So I got assigned a blue beetle, an easy enough tame.
I flew myself out to Tanaris and set about taming one of the many swarmers that wandered around, taking a few minutes to think of a name and finally coming up with "Diamond" (because diamond in the rough, I can't remember my exact reasoning behind this name anymore).
I played around with Dia for a bit before I had to leave -- effectively cutting this entire thing off -- but I think she'll be staying with Jas for a bit; I see no reason to get rid of her since I do like beetles overall, and seeing as he has the space and his stables don't get quite as jostled around as Deathly's do I have no real reason to let her go.

The moment I saw the pet I needed, I knew it was going to be a long run. Not wanting to risk my luck with the only other mob this pet had that was within my level range (a rare in the Highlands, the continent of which I'd just left in favor of doing Felwood quests), I instead set out on my journey to Tanaris.
Now see, the only small problem I had was... I had no flight paths in this place at all, having spent all of my time in Eastern Kingdoms plugging away at killing the undead scourge of the plaguelands. Which meant, unfortunately for me, my wolf, and my poor chestnut mare, a long swim.
(You can almost hear the Old Gods laughing at my pain.)
My hatred for swimming now being known through the Nether, I dutifully hopped off the broken elevator platform and set my sights on the long, chugging swim ahead of me...
And a very...
Very...
Very long swim it was.
I don't think me n' Lumos have been so excited to see dry land, even if it was in the form of God forsaken desert. Kissing the ground a few times and wailing my despair seemed to rub off on Lum because he was constantly snuffling at the ground while we were there, and after stabling him and setting out into the desert I could tell that I was glad I had the free time to actually do this.
But I still had a vulture to tame, so running my blue tail over to one of the many giant piles of bones -- this one being farmed by different people, which meant I had to grab myself a bird quick -- I found the object of my task and set about putting his feathery tail on ice.
I decided to leave the naming to when I got to a much safer place, so me and the newly tamed vulture started our way back across the sands to Gadgetzan, where I christened the flappy thing with the name Talbot. Because there's nothing like having one's own messenger of destruction at their side.
I decided to head back to Felwood at that point, seeing as I still need to get at least one shot of Tal in action and, with nothing but totally unsarcastic farewells to Tanaris, hopped a Gryphon and blew that popsicle stand like it was going out of style.
Now in the way of carrion birds, the only thing I really don't particularly enjoy is their clunky-looking feet and odd tail feathers; everything else, from the way they sound, to their idle and fighting animations, are completely fine in my book. They even have a good pool of diverse colors to choose from, if one doesn't enjoy the plain, boring-looking colors that some members of the family sport.
(Gaze and bask in my laziness not to turn the dps counter off.)
All in all, Ey has quite a few (i.e: two other) flappy friends in her stables already and I'm even planning on adding another in the future once she reaches the right level, but I don't see why Tal can't stay for awhile, at least until he's called back to the deserts to munch on unsuspecting carrion.

Well, these last few days have been exciting. I left the Wandering Isle, and joined the Horde. Upon being deemed worthy by the Warchief, I had looked around at that capital city a bit. It looked rough, rugged, and threatening. I wanted to be like that. First, I would start with my pet. Not that Selva, my lovely dragon turtle was anything bad, but from the looks some of the other hunters where giving me, I could tell she wasn't exactly what they where looking for in a true horde hunter. I didn't know what pet to get that would be more fitting. In a true pandarian way, I sat on the top rock that over looked a waterfall, and meditated. It hadn't been long before a figure had come to me. It was a Tiger, a great big one, pure white except for it's blue stripes. In the dream, I had looked up at the beast in awe, even as it spoke, "Hello there, young hunter, I am the beast of the Hunter God, Tyger. You are in trouble, are you not? You seek a pet that would be better deeming in the eyes of your peers. I think I have just what you need. I have two different choices for you. First up in a yellow boar." The tiger had showed me an image of a yellow boar, "The next is a fierce Crocolisk." The tiger had showed me the image of the croc, "Choose wisely." The dream faded, and I had been left with a decision to make. I sat atop the waterfall, pondering. I had seen my peers running around with both boars and the crocs, and they both looked good. I had decided to go with the croc, I liked it's looks better.
I went to the local hunter trainer, a friendly Tuaren. he notified me that the lowest level croc was all the way in the middle of Allaince territory...and was still too high of a level for me to befriend it. Sighing, I had decided that I would train. and train. and train. And that's what I had done. I had gone out to Silverpine forest, after making a short detour in Brill to get some Easter chocolate.
