him again and it'd feel.. Right. Though I mostly forgot about that after I found a new best pet to use instead, my Madexx. Now.. Fast forward to a day ago. Derping around on the forums.. I had stumbled upon this thread and had started to ponder which pets were my favourites.. Of course my mind kept going back to Duma (And another old pet of mine, who shall be shown right after this~), and I kept wondering.. Should I mention him? Should I dig up an old picture of him? Those thoughts kept swimming in my head.. And I ended up going and reading through my last attempt to get Duma again (Which can be found on these forums, in fact.) and well... After a while (And after doodling him a bit) I.. Logged onto WoW and headed over to the Barrens, where I found that familiar little cheetah waiting for me among some lions. And remarkably.. Despite everything I expected and all the other times... It's him. It really is. Duma is back. He's truly back. For good this time. (Interesting note, Duma is named after the cheetah from the movie.. Duma. Who in turn was named so due to the word duma meaning cheetah in Swahili. (Or.. At least some African language XD))

Bankotsu:

Image

And here's the other pet that went along with Duma.. He shares a very similar story to the cheetah -- One of my best pets, released during my journey in Northrend, retamed countless times only to find it wasn't truly him. And.. Like Duma, by some miracle he's recently come home for good. On another note.. I adore this guy. He's one of my favourite pets ever. I love how he looks (I mean, he's a ZOMBIE WOLF!) and well.. He just has charm, in my opinion. I dunno what I like about his appearance.. I just find the diseased wolves to be remarkably lovable. Which.. Is why I tamed him in the first place. I remember WAAAAY back when I was lvl 48.. I had zoomed my way through the levels before that because I wanted a Felpaw Wolf from Felwood so darn much. ('Course, I didn't realize there were lvl 47 wolves there too, but that's beside the point.) And during the race to that level.. I ended up forming the most amazing plan ever for this pet. I would name him after a character that I utterly adored from an anime I liked! Fittingly, the character he was to be named after had.. Well, died 10 years prior to the main story of said anime, only to be revived by the main villain. Hence why I thought a zombie wolf would suit him! (.. That and I'm just a hopeless fangirl for the guy XD) And so, that is how this guy got his name, though now.. He's usually referred to as "Ban-Ban" instead XD

Harley:

Image

I stinking LOVE this guy. King Krush has always been a pet I've liked, ever since first reading tame/horror stories about him on the original Petopia forums. I never saw him except for one time on an alt.. Where I tried but failed HORRIBLY at taming him (WAY too many people interfering.. >.<) and had almost gotten the chance to tame him on my main when someone in general chat had mentioned finding him.. Only to have a random person come up and kill him before I could fly over and tame him. Now, fast forward to August of last year.. Derping around in Sholazar.. Only to run smack dab RIGHT into the giant green 'Saur. A quick and frantic /who revealed that there was a Priest in the Basin, who agreed to come and help me tame him. After a few attempts (Three, if I remember correctly) he.. Was mine! 'Course, I died the very second after, but he was mine! And holy crap was I just plain freaking out. I was shaking like a freaking earthquake XD Boy was I just plain ecstatic over getting this guy. (Another note.. He was named by none other than one of my good friends from the forums, Kamalia~!)

Banryu:

Image

Ghost hydra <3 Yep, I has the ghost hydra, and boy do I freaking love her. She goes along great with Ban-Ban, by the way! (.. Mostly cause she's actually named after the sword of Ban-Ban's namesake XD)

Voltali:

Image

I believe this is the last of Sandfur's pets for this.. Anyway.. Lightning puppy! I spent DAYS looking for this pup. And I mean it. So much time spent in the Storm Peaks.. *Shudders* But I finally found it! Actually.. Voltali used to be a male. Named Raiden. The reason was I had an in-game friend who's main character was named that, and since the name has ties to thunder and electricity.. I thought it'd be fun to name my Skoll that. Then.. Said friend made a complete ass of himself and was no longer a friend. Hence, I needed a new named for my lightning puppy. This was a while back, so it was when the original forums were still up.. I ended up asking for help with a name, and because I had briefly mentioned my love for Pokemon the name 'Voltali' was suggested, as it's the French name for Jolteon. (Ironically, it turns out, the name had been suggested by.. None other than Kamalia! Years before I even officially met her. Odd, no? XD)

And now.. For the only alt I still pay at least a bit of attention to.. Varadoria! (I'll try to keep this one relatively quick XD)

Taiga:

Image

Dear god how I love this snake. He's essentially the Duma for Vara, really. Been with her since around lvl 24 (Which was the level where I was able to take my scorpid and go solo Wailing Caverns far enough to get a snake XD) and has stuck with her ever since. Despite what some might say about Cunning pets.. This guy has served me remarkably well, I can assure you that <3

Gahiji:

Image

Eeee! I ADORE this Warpy~! He's just so.. Charming, I suppose. I love him so freaking much it's not even funny. Like Taiga, he's comparable to one of Sandfur's pets, this time Ban-Ban, as while they're both as well loved as the sooner-to-arrive-pet, they were tamed far later. I still adore this guy just as much as Taiga, though <3

Harrow:

Image

And boy does she live up to her name! Harrow is named such as she provided QUITE the harrowing experience to get! As you can guess, she's a Bloodfalcon, from The Botanica. Hence.. I ended up having to find two other players to help me get her, since the pet's apparently hard to get even for a lvl 80, and Vara here is 5 levels shy of that. Luckily, it was a FAIRLY easy adventure overall, and like Taiga, Harrow has proven that Cunning pets are far greater than what most seem to think <3

Envy:

Image

One of the newest additions to Vara's stable, Envy.. Isn't what I'd call one of my utterly favourite pets, as I have pets on Sandfur that I pay far more attention to despite not paying much attention to them compared to others in Sand's stable, but.. Out of Vara's pets, I gotta say Envy is one of my favourites, if only for her looks. (An awesome little thing to note is that once while in Orgimmar.. I had Envy with me and had gone into the Auction House, only to find that another Hunter's pet, an icy worg, was standing pretty much right next to me and Envy. And what its name was just cracked me up. What was it? DeadlySin. A pet named Envy next to one named DeadlySin. How utterly amazing is that? XD)

...WOW that was a heck of a lot longer than I expected. Sorry DX;;;

Re: Show Off Your Favorite Pets!

