Re: This would be the best "buff pet" ever!

I'm not saying I would go for those damage-buffed cats, finding rares in 10 minutes and assembling a raid big enough to kill them exactly is highly implausible. But what are you -doing-? Why are your pets zoning out? Because simply killing a pet and hitting revive is what everyone does, but we're not getting your spider or bottle-crab. They're supposed to be unobtainable, because they lose their buff on death. So if you're killing them, why do they keep it?

Hrm, I just took a quick glance at the video, but I'm guessing that by having a friend kill the creature RIGHT as the tame goes through, there's a small moment in between the creature registering as dying and then becoming a tamed pet, so perhaps it makes it despawn for some reason?

I know this is off-topic, but, what is the ui you're using? mainly the action bars and character portrait, it's nice.

Well, seems that the buff method is alive and well, even for the fragile lose-it-on-death pets. Managed to get two ghost wolves with the help of my DK friend -- melee seems to help. It does take some time to do, but you can get your drunk crabs, pickaxe monkeys, and I am slowly pondering if I can get that tricky little fire pet once more.

I'd also like to note that the buff on the tigers from Twiroics can be gotten, but it would take a hell of a lot of teamwork, luck, and it's still a damage exploit.

I couldn't help but notice that you blacked out the name of the player in the tooltip. .... but not on the actual pet *itself*. So while you blacked out the teeny, tiny mention of it, there's still the HUGE nameplate above its head that says the character name.

Just thought I'd say something, since it's obvious you don't want to be IDed!

Doh! Oh, whatever. Working on the bottle crab now, and if I can get two other people with patience, gonna take a crack at that fire pet.