It didn't take me long to work my way through Silverpine forest, and soon I was ready. I had traded my Jade crossbow for a regular bow, and I had geared up some more. I had leveled over, to make sure that getting to the corc would be easy. I had been warned that just getting there would be the hard part, and befriending her would be easy. I had some older hunters who had taken me under their wing. they gave me several rare mounts, to make getting to the croc easy. and a lot less painful. The older hunters where more experienced in hunting much rare pets. Pets that would only be seen at a certain time, and only for a short period of time. They had taught me how to be patient, and they had also taught me how to ride. I hesitantly got onto the horse they gave me to try out. I didn't, and I still don't think the beast likes me much.
Thankfully, once I had taken the horse out running, it seemed to be a tad bit more happy with me.
Anyways, once the horse decided that it would listen to me a little, I went out to begin the long journey deep into Alliance territory to find this croc. While I was traveling through Silverpine forest, I had been thrown off the road by numerous forest Ettins. I had learned one thing right there, if I see a forest Ettin coming, MOVE. My rear is still sore from getting bucked off the horse as the beast moved out of the way,. It did not help that the forest Ettins would then kick my rear if I didn't move fast enough.
The treck through Hillsbrad Foothills was rather easy, the road led straight through. With the exception of a stay worgen, I had been left mostly to myself and my bad tempered horse. Next came the hard part: Arathi Highlands. I am of a way too low level to even attempt at killing the mobs in that area, much less even venturing through. Yet, I still had gone through there. It was raining in the Highlands, which had made me wet, and my horse even more bad tempered. If I had not kept such a tight grip on the reigns, I think that horse would have run me off a cliff or something. I am starting to like this horse though, it's keeping me on my toes.
It had taken awhile, and numerous bandages (most had come from the horse bucking me off and into a group of spiders or raptors or something), but I had finally crossed the Highlands. The only thing that had stood in front of me was now the Wetlands, and then a little bit of Loch Modon. One of my older hunter friends said that the Wetlands was where I was going to encounter the most mobs coming after me, and I had to be careful of the alliance bases. She had said that when she was just a young Tuaren, the tiger had sent her after the same croc.
Anyways, I had stood at the end of the bridge, staring into the wetlands. It seemed easy enough. Oh how I had been wrong. The first thing I had encountered was a group of Alliance scouts. My stupid self, and the horse, had ran straight through the group. As my horse ran in the opposite direction, I had started to laugh. Even now, just thinking about those scout's startled faces as a screaming panda on a green flaming horse ran through their group makes me giggles. Once they had recovered, they started to chase me. Thank god it wasn't raining, and the horse obeyed me...a little. Good thing I had kept a very tight hold on the reigns. Thankfully, after that the rest of the Wetlands had gone rather easily. I made my way up the dwarven tunnels into the Loch. I knew I had this in the bag now. Well, I had finally gotten to the little island where the croc was supposed to be...and she wasn't there. I had let out a huge sigh, and let me head drop. Beneath me, I swore I could hear the horse laughing at me. While I had been waiting, I had decided to look at the crocs around me. At first glance, they didn't look very appealing. But, as I had looked closer, I found that they are rather interesting! They had six legs, and moved in an adorable waddle! it was rather weird at first, they looked rather uncomfortable walking how they did, but after awhile I kind of got used to it.
Ok, After I had waited for forever and a day, the croc finally appeared...right on top of me. How a croc just suddenly appears in mid-air, I shall never know. One of the many hunter mysteries of this world. Anyways, I had jumped about, trying to clam Selva down. My Turtle had jumped at the croc, and was tying to kill her. I did not want that, so I had hastily sent her away.
That's my tail it has in it's mouth!
Anyways, after I had calmed the croc down, and gotten my tail out of it's mouth, I looked to over. I rather liked it, but to complete it, it needed a name and a gender. The first thing that had popped into my head was Fuiuchi, which means Surprise. I rather like this name, and it seemed to perfectly fit a Female pet. So, meet Fuiuchi, the female croc. Who has a strange fasination with my tail.
The first thing that I had noticed was her eyes. They're a stunning green color, and it feels like she's staring at my soul.. rather creepy, but I have a feeling that's why I like her so much. that and-
*a split mess of ink here as Fuiuchi tugs at Faleia's tail again*
Fuiuchi is an excellent fighter. She leaps forwards and snaps her jaws on the enemy.
And I do think that my peers do like me new croc. They are not staring at me as though I'm some sort of lost Misfit. I think I'll keep asking this tiger creature for more help.
THAT'S MY TAIL FUIUCHI!