Unread post by Finduilas »

Yesterday I did the pictures of my four Horde-Hunter's favourite pets. I'll put them in here with two posts, please excuse the picture flood, I really love too many pets

I'll start with my first hunter, Morga, the Orc.
First and most important pet for him is his tiger Arod. I tamed him when he dinged 10 back in BC on a island in Durotar. The tigers now are gone from there, but I'm sooooo happy he still is at Morga's side. This pet was my fellow for all levels until 70 (and later on to 80 and 85). I didn't know about pet abilities back then and I didn't care when someone told me about "better cats". He will always be at my side.
Image

Then there is Dobby. I was happy when the purple warpstalker was finally tameable, made my fiance help me and now I have my lovely Dobby. He is mostly my tanking companion when I don't use my white bear and I get asked a lot of questions where I got him from. His name is from the house elf Dobby in Harry Potter, and I think it's the perfect name for this funny pet. He likes to make silly faces but would always protect Morga.
Image

Nala, my hyena is named after my RL-cat. She is also spotted, cute and giggles. The perfect match.
Image

Schneemähne (Snowmane) is one of the most beautiful pets in the game. I love her to pieces. Morga tamed her one day on a whim in the barrens, paying a young toon some gold to get the tame. I really love her when I play MM.
Image

Varg was the very first spirit beast I tamed when they came out. I ended up releasing him one day, when we still had only 5 pet slots, because he didn't do enough damage in my opinion and I hated his "moonfire", because he casted it from range distance before running to the target. I re-tamed him after the SB got the healing and I love him. I think wolfes just match Orcs so good. I never could get friends with the northrend worgs, but as a flashy spirit beast? Oh yes.
Image

Pets I didn't take (yet) screenshots of for Morga's extended favorite pets: Alcuin (the hunched black cat from Zul Gurub), Amitola (Magria), Lars (white bear)

edit: had to grab dinner; now for the next pets

Larkania is one of my "younger" hunters. I leveled her up and did a lot of pet- and pet theme challenges with her. She doesn't have such a deep bond with one of her pets like Morga shares with Arod, but I have severals pets I really like much with her.

First one is Makah, her Shadowclaw. I'm not very fond of the Saber Cats, but this cat made me change my opinion about them. "Normal" cats really tend to look small next to a Tauren, but he is just fine. His massive back makes him appear bigger and I like his black and grey colors a lot. He is Larkanias MM pet and her questing fellow.
Image

A personal surprise was the first Devilsaur I ever tamed. It's a common brown one from Un'Goro, the Devilsaur Queen. I never had tamed a devilsaur before her, I just was "eeewwwww" at the white, didn't like camping for green and felt no fattraction towards black. I only tamed this pet because of the Monstrous Bite for pvp and I really ended up loving her. She is named Njenna, a name from the Sami people in northern Scandinavia. Once I stumbled upon Krush, tamed him, but released him again, because Njenna really had grown on me and his green just wouldn't fit Larkania.
Image

One of Larkania's favorites is her rhino. I tamed him as soon as she hit 69 in the borean tundra. I love rhinos, I never could click with them on my other hunters, as much as I tried, but now he finally came home. Purzel was first Morga's rhino, I released him, tamed him again on Findu, released him again and then it was Larkania's turn and it was just "click" "perfect". I love big pets next to my Tauren. Once I tamed a seagull, but it looked so ridiculous next to her, I just couldn't take this pet serious. The bigger, the better is the perfect description for Larkania.
Image

Pets I didn't take screenshots of: her red Fox Cream, Lodjur (brown lynx) and Cinnamon (dark brown owl) all from the random pet theme challenge. Pictures can be found there.

Re: Show Off Your Favorite Pets!

Unread post by Finduilas »

So, sorry for double post, but I didn't want to pack four hunter's favorite pets into one huge wall of pics/text. And I really have too much pets I love (and too much hunters perhaps).

These are Finduilas' favorite pets. Her stable is almost full and I could have taken pics of every pet in it (like with my other hunters, too) but if I have to narrow it down, these are her closest.

Freya, her godess. Finduilas' name theme is nordic gods and swedish towns (one day I ran out of god names I liked, so I switched to town names) and Freya is one of the pets she has had the longest. Finduilas also has her "dark sister", Frenja, you can see her in my signature. It was when I first found out about Petopia, I saw the pic of the ghost kittie and went all "must have". She was my first "Petopia-pet". I still get asked a lot where I got her from, and I even once met a player telling me "you have this pet from Dun Morogh, they can only be tamed there" - I told him to take a closer look, and the ghost form can only be found in the statues in Darkshore - he didn't believe me and called me names for lying about my pet. I just left him with his wrong view and put him on igno.
Freya is the godess of love in northern mythology (well and the one of the crops and spring) and this pets really represents her for me. She fits Findu's personality and is her loyal friend.
Image

Hönir. He was the first rare I tamed with Findu. He is Humar the pridelord from the barrens, a level 18 rare. I don't know if I remember it correctly but I think he used to be of higher level (please correct me if I'm wrong). I tamed him back in BC, when there was no Pitch and no Sholazar Basin. He killed Finduilas twice before she managed to tame him (they were the same level and he used to call adds sometimes). I read about the freezing trap to tame easier years later. Finduilas was my pvp toon. I leveled her up to 39 and spread fear among the Alliance. When I got bored, I leveled her up to 49 and again she was my pvp toon. She and Hönir really were feared back then (it was when you didn't get xp from a bg) and the only one they feared was a nasty gnome rogue (we met him quite often, sadly). I was used to be the first one in every battleground and Hönir really helped by eating our enemies' faces off. He is, like Freya, one of the pets that will never leave my stables.
Image

