Re: Possible Visible Quivers for Hunters
My support for my belief is that when hunters stopped needing intellect on their gear, our old gear was completely redone to compensate for the loss of stats by buffing the others (often to stamina).
If you two want to be pessimistic, that's fine by me.
I'll just continue to have faith that a change that large will be accounted for, as opposed to a single set of crafted items for one profession.
If you two want to be pessimistic, that's fine by me.

all classes will lose their respective stat sticks.
hunters: ranged weapons only
melee: melee weapons only
casters: wands become main hand

Well, from an admittedly ME-ME-ME perspective, I would ~love~ to see pistols, shotguns, throwing knives, javelins etc added as the new hunter "melee" item, similar to how cloth casters (as I understand it) will have to choose between a staff or a wand / offhand. But that ofc would be a lot of programming for just us...

I do fancy the idea of strutting around with matching pistols on my hips...hm....I would need a different hat...

Re: Possible Visible Quivers for Hunters
Another possibility... and many will hate this and think it is stupid, but - change ranged weapons to act as "armaments", whereby you get not only the gun / bow / crossbow itself, but also a matching 2H melee weapon, or pair of 1H'ers if it's high enough ilvl for you to be dual wielding by then. And the whole ensemble is equipped / de-equipped as one icon. E.g. when you equip the bow, you also equip the melee weapon.
Lorewise / realism - virtually none. This is admittedly somewhat awkward in that dept.
But gamewise it would A) let hunters continue to use melee weapons without competing with meleers for loot and B) still allow you to get something cool looking.
Also, this wouldn't interfere with them removing the dead zone - this melee weapon would only act as your "autoshot" animation when you're in melee range - but your shots and such would all work alongside that, e.g. it's just for aesthetics.
