@Serenith: He just looks so cool, the red one - but I'll deal with whichever one I find. I know how looking for one specific Madexx can be such a trial.
@Vephriel: You were the inspiration for me taming him! Now he's got all sorts of buggy little friends. XD
But I've been taming in the interim! Here's the story, RP style.
Highwing was down in Un'Goro crater where she'd heard about a silithid hive. She'd wondered about silithids since finding them in Thousand Needles and the two big nests in Tanaris. Just like all other bugs, these silithids managed to live in all sorts of environments. Underwater where the Needles had flooded, in the heat and dry of the desert -- and now, here they were in the lush jungle. She carefully sneaked past the sentries until she stood at the entrance of the burrow. And there, unexpectedly, she found a silithid beetle, slightly smaller than the others. He worked at the side of the burrow like a beetle determined, undistracted until she started offering bits of banana she'd kept from Gadgetzan.
"Hey there," Highwing murmured, pressing herself toward the burrow's walls. "Come here. Come here, little guy."
When the beetle realised she was offering food - which, unknown to the huntress, he'd been without for a very long time - it was almost an immediate loyalty shift. He devoured the banana and lifted his feelers up toward her, seeking more. She chuckled and fed him, emptying her pack of bananas until the little beetle seemed sated.

She still had to go into the hive. From what she understood, there was a large danger to the Marshall camp inside, and she'd been tasked with seeing to it in whatever way she could. It was work she was confident she could do.
As she stood, the beetle came to stand at her side and stayed there until she actually set foot inside. As if afraid, he hung back, leaving her to face the larger silithids inside - and that was when Highwing understood. He was smaller than they were.

And almost immediately, Highwing was attacked. She fired arrows into her attackers, fighting them off with her staff, but they came in numbers that were very close to overwhelming. But then, to her surprise, the little beetle stormed in, absorbing their poisonous attacks - attacks that he was almost immune to. Before their combined efforts, the wave of attackers began to fall.

In the peace that followed, even surrounded by corpses, Highwing led them a short distance away before turning to speak to the little beetle, a hand on his shining, smooth chitin. "Listen," she said softly. "I know they've been mistreating you, what with your being small. But I can promise that with me, if you're injured, you'll be healed. Your strength will be appreciated. I'll feed you, take care of you - but we'll need to see to it that the threat against the expeditions here is fallen. You know the way inside here. Can you show me?"
The beetle's eyes seemed to shine and then, on his little pointed feet, he started to lead her further down, through the coils of the hive, until they came face to proboscis with the Colossus that had been pressing the hive to action.

It intimidated even the huntress, but before she could stop him, the little beetle charged forward. They fought, dodging the beast's poison, but the bravery of the little beetle was astonishing. In the end, the colossus had fallen and though scratched and injured, the beetle runt stood victorious.
They left the hive behind, none of the silithids daring to stop them, and Highwing was confident of her new beetle friend. (But his colour still got him the name Buttercup which he actually seemed quite content with.)