The ghost wolf, Fjölnir. I read about the tameable spirit wolf when it was too late to tame him and really could have hit myself. I have always wanted to tame this pet when I played a Tauren in Mulgore. When Cataclysm was released my cry of joy was sure be heard in the neighbourhood. A spirit beast, but with the look of the spirit wolf. I was happy. First I got him on Morga, who was my first char to reach 85 and he loves his Shio. Then Findu reached 85 and I camped days for Karoma. He is such a pretty pet and I like taking him to dungeons with Findu.
Image

Falun the fox. There was a time (at level 80) I decided only to tame white pets. I tamed a white owl, a cat, a bear and so on. When it was first possible to get into the ruins of Gilneas with Cata and the release of foxes, he was one of the first pets I tamed. Of course he had to be white. Finduilas' stables changed since then, but I still have Falun and although he is not her number one go to pet, I still love him and sometimes take him to a dungeon with her. He is just so fully of personality and cuteness, I could never let him go.
Image

Pearl, Findu's Ankha. She was one of the most painful camps. I spent two weeks on top of the rock between her walk, having parked Morga on top of Ban'thalos tree. I wanted badly to have all new spirit beasts. So I camped with Findu, used eagle eye to check all the spawn points of the cats and Banny. I missed Magria twice and Ankha once, because I had been tabbed out of the game and didn't have it in window mode, so npc-scan didn't blare off. I will never do this mistake again when camping. Pearl is Findu's new pvp partner, together with her Ban'thalos Menja. I change between both, but if I had to decide, I would keep Pearl. She is one of the few exceptions to Findu's name theme, but she didn't accept any other name, it had to be Pearl.
Image

Nerdanel is my youngest hunter. She collects only white/purple/pink/blue pets.
I picked three of my favorite pets with her, although I love her others, too.

Milka is the pet I had in mind when I made Nerdanel. She is the lavender saber cat from Winterspring. I very much wanted to have this pet earlier, but it never fit any of my other hunters. So I had to have a hunter especially for her. When Nerdanel dinged 52 a few weeks ago this pet was my first stop and never left her active stable since.
Image

Aquila was one of the first pink pets Nerdanel tamed. I flew over to Muglore to tame Mazzranache and amazingly he was there just waiting to be tamed. I took a few screenshots with the babies before I tamed him. I know that Aquila means "eagle" in Latin, but this name just stuck.
Image

Snickers is one of the pets I got assigned in the random pet challenge. I had to run deadmines over and over again (I forgot how many runs, but something over 20), found the Albino parrot twice until finally I saw him. My fiance had helped me to do the dungeon faster, because I really was annoyed after 6 runs by my slow speed. I never even had thought about this pet before the challenge. I had tried once to tame him with my Tauren, but given up after 15 runs with no sighting. He now is a perfect pet for Nerdanel's stables and I'm looking forward to the matching Minipet.
Image

Again sorry for the many pics, but I really love my hunters and their pets ;)

I was able to narrow down to six pets that I love and use often. I have many other pets that I love for sentimental reasons, but they rarely get out of the stables.

Hahadori~
Image
I could talk about this girl forever. Wassa isn't Wassa without Hahadori. She never leaves the first active slot on my pet list. She's my oldest pet, my iconic pet, the pet I love the most, and the guild mascot. Well, she isn't my pet, I'm her pet. She became infamous on my old server for tanking Hakkar and other bosses. Hahadori is truly the Strider Clutchmother, as she has many mates and chicks she made her mates raise for her. She loves to be the center of attention and will screech loudly just to let everyone know she is here. She is bold, always first to charge into battle. Extremely vain, she can be seen quickly preening her feathers during battle inbetween kicks and bites to make sure she always looks perfect.

Ackee~
Image
Named after my feral druid, Ackee is how I see troll druids. These red lynxes aren't blood elf pets to me. They are as troll as a cat can be. Ackee is a nervous cat, wary of strangers, and always twitching her ears in crowds as she stays close to Wassa's side. However, she is a fierce fighter when need be. When alone together, Ackee will make soft chuffing noises to Wassa to show she is content.

Kianga~
Image
Originally named Strawberry as a joke in my guild (I was nicknamed Waffles, so we became Strawberry Waffles), this wind serpent was my Sunwell raiding pet. She just matched perfectly with my t6. I had to let her go in Wrath, but she was my first retame when we got 25 stable slots. Now renamed to Kianga, which means sunbeam, as I always see her as my pet from the Sunwell. Kianga is a calm wind serpent that likes to wrap her long snake-like body around Wassa, only taking to flight during battle.

Dziko~
Image
Dziko (pronounced ZEE-ko) was a surprise tame. I already had a turtle to tank, but I wanted to try out a worm for aoe tanking and ended up using him more than I ever use my turtle, even after they nerfed him and now losses aggro when aoeing. Dziko is called "my boy" and "bud" by our resto shammy, as he has emergency tanked many heroics. Dziko is a goofy, always happy worm. Old world worms do have very expressive faces and a cute little smile that I think most hunters overlook.

Vakasa~
Image
No Wassa in the picture with him. Vakasa is a grumpy old ravager that wasn't even the least bit glad Wassa freed him from his cage the draenei put him in. He attacked her! Still wild and aggressive, he and Wassa have an uneasy alliance between each other. The teal ravager was the skin I wanted the most to be added into the game back when so many skins where unused. Thanks Noah.

Lesedi~
Image
I always would say, "I won't tame a spirit beast until Blizzard makes a bird one." Well, here is my spirit beast, and Lesedi is perfect. His name means "the light" and Wassa worships him almost like a loa. Lesedi, who is quite intelligent, is amused to be worshiped and in turn watches over Wassa and will protect her during times of danger.

Okay, since I did Mel's, I decided to do my other higher-levelled hunter, Tanglewood. He's not yet level 80, but he's actually pickier than Mel when it comes to picking out pets. When I was looking at his stable, it just struck me that these are the only three I'd consider the ones he's most attached to.

