Petopia Corrections - Current Patch Only

A note on Patch 5.2 updates:

Wain has gotten all of the info and corrections to me, but I'm a day late (and a dollar short) on getting the site updated for Patch 5.2. Our rat Hideous Weasel had surgery for a tumor yesterday (she's doing very well!) and I had a doctor's appointment of my own, all of which was bad timing. I am updating the site in spurts today, which means for example that right this very instant, two of the images are broken. By the end of today, I hope to have all the corrected and updated info up on the main Petopia site.

I just wanted to let you know why we're a bit slow right now!

Since they're both heavily armoured, rather than wild models, I've omitted them. We tend to only include saddled/armoured models if at least one example becomes tameable.

Correction: a new Devilsaur that is Tameable Kroshik lvl 90 white with orange stripes is tameable on the Isle of Thunder, I have him and so do a few other hunters as well he's a 1 of a kind.

Thanks. I didn't realize he was tameable. He's actually not unique though. There are young tameable dinos on the Isle of Giants that are the same colour.

The thumb nail for the red direhorn has yellow eyes, but the actual red direhorn has blue eyes

cant tell if the color is also off for the brown one, but the actual direhorn has green eyes.

Not sure if this is just a remnant of the pre-skin change or if that's just how they shrunk.

He's actually not unique though. There are young tameable dinos on the Isle of Giants that are the same colour.

I don't think Brywinsin was using one-of-a-kind as a technical term I like that if you talk to the Saurok, they will tell you Kroshik lore.

one-of-a-kind usually means "only one of this kind" which in pets case...means unique skins. There really is no other way to use this unless they mean personality, which on the site database, doesn't mean anything.

Which someone less familiar with the site might not have known prior to this. It's a quirk of WoW pet terminology.

Well spotted! It actually wasn't an old version but an artefact of image size reduction. I didn't realize that XNView was saving the thumbs at a lower quality than I wanted, and for some reason that made the dino's blue eyes brown (there's a song in there somewhere).

I've upped the quality and they should look right now (though you may need to reload the page to empty your browser cache).

As far as I know those were the only two that were affected in a significant way. But as soon as I get time I'll go back and upload higher quality thumbs of many images I've already done. The orange and red direhorn thumbs now look, I think, a little sharper than the ones for other colours.

That's because that colour wasn't meant to be in there at all! I'm not sure how it got in there.

When they copied those spectral tiger skins to the regular and sabre tiger models they forgot to add green to the sabre model for some reason. As a result I never added that one as a potential look.

Somehow that cat crept in anyway, so in the interest of things being not-broken I've uploaded images for it.

Yes Kroshik is a Light Brown, on the Isle of thunder he looks a little whiter.

I also logged a correction for the issue where the "Glowing Purple" tiger is using the blue image (just in case anyone notices it).

Also I finally logged corrections to mark the two larvae (Gorishi Grub and Amber Parasite), and their respective colours, as now untameable. These snuck under the radar when the patch landed.

Also logged correction for Ancient Guardian (quilen) as per Kayoh's post. It's just level 90, not 89-90.

Also logged addition of Grave Guardian (grey stone quilen, new to patch 5.2, NOT tameable).

Aldo also logged deletion of Ishamuhale, an old red raptor who was a summon from a removed Horde quest of the same name.

Wain, I am not trying to sound bitchy, but you're making it sound like "If its marked a beast, its automatically tameable." which is not the case at all.

On top of that, one of wain's jobs IS to make sure we know whether or not a particular model is or isn't tamable.

I'm certainly not trying to make it sound like that. In that case, it is a beast from a tameable family, but is itself not tameable. We do tend to include those to help people who might wonder. I didn't want people to think just because it's being added it is tameable.
