Huh? I didn't wait hardly at all on any alt. And far as I can tell, it's not account bound cause each of my alts got the achievement.

One thing that I suspect leads to a lot of the disappointment with the secenario is that it's a scenario, not a pre-expansion event. I've seen a number of posts on various forums about how pales in comparison to the LK and Cata pre-expansion. I really think Blizz should've done some kind of pre-MoP thing. I dunno what, but not doing one and then releasing a scenario just before release is kinda not the brightest move.

That being said, I was a little underwhelemed by the scenario. I think there are two reasons for that. First up is that scenarios are new in WoW and I kept thinking of it in terms of a dungeon or raid. It's really more like a group quest chain (like maybe the assorted Ring of Blood ones) that you can repeat.

Second, I really didn't like the fact that, at least as Horde, there was no justification for what I was doing. Pop in on a boat and get told to rig some ships to blow up. It would've been nice to at least have had some kind of reason for running around and blowing the place up. Add to that the fact my main character is a Tauren and it makes even less sense. It's not like he's happy with Garrosh and, shoot, Jaina even helped Baine with money to finance the retaking of Thunder Bluff from the Grimtotem. Granted, as far as I know, Jaina wasn't against the road through the Barrens that ultimately led to the massacre at Taurajo, but still...

I ran it on my hunter in a random pug and then on my shaman and rogue with a couple friends. The friends both got epics in their reward box thingy. I got fireworks on all 3 chars. Whee.

A question for those who've run it as Alliance: How did Jaina survive the bomb?

another aspect of this non-event that many people have been complaining about is that it's not only open only to level 85 characters, but it is also limited as far as iLevel is concerned.

So newly level 85 toons can't do it.

Players with no level 85 toons aren't involved in any way shape or form.

There's no sense that this IS any sort of event. I would agree with those who feel that Blizzard dropped the ball on this pre-expansion material. They SHOULD have made at leas a small effort to include lower-level players.

To me, it smacks of elitism.

New 85s have pretty easy access to gear that will kick them over the ilevel requirement. I leveled two new characters to 85 within the last week or two and they got cleared for the HoT 5s almost immediately, just with crafted/BoE gear.

Considering how easy getting to 85 is (especially since it's only five levels to get from the Wrath to Cata level cap), most players should have at least one eligible character. Sure, all the alts can't run this time through, but at least it's possible to see the content without too much trouble.

There's no explanation in the scenario itself, but if you read the book (which I did not, but I heard from people who have), you find out what happened*. I personally find that part to be a gyp and the most offensive part of how the pre-expansion event was handled. A lot of little development details are left out. On the plus side, if you miss the event, you can at least do the scenario at 90 to see what you missed. But yeah....it would have been nice to see details IN THE GAME, not in a book I never intend to read.

He's not there *before* Theramore falls, which means he may have fled or been evacuated.

Personally I found it rather under whelming. Just kind of a “oh no we got blown up! Horde suck.” It was an interesting fight and I like Jaina’s new look but it was all over rather quickly and kind of felt like the overall storyline was delivered in a stiff, lets-get-this-over-with feeling. Too bad the lower lvls don’t get to do anything. I would have liked some kind of buildup to the bomb dropping, like you do quests to try to stop it and prepare. Or you help deliver it if your horde. Or maybe you do a questline/scenario where you have help Jaina retaliate and assist her in her revenge against hellscream- ending with some kind of skirmish between the two. (a skirmish they would both survive.)
I’m sure it would be a lore breaker for those who have read the books but its not like blizz follows the lore that well anyway >_>
In the end I felt it was over too fast and has no connection to the next expansion unless you want to say the battling ships in the mop cutscene were a result of theramore.


P.S Has anyone else noticed that you can skin the siege tank “boss?” I got a handful of obsidian bolts off of it. xD