Briarclaw:

Image

I admit, I started Tanglewood after looking at Nyhm. And this was back in the day where you didn't get a pet until level 10, and you had to go out and tame it yourself. I stared at Petopia for a while, trying to decide on the perfect first pet for him when I saw this beautiful cat skin. I was desperately hoping I could find it at level 10, and it turned out that I was in luck. Way back then, you could find Moonstalker Runts at level 10 in Darkshore. It was a hell of a run, but given that I was never taking him back to Eversong/Silvermoon, it was really an investment in his future. She's his Briar-girl, and she's been at his side for ages. More often than not, she's the one by his side.

Shockwing:

Image

I levelled Tanglewood almost exclusively on Kalimdor, with the exception of Stranglethorn Vale on EK. This meant that he got to go through the wonder of the Barrens and Thousand Needles - and I got pulled into the Arikara storyline. I was right at the perfect level and I'd just read about Arikara keeping his summon effect. All of this put together meant that I had to have him. I tamed him on-level, and for ages, I had a wonderful wind serpent that would BAMF into being anytime I dismounted. It makes me so sad that he doesn't have his summon effect anymore.

Stormfrost:

Image

I admit that I've always had a thing for taming elites. When Tanglewood finally could tame exotic beasts, the first exotic I decided on was a chimaera and, while I could get one just like it up in Winterspring, I wanted to tame an elite. I chose an Arcane Chimaerok from the Isle of Dread in Feralas. I waded in as far as I could, found one, and walked out the proud owner of a flappy chimaera. His name is kind of obvious, but it fits with Tanglewood's naming scheme, and he was Tanglewood's companion through a lot of Outland thanks to Roar of Recovery.

He just recently tamed a few more pets that might be making their way onto the list of favourites, but so far, these three are it.

I have a lot of favorite pets on my main, but I'm going to keep it short for her because I'd end up posting everybody from her stable, so I'm going to go with the obvious.

Hawkbane

Image

I went through years of utter hell for this cat ever since I'd missed him the first time back in early BC. I was floored by his sudden disappearance and heartbroken because he'd been the sole reason why I'd changed Toph from a draenei shaman to a blood elf huntress, aside from shaman being completely unplayable for me. Fast forward to winter of this year, and I'd finally gotten up the urge to campaign for Hawkbane's return, and miraculously, it worked! I've only ever stabled Hawkbane once since taming him, and it had been very brief. He goes everywhere with Toph, and if I had to release all but one pet, Hawkbane would be my keeper.

The top seven favorites for Dejanira, my main over on Nesingwary:

Battra

Image

This guy goes everywhere with Dejanira, and aside from her beige chimaera, Ghidorah, Battra was who I was looking forward to taming the most. My reason for choosing a swiftwing shredder to embody my absolute favorite kaiju instead of a moth is because I feel that a cute, fuzzy moth just isn't fitting for him in the game, but the swiftwing shredder was absolutely perfect. It's fierce-looking, and the coloration is quite close to Battra's. His personality is directly spot on to that of his namesake's. He's a guardian, and while there are times where he'll show gentleness and affection towards Dejanira, most of the time, he's busy keeping an eye out for trouble and in battle, he's quite fierce - a warrior through and through. Like Vephriel's Skorn, I see Battra as having a slight difference in his coloration from other swiftwing shredders. His eyes are a dark blood red as opposed to green and the orange accents have a more reddish tinge to them.

Belvera

Image

I haven't even had this cat for a day and I already love her to bits. After the roller-coaster ride of a run through Ulduar, I feel that she was well worth it, even though I've decided that I will never tame another swarming guardian ever. Such a nerve-wracking tame and I was stressed to hell and back. Belvera's personality ended up being different than that of her namesake's. My panther is affectionate and carefree, which really made me happy after all it took to get her. She's named after the dark Elias from the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy, who, in the first movie, was a mischievous sort who wanted to control Desghidorah. I haven't seen the second and third movies yet, but I read that she changes. As with Battra, Belvera goes everywhere with Dejanira, and I will never stable her.

Gamera

Image

Gamera is Dejanira's very first tame, which was originally on a whim. I knew I wanted a turtle named after Gamera in Dejanira's kaiju-themed stables, but I'd never tamed a turtle before and had no clue how I would click with one. He was originally a plagued snapper from the Ghostlands, and I'd stumbled upon him while questing through there. He was by his lonesome in the lake up by where you kill the spirits of the drowned for a quest. The click wasn't instant, but I found myself enjoying how adorable the turtle emotes are. It wasn't till I had to go to Deathholme that Gamera finally clicked for me. I've always needed help killing the elite guy there, but Gamera came through, and I was floored with how well he did. People who said that turtles are awesome tanks are right. Gamera's my go-to tank, and even though he's a bit slow-witted, he's very dependable and always there when I need him, so whenever I quest, I always bring him with me.

Ghidorah

Image

This guy was the main reason for my insane rush to level 69. I absolutely adore chimaeras, and when I'd decided upon a kaiju themed stable for Dejanira, I knew that I had to have Ghidorah, and that the beige Azeroth-model chimaera was absolutely perfect despite the fact that they only have two heads as opposed to the three of his namesake. Like his namesake, Ghidorah is quite brutal and ruthless, but he does have his moments of silliness and times where he'll show Dejanira affection.

Gojira

Image

Godzilla isn't exactly my favorite kaiju, but my stable wouldn't be complete without the King of the Monsters. I'd debated between a warp stalker and a crocolisk since I felt that both were equally fitting, till I remembered that despite being a land-dwelling dino, Godzila spends a lot of time in water, just like a crocolisk. I decided on Mahamba, the rare crocolisk from Northern Stranglethorn because I felt the colors fit best. I used Gojira, Godzilla's original Japanese name, since the former is more than likely unable to be used, and it took me a while to truly bond with and appreciate him due to the fact that he was just as abrasive and volatile in mood as his namesake, which is a big reason why he's not one of my favorite kaiju. When I went to Vashj'ir, though, I found myself having Gojira out with me for most of the zone because of how well he fit in there, and he ended up earning his place as my secondary tank for whenever I decide to give Gamera a rest.

