Having a GM Restore a Pet
TL;DR: Anyone ever had a pet restored by a GM after you abandoned it?

Re: Having a GM Restore a Pet
Long story short, I found Gondria and decided I had to have it, so after a lot of hard decision making I thought I'd let go of my core hound....The Beast from Blackrock Spire. Though he was a hard tame, I figured that if I did it once I could do it again with the help of my friends.
Anyways, a couple days went by and I realized that Gondria just did -not- have the same appeal to me as my big badass lava dog. I was missing him badly, so I went to retame him along with my friend Gala who had helped me the first time.
Cue hundreds of attempts with no success. We tried and tried but just could not get him tamed again. I was practically crying, not knowing how the hell I had managed to do it the first time and realizing how much I missed him.
After hours and days of this feeble taming attempt, I thought I'd open a GM ticket out of desperation. Just to see if maybe I'd get someone in a good mood who could help me out. I did this with absolutely no expectations...after all, I had willingly abandoned Beast and it wasn't due to a glitch or anything.
Still, the next day, I received a response and sure enough Beast was back in the stable in the empty space I had left there before opening the ticket. I've never been so relieved and thankful, and I'm never going to get the crazy idea to let him go ever again.
I think it all comes down to how polite you are and if you're lucky enough to get a sympathetic GM. Definitely give it a try, it can't hurt right?

Wow, didn't know that happened to you! I was honestly a bit surprised you released The Beast to get Gondria, but I'm glad that at least now he's stuck to you like glue (or is it the other way around now?Vephriel wrote:This actually happened to me just recently.

Re: Having a GM Restore a Pet
As Vephriel wrote above, I had a similar situation crop up last week. My ISP was having issues as I was swapping pets in and out of my stable. On a re-log I found them all, just gone, and promptly freaked...
I placed a ticket and crossed my fingers. The first GM was kind of , ehhhh, "... Sir I don't believe it will be possible to restore your stabled pets... " , but I re-applied my ticket and a day later a much more compassionate GM restored them all in a matter of minutes. And again I was gushing with politeness and thank you's...
Pet restoration is not a common practice I gathered from my conversation with this GM, but can be done. You need the luck of the draw in getting a pet friendly GM I think. Another thing that might be an issue would be the length of time Krush has been released. If to much time passes, they may be less inclined to be willing to restore him.
I wish you all the luck...

Yeah, I didn't really mention it anywhere. ^^; I think the sporadic-ness of chancing upon Gondria for the second time was influencing my decision too much. If I had actually stopped to think logically I would have realized that I could easily wait until Cataclysm to retame it, whereas The Beast may be retired. I don't know what came over me, but I'm so grateful to have Beast back. The one positive thing I can say about that whole situation is that it totally renewed my love for that core hound. I have him out constantly now and just grin like an idiot because he's so awesome.Rhyela wrote:Wow, didn't know that happened to you! I'd say Gondria is easier to re-tame than The Beast, so hopefully you can get her back when we get our stable buff.