Gyaos

Image

While Battra is Dejanira's guardian, Gyaos is her best friend. Since I'd tamed a turtle to name after Gamera, I knew that I absolutely had to do the same for his nemesis, Gyaos, who, despite being classed as a mutant bird, looks very bat-like., so that's what I chose to go with. Gyaos's personality ended up being radically different from that of his namesake's, and I'm forever amused by this. Where his namesake is blatantly evil, bloodthirsty, and unforgiving, Gyaos in game is loving, friendly, and all around pleasant company, save for when he randomly murders innocent moths for snacks even though I keep him well fed. As with Battra and Belvera, Gyaos is one of my constant companions, though I can put him up in the stable and not feel guilty about it whenever I need to use his active slot for someone else, because I know that he won't hold it against me.

Mothra

Image

For a long time, Mothra was my absolute favorite kaiju till Battra usurped that title from her, but she's still my second favorite, and I just adore moths both in-game and off-game. She was one of the absolute must haves of Dejanira's stable theme, and I knew that the yellow moth model was absolutely perfect for her, and that the lowest leveled ones were the royal teromoths in Terokkar Forest. Mothra ended up being much like her namesake personality-wise. She can be calm and gentle, but if you mess with Dejanira, Mothra won't hesitate to rush to her aid. She also enjoys showering Dejanira with dust from her wings, which is my absolute favorite moth emote and always makes me smile whenever it comes up.

There were more of Dejanira's pets I wanted to post about, but I forced myself to narrow it down to seven of them because otherwise, this post would've become too long.

I meant to post this sooner, but I went away for the weekend. Better late than never, though! All critters are modeled more or less where they used to live, while yours truly models her bloodsail outfit, because I never get to wear it. Here we go!

Image

Kegan
Kegan is Dara's oldest and most dear pet. He has been with her since she was in her mid-forties, and he toddled along after her critting for three damage and calling it good. He's always been her go-to guy, and the one by her side for dinging max level. He's also been around for most of her important RP plot-points, including being Best Cat at her wedding. He'll be there for her until the end.

Image

Charlie
One of Har'koa's wayward kittens, Charlie was my very first spirit beast, and one of Dara's best buds. Spent hours camping him, then he showed up one evening while I was doing mining loops. Go figure. He's named after Charlie B. Barkin, not Charlie the unicorn, despite what former guildmates maintain. Though no longer the moonfire expert, he's still a common sight for Dara.

Image

Jerkface
Despite his name, Jerkface is well loved and respected by his mistress, though it is occasionally under question if this strong-willed reptile feels the same. His strong independent streak was made clear during his original taming under his white scaled appearance, wherein he broke himself out of his ice trap mid-tame and vanished, only to attack from behind while I looked around in confusion. Since then he's undergone a few color-changing molts, but his bite-first-ask-questions-later attitude and strong, if sometimes grudging, loyalty remain. He is a fine tank, and is looking his most handsome in his dark scales.

Image

Fish
Fish was a rescue from the Scarlet Monastery, lured away by the promise of oranges. Hyenas can no longer eat fruit, and he's technically that rare from Tanaris now, but in his heart he will always be Fishfish stolen from the Scarlets. Before the expanded stables, Fish spent more time "at home" than in active use, and still doesn't see as much use as I'd like, but he brings back good memories, so he's home for good.

Image

Orrin
Orrin is Dara's newest catch, and already becoming a fast favorite. He's been taken on as the supposed spirit of the pet of the hunter who trained her, back from the beyond to make sure she's not screwing everything up. She pretty much has, but them's the breaks.

He's really much prettier than I first assumed he'd be, even though I was a fan of Olm's new skin. He's shiny and I really like the glowing trail he leaves; I'm sure we'll be friends fr a while.

Oh yay, I'm glad this is here. I was wanting to do a thread about this just for myself but I love "for more than one person" threads so much more. :D

Okay, so here are my top three; the pets that I NEVER put int he stables because I feel empty without them:

Krush
In short, he's my baby. My green, giant, pixelated baby. I honestly do not know what I would do without him. He was the first pet that I just could not let go, or even think about letting go. When I first learned that I could tame a green devilsaur, I just KNEW I HAD to have him or I could not go on playing this game. I remember when I tamed him I gave the guy who announced his spawn in lolazar general chat every cent in my bags, on all toons. I was just so happy! We've been through so many adventures together, good and bad. What's even more fun, is that on my server, not many people use King Krush, so when my friends see a green dinosaur, they immediately think it is me, and most of the time they're right. Krush is just... god I don't even know how to properly explain how much he means to me. I sometimes imagine him as being puppy-like. I remember a few years back writing a short story where Mia was playing fetch with him. Other than puppy-like, he's very loyal and loving, and very protective of his mamma Mia (lol). You'll always find him by her side. :)
Image

Banthalos
Oh Banny. My absolute favorite spirit beast. I love owls and I love shiny things so after getting Ban'thalos on the PTR, I had to have him on live. I logged on as soon as I possibly could, got my quests to get into the correct phase done, sat int he tree and camped for 12 hours until I had tamed him. And not that it matters, but I found I could bond with him more since he was the server's first. It just made him seem all the more glorious. As for his personality, I see him as very loyal and trustworthy. He's a bit more independant than Krush, sometimes liking to go off scouting the area when not asked, but he's pretty content with staying by Mia. He likes to show off a bit because he knows how gorgeous he is, but he doesn't flaunt too much. He likes to perch on Mia's shoulder or Krush's back.
Image

Lucas
Oh god, Lucas. <3 He's such a great companion. I sometimes like o think of him as the Fluttershy of my stables (in that he's super quiet shy and isn't assertive unless he really has to be). He's a very shy little wind serpent who is very attached to his mamma. He loves to help Mia find camel figurines, or help with anything else that doesn't involve combat (I never have growl on for him, it just isn't fitting). He's usually found wrapped around Mia's waist or shoulders, clinging to her. If someone new shows up he'll hide behind her until she reassures him. He's just so precious, I love him!
Image

Other pets that mean a lot to me:

Jadefang
Mia thinks Jadefang is one of the cutest things in the world. She totally babies her and will cuddle her (yes, she cuddles a rock beast) and Jadefang will squee in happiness. :P She's Mia's first choice for a tank pet, and always her PvP pet. Jadefang is serious business though when it comes to combat. Though Mia sometimes gets distracted by her squeeing, which doesn't turn out that great!
Image

Image
Orrin was the first pet to stick when I started to realize that Mia being a rare collector was starting to turn me off. I only had two pets that were my top favorites, and not too many others that I actually bonded with. He sort of, to me, represents a new beginning. Thanks to him I learned that I can bond with non-rares and actually be more happy with non-rares in my stable. I felt more free to do what I wanted. As for his personality, he can be a bit silly at times, is clever (what raptor isn't, though?), and is a total sweety. He likes to use his cuteness or fierceness to get what he wants, depending on what works best. On a side note, I ttoally love his swirly nostrils. <3
Image

Teshi
Teshi was the second non-rare pet I bonded with then I started to clean out my stables. He's a very loving and silly little worm. :) He loves to make people laugh, and will resort to tickling the very ticklish Mia to hear it. He's just a big loving goofball all around. :D
Image

Paul
Wait, what? This pet isn't green! This pet hasn't got a spit of green on him, what's he doing here?? Yeah, I never thought I'd bond with a non-spirit beast cat before, and Pogeyan at that! So the sotry of Paul, well, I had a frend looking at Lucas, and he told me it wasn't a very fitting name for a serpent. I asked wtf he was talking about and he responded with "It's like naming a cat Paul." So just to bug my friend, I went out, looked for Pogey, and he wasn't up. So, I flew to Uldum got a hunched tiger for Paul's temporary skin. And of course I bothered my friend. After that, though, I went back to Stranglethorn because I just felt that the name Paul fit with Pogey so much better than a tiger. I waited for a little bit, accidentally scaring a semi-camper away, leaving to go do something... then coming back and there he was! Afterwards I took him to BT and he tanked it like a pro, and an offhand warglaive dropped! Which was awesome because the group I run with has too many main hands drop and this was out first offhand. So now I take Paul to BT every week, and every week he holds aggro so well. He's the tough guy of my stables, ready to rip peoples faces off and make sure they know he's doing so.
Image

Mordecai
Mirth Bird is Mordecai's nick name. When I first tamed, him he basically spammed me with mirth emotes, but I wasn't sure of the bond so I let him go for an orange outland bird instead, boy was that a big mistake. Afterward I COMPLETELY regretted doing that, so I rushed back and tamed the same bird in the spawn I tamed earlier until I got my Mirth Bird back. So here's Mordecai, in all his Mirthful glory. :P
Image

And I'm going to have to post the rest of my closest pets later. Gotta go to class! (wish me luck on my gov test please o.o)

I have seen all ur awesome Stories. And ive decided to show off my Faw pets! I hope you all like theese stories.! I have imagined up. About the pets and some storyline ^^ <333
My english writing arent the best! But i bet you all will understand what i wrote i hope!! ^^

Image

The name of this beauty is Amadeus!. I have that name from my old doggie ^^. Really love that name, and i think it fits this saber.!. This is my number 1 Faw! And allways will be!.

The day was cold. Soo cold that i could freeze to death!. But my will to get to the top of Winterspring, kept me going!
To find the Rare Saber tiger, Called Rak'Shiri!. I had heard about him, from alot of hunters Around Winterspring, But noone of them could find him, And they told me that if i found him, i should kill him right away. His pelt was worth ALOT, and he would be aggresive they said. They swore that he would kill me the minute he saw me!.
But i didnt believe them, I had learned from my father back in the day, that every beast have their good sides, and i was gonna find it in Rak'shiri.!
Finally i reached the Frostsaber Rock!. I swear i could hear all the frostsabers Roar all over the rock.!. But that didnt scare me, So i just kept going, Down the hill. I had my little Owl that i had tamed, To aid me if any of the other sabers decided to make me their dinner.
The owl was really scared, she could allmost not keep up with me, Because i was running.. And Then!! i could hear another Roar!. This Roar was different, than the others i had heard!. It was alot darker in the sound.
I was looking trought the mist, but could not see at all.! when the mist had dissapeared alittle, i saw something green coming towords me,!. My owl! she turned around in fast speed and fled!. I was screaming after her!, but she was too scared to listen to me!. Then i saw clearer.! Green eyes Blue fur!.
Rak'Shiri!!, i could see his green eyes! Screaming to me!. It looked like he wanted me to tame him!. When i started the tame. His eyes got more and more attached to me.! and when the tame was finished.! He ran towords me and jumped right into my lap!: purring, and thanking me, that i found him!. I was soo happy that i didnt believe those hunters back there. Because this cat was just misunderstood!. He is an amazing cat i thought to myself!
When Rak'Shiri was finished thanking me, he went right to my side, watching me. I told him Okey Amadeus! im gonna take you away from here!. from the cold!. But i swear i am gonna take you back someday,! Maybe you can meet any of your family?!.
I ran and jumped on the road, back to the town. With Amadeus, He was soo happy, his eyes where glowing of happyness.

Muramasa!.

When the new age came, all of us discovered, a whole new place called Northrend!.
I had been exploring all northrend, untill i found the place, called Storm peaks.! This was the place that was my favourite place. With all the snow.!.

One day i was doing a quest, killing harpies, for their feathers. And i saw something Blue in the corner of my eye!. It Was a Wolf.! But a kind of wolf i had never seen before. It had big teeth and a slim body with alot of fur, But the thing that amazed me the most was the colour of his fur! it was dark Blue!. And i swear sometimes it was lightning in the fur.!
I could not do anything else than stand there watching this amazing creature.! He was walking around sniffing the ground and looking around, he didnt even notice me, Because i had hidden behind a tree, i didnt remember when i did hide. But i still remember the thing dad told me. That every beast have their good sides, But still i wasent sure, i had not heard anything about this wolf before, from my hunter friends!. So i wanted to be on the safe side..
I could not believe the sight of the wolf, he was breathtaking there he stood. But he was not looking well.
Then out of nowhere a hunter came running, It was one of my friends,! She had a huge Blue dragon running after her!. She was about to die. But then she managed to Feign Death!. I tried to scream to her, but she didnt hear me. She had ran right to the Wolf.! The wolf enraged and Jumped on Alaria!. Alaria could not do anything else but to give up. The wolf killed her and ran away.!

I ran towords Alaria, throwing myself into the snow beside her!. screaming why!. But then i saw her face. She looked happy!. i could not believe it, but she actually had a smile.! Did she see me before she died? is that why she smiled? i did not know.
I was sitting there with her corpse, crying when i noticed a letter that had fallen out of her bag, It was filled with blood. but i could manage to read it!. it said

-Dear Snowbird, i might be dead when you read this. I am Soo sorry!.
you know i have been in stormpeaks a wile. But i havent really told you the reason why. I had heard from the old Hunters in Howling fjord about a Spirit Wolf called Skoll. I asked them what they ment about spirit, they said a spirit of a great wolf god. They said that he had been brought back to life when the big changes to the world happened. The spirit wolf where known to be a fierse being. But i didnt believe the hunter, that Skoll would be that bad.
Like you had told me Snowy, Every beast have their good sides. i decided to take a trip to Storm peaks. where the old hunter had told me that Skoll would be. I searched all day and night but could not find him. But one day i heard howling!. I flew towords the howling, and i saw alot of hunters standing outside something that looked like a den. and i saw the blue wolf standing outside!. Growling at the hunters.! I saw a few cubs inside the den shaking. I guessed that that was the wolf's puppies, and he was protecting them from the hunters. The hunters started shooting Skoll, and shooed him away, and they ran into the den and killed the puppies for their pelt.! I could not believe what i saw. i had searched day and night for the wolf, and this is what happened?. I flew after the wolf. But i could not find him.
But i tell you this Snowbird. that i will find Skoll one day, and i hope he will see me as a friend. But after he had been trought, he would be scared. So i beg of you Snowy, You have to save this wolf from the pelt hunters!. Try to reason with Skoll. Make him yours!.

I folded the letter and put it back into her backpack!. And i walked away without looking back. I had decided to search for this wolf called Skoll. Not for revenge but for trying to show Alaria that she was right. This Wolf might have a good side.!

I ran towords the den that she had made a map to. I was walking. and it was blowing cold cold wind. Soo freezing that i could not feel my hands or feet. I reached the den, when i came closer i could see something laying outside!. It Was Skoll!. He was laying in a pile of blood, i thought when i saw him i didnt see any blood, But i had only seen him from one side, and i thought, that he had acted strange!. I saw it was not only Skolls blood there, i saw loads of dry blood and skinn less bodies inside the den. I tried to not look at it. It was soo horrible!.

I walked closer to Skoll, it looked like he didnt care about me coming so close, but then i tramped on a old bone, and he growled, and flew up on his feet, he could not stand right, but he tried. He was looking right into my eyes, then i said to him.

-Skoll i am not here to hurt you, You have been hurt enought. My friend that you killed earlier was not one of the hunter that killed your Babies.! she was just trying to save you. So i am begging you to take a look into my eyes and see, you will see there that i am not here to kill you!-

Skoll came alittle closer and looked into my eyes a wile, then he made a strange sound, and out of nothing he said -I am sorry young hunter! I didnt mean to scare you..!. I was scared that you came here to kill me!.
And i am soo sorry about your hunter friend, i didnt mean to kill her, i was just gonna scare her away and i got alittle carried away. But she was already hurt so i could not stop myself!. I am sorry.

i could not believe that he talked, but then i remember the letter from Alaria. Skoll is a Spirit. he was once a god.! So thats why he could speak!.

Then Skoll talked again. -I have decided to follow you, you seem like a good person, and i really need someone to take care of my wounds.!. I thanked him and and we walked back to the spot where Alaria was laying.
Me and Skoll decided to make a greave for her, and placed the letter beside it.!

I said to skoll and Alarias grave that this story would live forever with both me and skoll. And that we would stop the Pelt hunters for hurting any other rare beasts again..

Kyouryuu

I found myself in Un'goro Crater, hunting for something. I had heard of strange deaths in the hole of this place, with all the vagatation, and strange beings that should have been dead millions of years ago.

I had heard of peaople getting killed, by something big coming out of no where!, Some people say the only thing they could see from far away where something white and big!.
I had decided that i was gonna find this being, and try to tame it. I have a connection to misunderstood beings, and this seemed like one. But i did not know what i was up for!.

I was walking in the green place for hours only seeing some strange looking raptors and some other beings, that i didnt know.! Then out of no where comes something big!. It was some kind of dinosaur!. But not the kind i had ever seen before, It was huge!, and it was brown/red! I had to run because he could just take some walking steps and he was allmost ontop of me. That big he was!. I ran for ages and finally the Devilsaur, that i had decided to call it ran back to where it came from..!.
Sadly it was not the white one that had killed all those peaople, so i decided to continue my hunt, for the devil of a saur!.
I could now understand why those people where killed, The devilsaur may be BIG!, but it could surely stealth all the way to you and crush you to bits!.. I did now know what i was after.! I did not see the red one again thoguht, that i was happy about.

I was looking for days without seeing anything, then i heard screaming!. It was a Human priest! he came running and screamed MONSTER! He ran to me and stopped!. Looking behind him, but nothing was there!.
He gasped for air and said -Its a big monster in this place! A big white monster with big pink eyes of death!.
-Where did you see this monster i asked, and all he did was to point foreward.!

All i saw was mist!. And i had no idea when it was mist. But then i saw something big!. A big shadowlike being walking towords us! I saw a big scaled food stepping out of the shadows, Then a big head with pink glowing eyes!. It was the Devilsaur i was hunting for!.

It ran right towords me and the priest. The priest Ran away screaming MONSTER again, but i stood my ground. Thinking if i could show this being that i wasent afraid that he would back down. He came running and reached me and was about to run right trought me, when he stopped!. The Devilsaur bent down and began to sniff my hair.! I could smell its breath, i thought tomyself that the breath itself could kill!.

Then the devilsaur gave me a big smile!, i could not believe it! did he really like me!?. Then he ran a bit away from me and i saw him picking something up. It was a big bone! He ran towords me and threw the bone on the ground right infront of my legs!.
The bone was allmost as big as me! i could not possibly throw that!!.
And the Devilsaur seemed like he understood, then he turned around with his tail, Pushing the tail against me, wanting something.
He looked over his shoulder and gave me a playful look. I thought to myself that maybe he wanted me to climp up!. And i did, when i was up on his neck he started running.! It was soo fast, i could allmost not hold on. The devilsaur was a nice being that wanted to be mine. And we played the rest of the day.

All the peaople in The hole of the place had spread roumours that it was one crazy hunter riding a Big Devilsaur.! That all should stay away from the place. Because they could never know, when the Devilsaur and the hunter, could come out of the shadows and Trample you down!.

A new favorite, Kira the red warpstalker. Named after Light Yagami's alter ego in the Death Note anime. The character has glowing red eyes and at certain angles his hair and skin can appear red in the anime. I figured Kira fit him. It is also the way japanese pronounce 'killer', perfect for such an evil-looking pet. And yet...he's so cute!

lol, it was a random thing that happened, i was taming a common spider (to help a friend get deth,) and i had randomly placed a fire trap instead of an ice one, the tame went off be for the spider hit the trap but instead came and sat in front of the trap, i thought it looked neat, and it goes along with my Current theme (look at my Sig) Master Of The Fire. but, it does add a flare (ha-ha) to the pet's pic/look.

I dont have any screenies-- yet, i renewed my account today but back when my character was in her mid 20's i tamed a Blackrock Battle Worg:

Image

I tamed him alone and it was hard.. ungodly hard.. they are very fast spawning elites, they will aggro in a pack of usually maybe around 5-7 (least, it seemed like that many lol), they dont exactly hit hard when alone for elites but they hit very hard and kill you very fast in numbers. I was intent on taming him tho and i tried and tried and died and then i started killing them off, well, actually i could only kill one cause they respawned too fast. But killing that one was all i needed. Once i dispatched a worg i ran to max range and started the tame, the very instant i died the tame finished and he vanished, i ran back, rezzed up, called him and i had my gorgeous little pup beside me <3 I always name this particular wolf Shade, it fits the wolf very well and i can never feel right giving that name to any other pet.

Its weird tho, on my almost-exact troll Xakaal, before she got turned into a worgen, her best and most loyal companion was a white worg (Death Howl to be exact, Ghost Howl wasnt tameable back then) but Rinzaak cannot click at all with a white worg, or a white wolf, she cant click with any wolf at all except Shade.. while he spends a lot of time in the stable due to one of my call slots belonging to Mordae my black panther (the sabercat Duskfang) who was the whole reason for leveling Rinzaak, i always pretend to pet him when im checking out my stables. I might make him a bit of an oddity, a plain-shifter if i click well with Karoma.

While I adore all my pets, there's two that definitely stand out:

Image

Apook! Nearly all of my hunters have leveled with a white turtle but Vasken's the only one she really clicked with. She's the exact complement to my dumbwitted, mind-addled troll; her voracious temper and affinity for introducing her plated head to male's groins certainly keeps Vasken's behaviour in check. Apook's almost his homicidal, although loving, babysitter and mentor.

Image

And, Omacatl. Randomly picked her up in Wailing Caverns during a horrific dungeon run. I wasn't leaving empty handed! Released her a few times, but always immediately rushed over to snaffle her back. Three stable slots were brutal!

In terms of roleplay, she was raised from an egg by the troll and, unfortunately, picked up each and every one of her owner's bad habits: Laziness and gluttony! The raptor is spoilt rotten and rarely does anything than harass others with her high-pitched squealing in a desperate attempt to snaffle some food. She's just as round as Vasken! They've both been ravaging Sen'jin Village's fish-supplies for as long as I can remember.

I wanted to bump this thread by showing off my five favorite pets. I started out with my favorite pets from each tree (and spirit beasts) but these are my all time favorites regardless. The funny thing is that I had picked out these five immediately but I lost track and thought I had picked only four. I agonized over which was to be the fifth until I realized I had my five already and it was an easy decision lol.

I've posted about my White Lady a lot! I just love her. She's been one of my favorites from the minute I tamed her. I love having her by my side and she is one badass tank.
Image

Casanova is a relatively new addition but he quickly rose to be one of the favorites. He's a big adorable lug. I love his animations, his growling sounds, and he just looks awesome. I never thought I'd click with a Croc type pet but here we are!
Image

Dulcinea is another one of my long time favorites. I came across her while questing and just had to have her. She is the most gorgeous cat in the game and I don't see a lot of people with her. She is the pet I get the most compliments on. I love her almost luminescent fur. She looks like a snow queen or something. And she tears it up in bg's, raids, whatever I need her for she does the job!
Image

What can I say about my Jameel? He's the first rare I really wanted and I put all leveling aside as soon as I could tame him. It took me about 15 hours of camping to find him, that was late night early morning camping. The first time he spawned is the first time I heard the blare of my npc addon going off. But I would have tamed him if there were a thousand of him roaming the wild. He's very special to me!
Image

And my Vixen! Last but certainly not least! I can't imagine not having her around. The click wasn't immediate and I ended up releasing her then regretting it and going back right away to get her back. I don't know what I was thinking! Since then she's done everything from raids to bg's to quests to being the star of lots of screenshots. I will never be without her in my stables now, ever!
